2021 UPDATE GUYS! The Netherlands (Jeangu Macrooy - Birth of a New Age), Spain (Blas Canto - Voy a quedarme), Germany (Jendrik - I Don't Feel Hate) and United Kingdom received zero points by the televoting in the Grand Final of the Eurovision 2021 in Rotterdam! United Kingdom also got zero from the juries and Czech Republic (Benny Cristo - Omaga) got zero by the televoting in the semi final 2 as well!
This is my compilation of all null pointers - Eurovision songs with any zero points (by the jury voting, televoting or overall/total points) from 1975 to 2019 (maybe somewhen I will do from the beginning, 1956 :) ) I took into account all the details - I show also other points (for example, if the entry received zero points only from the televoters I show also jury, overall points and places anyway). Just enjoy and remebmer and retro times, and especially last year (I'm sorry Germany, zero points :) )

Just some notes:
- in 2021 entries no audio because of copyright, I put here German music video instead of live performance to be sure that video won't be blocked for using materials from the Grand Final
- I also added here some 2000 - 2007 entries that got zero from televoters but got some backup jury points
- Sorry for some mistakes that I forget to fix after the previous version of the video (televoitng and something else), I just did it right after the grand final, at 4 a.m., so what can I do)))
Why do you start in 1975?
I mean this is an updated video, you could have started with the Netherlands & Austria getting the first 0 points. Many followed.
At least we don't whinge so much about it as the Brits.

Germany has become a meme at this point

@@draconiusultamius san marino thought by bringing a celebrity they would win..Guess not lol
Remember when we had Stefan Raab for Germany?
Jesus, their 2015 entry was kinda OK and didn't deserve 0 points, as it wouldn't have, if they had split results. But their 0 points from the televote in 2019 and 2021 are well-deserved, and I'm pretty sure, they also would have been ranking near bottom in the 2020 contest (not with 0 points from the public though, maybe 10 to 15 points max.) And they really would have deserved 0 points in the televote and last place, just like their 2017 entry would have. (she however still managed to get points from jury and televote, finishing 2nd to last, I don't get, why). Last place in 2016 was well deserved, but I don't think, it's a song that should have gotten 0 points either. Their 2018 song really got overrated and overhyped, just bc it was a German song that didn't suck. It deserved to be on the left half of the scoreboard, maybe Top 10, but rank 4 is way too high in a strong year like 2018. Maybe if he represented Germany one year earlier (even though I prefer Blanche who got 4th over him) with the same song, Top 5 would have been OK, but not in Lisbon.
Every year 0 points😢Vote for Germany 🇩🇪😢
Ah, James, at least you still enjoyed your downfall...
uk got in the history books in 2021 just for all of the wrong reasons, oh well i respect james for being a good sport about it
I never thought that something like this would happen with UK this year, when they have their one of the best songs) That means this final was really strong
@@escserg6731 i thought we’d (the uk) would get some points obviously not that many as usual but i was shocked, personally my top 3 were, finland, bulgaria and russia, i didn’t really like italy until i heard it after they won and then it made it better for me
They didn't get any points because of Brexit.
@@lukassalota1269 @c4itl4n All the brits say it’s because of brexit but honestly the song was really bad and the singers voice was off. I feel really bad for him though, he seems like a good lad and he deserved at least some points.
He honestly seems like a really nice guy, genuine and likeable. He has written/co-written with so many artists: Jess Glynne, Rudimental, Little Mix, Keiser Chiefs, Kesha, Sigala, Louis Tomlinson and many others, so can't quite understand *zero.* It is strange because the song wasn't *bad*, and his performance not *terrible* but it did rather sound like an old fashioned "B" side to a single or an album track.
Lmao, one competition later and yet so much to add! But honestly this year no one deserved 0 points... I was hoping for the best for everyone!
Couldn't agree more. All these zeroes came because the year is so strong, people just couldn't have voted for everyone to let them be in top 10 by televoting of any country
@@escserg6731 I'm just wondering what happened to UK's jury point(s). Usually, at least one country gives them something and James was one of their better entries.

@@draconiusultamius The year was so strong to have UK in top 10 of any country :(
Most of these songs really don't deserve 0 points. I wonder why they had to be the ones to be forgot by the audience/jury, because they're really not that bad.
I think it's mostly just about the way the voting works. Only every country's top 10 gets any points, so if for instance some song is the 11th best favorite in every country, they can end up with 0 points.
2016: “0 points to Czech Republic.”
2017: “With 0 points, it is Austria.”

The song was decent, the problem was more how he sung it. He was just off key and off beat for a majority of the song, there’s not much else to it.
He’s no doubt a great guy tho. Being able to celebrate getting 0 points is something to respect.

