Jeddah New Airport Terminal - Saudi Arabia’s Latest Landmark مطار جدة

- I have recently visited the Jeddah King AbdulAziz Int'l Airport New Terminal 1, which has partially opened for flights.
The video shows you both the exterior and interior, in both landside and airside of the new terminal. There is a large green garden in between the terminals to provide nice greenery and peace for travelers. I also visited Saudia new Al Fursan Lounge on the domestic side. On arrival, there is a large unique aquarium which house over 2,000 fishes. The new terminal connects directly to the train station which will run direct service to Makkah and Medina.
The official is stating that by Q1 next year, all existing flights from South Terminal will moved to the new Terminal 1. No date given from other airlines in North Terminal.
King AbdulAziz International Airport (KAIA) New Terminal has a total area of 810,000 square meters and a capacity for handling 30 million passengers a year. It will be able to accommodate up to 70 aircraft simultaneously, including the Airbus A380 superjumbo jet.
The new terminal has 46 gates, 84 boarding bridges. The 136 meter-high air traffic control (ATC) tower with its 9-meter antenna is the second tallest in the world after Kuala Lumpur Int'l.

As a child i lived for almost seven years in Saudi-Arabia. In these years the first Airport was build from the Hochtief AG and my father was part of the stuff. We lived near the Airport in a Camp. Never forget this amazing time, one of the biggest adventures in my young live. God bless the Kingdom of Saudi-Arabia and all the people who lived there❤️

My son wet to an Ivy League Boarding School in NY and there were a lot of students from Saudi Arabia and went there fathers came to visit, they were wearing their official Saudi garb, I found it very interesting. Chicken and check in sounds like I just hope my Arabic language spoken to native Saudis is as good as his English language now as it is his second language. Abdullah also did a fantastic job explaining the vision & future of his brand new airport. Can't wait to visit some day from the US. I really like the speed and efficiency that they're trying to make for a great customer experience there attention to detail along with ease of getting in and out. Wow, I can’t believe it took me this long to find this video.
My dad was one of the project managers of the old airport in the mid to late 70’s. That was a masterpiece in its day. The Haj terminal was ahead of it’s time then. We actually lived on the compound to the west of the runway 34L by the Kings terminal when there was nothing out there.
Thanks for sharing this, brought some good memories to mind.
