    I’m an avid Seiko collector but I’m also a huge fan of Orient as well. I just recently picked up an Orient Ray 2 in Orange 🍊 dial . Absolutely love this watch it’s amazing 🤩

    I have it with a beautiful blue dial and I simply love it. Lume is fantastic, it lasts long and is really strong. As you already mentioned, you get a lot of watch for the money.

    Glad you went with the orient as for the band and crystal that can be upgraded at a later time if you choose to do so, but for the price point its a solid watch for the value. Enjoy your new watch man!

    Good choice, i got the orange ray a couple years ago, i put it through hell that first year. Not a single scratch on tje crystal is amazing. The citizen promaster blue dial about a year ago is my everyday watch now, also a killer piece.

    Great review! just subscribed
    this mako 2/ray 2 is the most modded orient watch.
    you could get bezel mod from Yobokies, dlw, namoki, long island watch so you could use seiko skx size bezel insert (most people replace it with ceramic bezel insert).
    you could upgrade the crystal to sapphire.
    you could also upgrade the bracelet with miltat strapcode bracelet.
    so much options!!
    by the way the lug to lug width is 46.9mm
    a tiny bit longer than seiko skx007 (45.9mm) and orient kamasu (46.5mm)

      Thanks a lot! I'm not too much into modding myself, so I didn't think about that, but that's a great point

    Great choice my friend. What a beauty. Really liked the photography here. The other reviews of this watch on YT had me thinking that the Ray II looked quite dull, but it looks amazing here! (Especially @2:07) I think you captured the essence of this watch really well.
    Now I'm really curious as to what kind of straps you'd consider pairing it with! (Nato? Leather? Rubber?)

      Hi! Thanks for all the compliments, I really appreciated them!
      I think that this watch is an absolute strap monster, so I guess almost any strap goes well with it, but personally I think like a grey nato strap or a leather...

    thinking about adding the blue version to my collection. i have considered other way more expensive watches but realised that this is just as good.

    • @watcharc9569
      @watcharc9569  Před 10 měsíci +1

      Be mindful that the blue is dramatically different from this one. But yeah you can't go wrong. Wearing mine right now

    I agree. Nice watch. The only minus that I have is the crystal. And now I think: should I go for a saphire (which would be round 150 Euros) or save the money for another watch. But it is not easy to find a watch that offers as much as the orient for that price. Thank you for this video and all the best in 2023. :-)

    Thanks for the review. Other than the mineral crystal, looks like a great watch. I've always been reluctant to get an automatic watch with a day/date complication. Seems annoying to have to always set the time, day AND date when you haven't worn the watch for a while.

    • @watcharc9569
      @watcharc9569  Před 2 lety +3

      You are absolutely right about the day/date. Most modern movement offer quickset date and day but it's still annoying can't lie

    • @tiagodvt
      @tiagodvt Před 2 lety +4

      Well, it has the quickset, so it takes like 10seconds extra do do it. It is as annoying having to adjust only the day.

    Great review. Thanks. Personally, I don’t see any Rolex Sub homage in the Ray 2, which is a distinct advantage in my opinion.
