Orient Ray 2 is good.. its expencive but quality watch.. al least in my country..
I realy love this watch..
But the worst thing on the watch.. this and kamasu is polished bezel.. it looks like girl watch with swarovski christal.. not just my opinion..
Lot of people..men and women sad that watch looks nice.. but with polished besel look kinda like woman watch.. I was planing to sell this and search raven model.. but this video just saved me..
Is there a black (raven style) bezel for buy.. or at least brushed steal or alaminum..
This original polished is horrible..

Nice job Dan, in spite of your light trying to sabotage. At first I thought I wouldn't be convinced by the 'Gulf' coloured bezel insert but as it turns out it works!

I, too, have an extra Orient Mako 2 I obtained in order to mod out. Cheap enough that if it goes sideways, I'll be OK. I have owned 5-6 orients. Given away all but 2. My ‘Ray 2’ and my Kamasu...have added Sapphire to the Ray 2...both on aftermarket bracelets. You are a very patient ‘modd-er’...I have been a machinist and have a mechanical engineering degree...you are already are better at this than me. I have a 50/50 success rate. Thanks for the video! Beautiful modification
As a rule I would always replace the crystal first to make sure you get a good snug fit. Then mount the new bezel. Nice mode by the way 😊

What a great vid. I just got a red Kamasu and like it more than I probably should -- except for the bezel, so perhaps a DIY project is in my future.. With the departure of the SKX this is a great base model to make one's own. Well done. Those are some groovy colors.

@@watchmewithwatches Just came back to this one as just swapping the Bezel on my Mako. It's impossible without a press so have ordered one and turns out it's the same as yours. Fingers crossed for tomorrow!
Nice job, very tasteful .. was very surprised at how easy the bezel came off as my story's the complete opposite, almost destroyed the watch trying to remove mine a few months back & decided to give up & leave it, but well done it looks lovely .

Great job! My only Orient diver is an Orange bezel Mako XL, so I'm happy with the bezel. Wouldn't mind a domed sapphire crystal though! I've no experience doing it though and not sure if there's a correct size crystal for it anyway. İt's a 44.5mm watch so maybe the crystal is a different size.
Good job. I've got the Blue Ray 2 and love it. The only weakness is that very stiff bezel. Glad to hear you're happy with it. I too had my doubts about the bezel colour, but it looks great.

Awesome video, I wish there was more modding content posted. At least the new bezel design is an improvement, not sure about the gulf racing colors of that bezel insert, but it's up to personal preferences 😂

I modded my Ray 2 with a Crystal Times Sapphire crystal, coin edge bezel with a Batman insert from Long Island Watch and I finished it off with a Uncle Seiko Razorwire strap.
Looks cool. Might have to do some mods on mine

I have the Mako2, upgraded the bezel and inset also swapped out the bracelet it is really nice now but I want a domed sapphire crystal for it next. I think I’ll do it next month.

Great video for beginners like me. Do you know which bezel inserts would fit this watch on the namoki website (or other sites)? All the inserts on that site say they're for Seikos?

I managed to change the crystal on my Ray 1 without any problems, however with the bezel i was not so fortunate, and maybe you can help me with some advice.
The bezel spring fell out when i was fighting with the caseback, i put it back, but now when i press down the new bezel, - a CT234 Coin Edge (or even the original Orient bezel, it doesn't really matter) - i can't rotate it. As far as i can tell, the bezel spring looks intact and it is in it's place.
Any suggestions? Thanks!

They can be hit or miss, for some reason mine was super easy. Just be gentle but not too scared of it!

Nice results with that mod! Makes it a brand new watch. I love the lume., And the bezel insert color works better than I'd have thought. That said, I love my blue ray 2 as is! And now that I have the Kamasu also, I really have to think if I really want to wear any other watch!

Is your date wheel stock? It seems to be lumed as well?
It's stock, the lume off the hands reflects off the date wheel.

Great question, not sure to be 100% certain. Many years if seiko movements as a comparison are anything to go by!
