Zubat and the evolution line is one of my favourites and I love all of these convergents!

Actually I recently thought of Clefairy of every type, which is actually more like a joke forms:
Normal - it's body becomes brown and it loses it's small wings, also it's fur is slightly more shaggy.
Fire - it has two six-shooters, it playfully fires from randomly.
Water - a bleak blue drowned corpse with a small sailor's hat.
Grass - it blows a fat one, also it has bags under the eyes and the mold is growing from it's body.
Electric - it always takes a fallen pose and cries, pretending to be a victim and pointing a shocker at it's "enemy", it also has a lady's hat and a handbag.
Ice - like with water, but it's gross-white colour and wears a light autumn jacket.
Poison - a crying Clefairy in a yellow uniform (basically just pants), it's face and hands are covered in a green toxic goop.
Flying - a Clefairy attached to a kite with a firework on each side.
Rock - a tiny moon with ears and limbs poking out, it also has a :3 face drawn with a pink chalk.
Steel - a Clefairy with an iron muzzle mask and orange glasses, it has two chains on it's hands.
Bug - it has a broken hive on it's head and fully covered in bees.
Fighting - it has slightly thinner body and wears boxing gloves on both hands and feet, it also has a redder face and a spiky collar .
Ground - a sand blob-like Clefairy without limbs.
Dragon - a usual Clefairy with giant wings and just a bit bigger fangs, it's tail is unwrapped.
Psychic - it's face is half broken and the mystical vortex can be seen (yes, it's inspired by Apollyon's alternative form), the hands are separated and being held together by magic.
Ghost - just a smol cuter Gengar.
Dark - it has black ink under it's eyes and instead of swirl it has a tomahawk with a lilac fade, also it has a creepy butterfly tattoo on it's belly. The wrists and calves are covered in a black spiky fur.
Ngl every goddamn Zubat name is either amazing or lmao

I love all of them, well thought out amazing ideas and I think of all the design, Casbat is my favorite because it's giving me the dracula castle vibe. Also dribat design is so fun that you can even buried it in the ground upsidedown and still looks like a stalactites.

Oh my god not only are each of these designs so well made and creative, but the names?? those names are so good. I don't even think I can pick a favorite! If I had to try, zzbat just because... that name pfffff. Dewbat and shoobat are close ones though, and casbat's ornamental design elements are so so cool

it was so insanely hilarious i cried lauughing when the name popped up in my head, I literally could not get a commentary take where I didnt die laughing at it

In a massive cave locked off underground, insert legendary, only zubat filled every niche
Sometimes I use Zubat when I play Pokemon Platinum and Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl instead of Starley.
@@roxannwinslow6730 zubat and eventually crobat are amazing pokemon, even just as a team member, i use it alot it has great movesets too
@@BrushWithDeath I would use Woobat instead of Pidove in Pokemon Black and White because it's evolve form Swoobat is a better Flying type and would like it to get a Cross Gen Evolution.

Snobat is so so cuteeeeeeeee (I love Snowmen ☃️) ... And Illubat is just really cool ... I don't play pokemon so I always thought Zoobat was just a real cute design instead of an annyance haha . Its fun to see variations on that design, and your art is great!

Illubat definitely should have had Intimidate with its tendency to scare Pokemon.
ranking the zubats (they were all amazing)
1.shoobat(grass) - I love how it looks like a leaf. reminds me of walking leaf insects. the fur makes it look super adorable. this is by far the best fakemon I've ever seen
2.casbat(steel) I love the gothic look. reminds me alot of chandelure(wich is one of my faves aswell)
3.webat(bug) - looks super cute
4.boobat(ghost) - the idea of including golbats tounge was fun
5.soobat(fire) - I really like how it looks like a molten candle
6.illubat(psychic) - reminds me of allister from hazbin hotel, could be a mega evolution
7.dunbat(ground) - it's ears make it look like a cute frog
8.zzbat(electric) - amazing name
9.dewbat(water) - the best idea from those designs imo, especially the tail part
10.dribat(rock) - amazing idea
11.abat(normal) - looks like a mixture of lillipup, woobat and zubat
12.longbat(dragon) - gorgeous
13.goobat(poison) - I feel like if gamefreak actually designed a regional form, they would create something similar to this
14.snobat(ice) - reminds me of vanniluxe
15.bloobat(dark) - what golbat tried to be (but failed) haha
16.kombat (fighting) - amazing colours
17.zoombat(flying) - I like how fast it looks
18.Foobat (fairy) - great design, food inspired pokemon just aren't my cup of tea (except vanilluxe)
I would love to see these Zubats evolving
We'd go from Gotta Catch 'Em All to Gotta Collect All Variants. I love the idea of such an abundant Pokemon having so many forms, as if to show they can thrive anywhere.

Alternate idea: Abat is just a baseball bat with wings
Also, I kinda wished that they could've given Crobat at least a Mega Evolution or G-Max form.
Love the names and the creativity! My favorites are the Rock and Steel types, with very distinctive designs and very believable information about their lifestyle. I can totally see them in the game!

What I truly love about them all being convergent species rather than regional variants is that it implies that the basic Zubat body plan is extremely successful. Which, considering that it is found in most of the Pokémon world, is probably just true.
The only region it is known to not exist in is Paldea (and arguably Kitakami, but we see so little of Kitakami that we can only reasonably say that they don't live near Oni Mountain). They even show up in Unova in B2W2, having moved under Castelia of all places.
I agree! And like you said, it's only not in paldea which I would suspect is because Paldea really doesn't have many large cave systems other then Alfornada Cave unlike other regions with many forests or caves. Zubat would become a rarity or not native with the environment

As standalone designs my favourites are Casbat, Shoobat, and Boobat. But I also like Webat for how interesting the idea of it evolving is, I feel like there's really room to expand on that design in some cool ways.
These are all SO cute, I always love the bat pokemon and I would so catch every type of these just to have a flock of beautiful zubats

The Zubat line has been my favorite line since the beginning. I liked these names, and Abat is probably my favorite as a design, especially since I prefer the more simplistic styles that were common in early games. Now I want to see Abat's evolutions.