Yep, 2017 was our most successful year since Blue in 2011. If it was bc of Brexit we'd have been getting Nil Points ever since. The problem isn't politics, it's that the BBC rarely ever choose a song that stands out enough to do well

couldn't agree more)
🇩🇪😭
I don't understand how some of the entries have points from the jury and the televote but you've put total points as 0?
The old voting/points system was different.
Because of how the voting system worked.
In 2010-2012 they basically summed the results of both jury and televote for each country, and the entries with the 10 biggest sums are the ones that get points at the end.
In 2013-2015 it worked based on the average of the overall top of both sides, so if a song was in the top 10 for jury, but bottom 5 for televote, the possibilities of it not making the cut were rather big.
Gernany deserved more than 3 pointS this year

Let's face it, any of these could have won in another year.
Only our representative, James Newman could take the humility of 0 Points like a champ. The UK carried that same sentiment on the night of the final. We came last with nothing but at least it was a moment to talk about forever with a few beers to dull any disappointment. Europe may or may not hate us for Brexit (I personally voted against it and I’m glad I did) but at the end of the day, winning is never impossible.
OMG, brexit again... just the song was not standing out enough to squeeze into jury or televote top 10 in any country. And UK hasn't any block voting except Ireland which decided to not vote this year (only 21st place)
@@escserg6731 UK got raised up in 2022 with 2nd place and 466 points
Yes, Sam Rider proofed that if the UK actually sends a good artist, a remarkable voice and a more than decent song it can actually do fine. Just look at Italy. It is a Big 5 country as well and is doing fine in ESC for some reason. While not constantly winning, they end up in top 10 spots regularly. Sweden has Melodienfestival, Italy has San Remo. Maybe it is time for the British to adopt such a system and do some UK-wide selection. Especially England has so many well known pop-artists. If you take it a bit more serious I'm sure you are capable of doing fine at ESC.
I'd love to say the same for Germany. They don't have even close to that number of international artists even though they have like 85 million inhabitants. It's like they aren't raised with musical creativity in their mind and thus send unknown people with questionable songs there. The last real artists with a good song they sent was Michael Schulte whose song is on my playlist still today. A similar issue can be seen in Austria. They have quite some respectable local artists there and then they send people no-one cares about and after ESC they are usually also forgotten and not further supported by their broadcasting union as well. Conchita Wurst was a one-in-a-century exception for that country and Cesar Sampson was also pushed by his fellow friends in juries as he is a known international producer. Other than that, Germanic countries really struggle in ESC in the past decades.
The song of 2015 in Austria is actually still a very popular song that is played regularly in the radio 🤔😅
Czech Republic didn't deserve that
How does Germany 2015 have 24+5 points but total 0? I don’t get it
Before 2016, each country's jury and televoting rankings were added together and the 1-12 points given according to the 'overall' ranking. So Germany placed in the top 9 of the separate televoting or jury lists of some countries, which would have given them 24+5 points these days, but back then, after combining the lists they did not fall in the points of any country. Same with Austria 2015
@@chemicalrubber thanks for the clarification
🇩🇪😭
@@chemicalrubber I'd argue that Austria was even worse in 2015 considering they didn't receive a single televote at all and the jury votes alone didn't rank them in a countries top 10 list either (not even close to) to attribute even a single point. IIRC Germany ended up at 11th position in one of the lists and therefore missed a single point by just a couple of local votes actually. The fact that Austria was ranked second to last in 2015 though stems from the fact that it performed before Germany in that year which in case of equal points will rank it above the other. But still, for Austria hosting that ESC in that year, that was more than a slap in its face actually and till this day never happened to any other hosting country. Some say that the voting was changed because of that, and I say that this change was probably overdue since the early 2000s when the participants rose from 20ish to todays almost 40ish contestants. Till this day, that ESC is one of my favorite ESCs of all time. A very strong ESC year for sure
Many returning countries in this video, not uncommon for some countries to get 0 points but this year was a total meme for sure

How do you know the 2 Belgian televote points in 2012 came from the Albanian jury? They don't even have the jury-by-jury and televote-by-televote results published on Wikipedia.
Yeah but it really looks like that. Albania almost never had televoting back then, so they had to use 100% jury voting. Plus wikipedia says the same (in the article about voting in Eurovision, in the section about zero points). And just look at their scores and compare them to other countries. They gave 12 to Montenegro, 10 to San Marino, 7 to Hungary, nothing to Russia, Iceland, Denmark and Ireland. The fact that these results are so different from other could mean only one thing - it was either 100% jury or 100% televoting. !00% televoting is almost impossible (especially with 10 to San Marino), so that means it was 100% jury voting, like with San Marino by obvious reasons (they also have unexpected points like 8 to Montenegro). Why Belgium has 2 televoting points? Becuase if countries use only one group (jury or televoting), not both, then their point are doubled to another group.
@@escserg6731 Never mind, I went onto Wikipedia and found out that Albania gave 2 points to Belgium and I already knew they used 100% jury voting, so now I know how.
