  • In this build, I take a brand new Ray 2 and perform several custom modifications. These include a double domed sapphire crystal with blue AR, a coin edge bezel, a luminous ceramic bezel insert, as well as a stainless steel solid end link Endmill bracelet from Strapcode. If you're watching this soon after upload, there may be a chance to own this amazing watch, as it is currently for sale to serious buyer. Thank you for watching, and please like and subscribe. Much more on the way!!!

    Wow. It looks so much better with that bezel. The original just looks too rounded which prevents me from buying it, but that bezel mod gives it that edge and now I'm reconsidering

    Excellent work! I did all of the same mods to my blue Ray 2 around 3 years ago and I still have and love the watch. I did the work myself and found it incredibly rewarding. Swapping the crystal was a little stressful. The only difference is I went with the diver's extension clasp for the bracelet and a lumed sapphire bezel insert.

    yep it's always a pig of a job to fit a bracelet with solid end links to locate into the lugs - even tougher when trying to attach the 2nd end link when you have reduced space with your hands /fingers to maneuver the bracelet into position - I've struggled with that so many times ;)

      Hi Thom. This was my first Ray it didn't spend any time on my wrist in stock form so I couldn't speak to that. Even now though, it doesn't have as thick of a feeling as my SKXs. There's curvature to the lugs that makes it sit on the wrists sooo perfectly.

      @RSCWatchMods  Před 4 lety +1

      Hey, Ken. This is my first Orient and I'm unfamiliar as to how the chapter ring is adhered to the dial. You may find that it comes off easily and you can reapply it straight using dial dots or a tiny bit of adhesive. Alternatively, you should remove and reinstall your bezel insert if today would help the visual. Let us know what you decide and how it turns out!

    • @Gatman1202
      @Gatman1202 Před 4 lety +1

      RSC Watch Mods Thanks for the reply! After digging around, many sources seem to say that the xhapter ring is pretty much fixed to the dial. While I may be able to fiddle with it, I don’t want to risk the watch as I lack any experience with watch tinkering and it seems a bit risky to pry at it. For now, I’ll have to live with it!

    The only mod the watch need is the dome sapphire crystal 31x4.5x2.8mm, the rest are waste of time and money.

      the ceramic insert makes it look high end though.

      @@wb3213 I know what you mean, but it's still low-end Orient, the reason for the dome sapphire crystal because the stock one scratched easily, I wouldn't do any thing to my Ray II, and I love it much already, if my crystal broken, I will get dome sapphire

      @@TheSexyoyster Lower end it may be but the basic design elements are there and the mods elevate the watch to another level, not to mention personalizing it to your taste. You have to decide if it’s worth it to you. The YT reviews of certain lower priced popular models always critique the mineral crystals, bracelets, bezel inserts, etc, while praising “the value proposition”. Well yeah, the manufacturer could always add the elements critiqued but then they’d have to raise the price to compensate, thus pricing out some buyers. Customizing gives you options...

    I want to change crystal and bezel with insert but i have a question, does it still water resist at 20 bar, and what gaskets you using after changing crystal and reinstalling case back?

      @@tomskimcdouglegaming806 this a poor answer. What if someone does want to go diving with it? Will the 20 bar resistance still be there or will it need to have new gaskets and be tested?

      pry off the top between the 5 and 6 o clock and the bezel should pop off

    It sucks ...... I disfigured a turtle like a God. Especially the convex glass is definitely out of place there. The bezel may look .... but everything else is a simple watch rape !!! Orientation is a given for those who lived in the 80s and remembers this brand of that time ... Dislike definitely ...
