Let’s take a walk and chat on one of the most exciting days of the construction sequence, the day windows arrive. Not many days during construction rival the day the windows show up. For many reasons it is considered one of the largest milestones of the build. On this particular build, we are using triple glazed high performance units. These windows not only look great - but perform as good as they look. But before the windows arrive, we have to put in the legwork to ensure the right choices are made, and that the coordination effort to get these to the site and installed, is a seamless effort. Join me as we walk thru the process, and have no fear, there are follow ups to this video where we will capture the entire process……Enjoy

I'm stoked that BSN is now putting these 15+ minute vids on YT. The shorts just were really teasers. Great work guys.

Thanks Steve for the details. It was great timing as I just send a set of plans to EAS for quoting. And the plans were missing all this pertinent information. (Because it's my first time trying to order Tilt/Turn windows, I wasn't sure what notes to add.)

0:13 oh, that's so cute :D i've had to handle 18' by 8' windows, triple glaze and that's not even close to maximum size ;)
12:00 the european convention just literally connects the hinges and handle with the lines which is way easier to remember imho because just think about how a window looks ;)

Never had great windows like these but as a home owner of a nearly ~40 year old house I find the weep holes always get clogged full of all kinds of stuff I don't want to touch. Real world is very messy and most homeowners neglect routing cleaning and maintenance. I love this series because it focuses on perfection that will last at least 100 years, but sometimes, I want engineers to just admit there are parts that won't be perfect that long, but will make it easy for the homeowner to clean and/or repair and get back to tip top shape.

Would love to hear your honese opinion - negative, positive or undecided about the litezone windows. Not sure if they've been around long enough to judge them.

What hurricane rating are these? Can they be made to category 5 resistance?

Why do U.S. windows suck sooo bad……It’s not that frickin hard to care about your window product and put out quality….Sick of The U.S. window manufacturers….

Marvin will build a triple glaze window, aluminum clad, tilt-turn for a LOT of money
Make no mistake, these triple glazed, thermally broken, all aluminum Schuco windows are very expensive.

@@josecito976 Here in Europe customer prices for triple glazed windows with aluminium frame with thermal break vary from 600 to 1000 euro/m2. Huge 4 m wide and 2.5 m high HS portal is about 10k. Average modern house windows incl. installation, vapor barrierre cost 30-50 k, total. As a customer you get premium quallity with basically lifetime warranty, zero maintanence, huge energy savings compared to traditional american double glazed wooden windows. Openings are the weakest point of thermal envelope, it doesn't make sense make them even weaker.

@@johnys1811 yes, a premium product commands a premium price. Energy efficient windows are available in the US and have been for years. The rate limiting step that prevents more widespread use is, not surprisingly, cost
