Love that you are involving your son in the hobby and not just the basics.
Absolutely! I isolated the techniques and products which I know he can use, and the choice of army was dictated by that also. Same with Legion, where he plays Separatists.
Excellent work on these. You and your son did a great job on these, and I loved being able to see them in person!
Thanks a lot, mate! He really enjoyed the process, and even more so getting to play with them!
Excellent video! 👍🏻🎅👍🏻
If you are going to do a larger number of miniatures (25-30+), you might consider Artist grade oil paints and odorless mineral spirits. I still have and use the same tubes of oil paints since the early 1970's!
Thanks, JL! Yeah, oil paints in a tube are also a very cost-effective solution when doing large terrain pieces. Happy you liked the video!
I’m using this as a direct reference for my Carcharodons too. Thanks!!
Awesome! Happy that it’s useful for you!
Really love this, your son is braver than me, I'm always put off with things I've never used, like oils and white spirits etc! I really want to try this now, thanks for the video!
Thank you for your kind words, Adie, and I'm happy that you liked it! I'll let the little guy know 😉.
As a heresy player, i just prefer enamels and oils for the grimdark look never been a fan of gw’s style of clean crisp painting.
Same here! 👍
Magnifico!! Excelente iniciativa involucrar a los más pequeños. Felicidades, quedan muy resultones. ¿Que tal fue el taller por Asturias?
¡Muchas gracias, tocayo!
Thank you for sharing! After removing the excess "Oil Wash", may we want to apply Acrylic Paint Highlights, do we need to use a Matte Varnish first? or may paint directly on the "OilWash/Gloss Varnish"? Your thoughts are welcomed.
Hi Southpaw, it depends on the curing time and which oil wash you use. If you let it dry for 48h, it should be fine, but if you want to be sure or can’t wait, it’s always best to varnish. One last thing - that is assuming the paints for your highlights are acrylics; if they were oils or enamels, you would reactivate the oil wash.
@@TheRaceForTerra thx...
Hi, do you need to put any product on the makeup sponge to remove the oil?
Hi, nothing at all - just make sure the model is gloss varnished prior to the oil wash, and don't let it sit for longer than 4h or so (depending on weather conditions, of course).
Thanks!
Anytime!@@mankindben
Are those terminators 3D printed?
No, regular plastic Tartaros!
