A complete traveler review of the new Beijing Daxing Airport. This video covers the transportation, the terminal (landside and airside), lounges and provide useful tips for traveler using Daxing Airport.
I took the Chinese High Speed Train from Beijing West Station to Daxing Airport in just 28 minutes with top speed over 200km/h. At Daxing, the first International flight to arrive was British Airways BA39 from London on 27 October 2019.
I met up with Cristiano Ceccato, from Zaha Hadid architecture firm which designed Daxing Airport arrived on this flight. Cristiano provided an in-depth discussion and introduction about the architecture and design philosophy of Daxing Airport. There are several great advantages and features of Daxing Airport shown in this video.
At the end of the video, I compare Daxing with new Istanbul Airport, which both opened this year. Enjoy the video!

Useless space all over the place with towering ceilings that waste even more money just changing light bulbs. Because some rich dude (or government) thinks of it as a "demonstration of power". rofl

As a Canadian American, when I visit China and then come back to LAX airport I feel embarrassed. The infrastructure in China is so much more futuristic and advanced, its not even close. Although I hope the US can have similar structures to China, it's most likely impossible. Simply due to the fact that the majority of the companies in US are privately owned, which means that Americans will only build infrastructure that generates the highest income. Sport centers and New Arenas are being built almost every year, because those infrastructures is what generates the highest income for private investors. Meanwhile in China, private companies are backed by state funding, which means they can build whatever they want, without worrying about going bankrupt. A good example is the bullet train from Sichuan to Lhasa, which is said to lose millions of dollars each year. A project like this would never be approved by the US government, and even if it is, as soon as the company finds out it doesn't generate a profit, it will be shut down.

This video just shows 60% of the magic.
1- The airport roof uses an irregular steel structure, with a total projected area of 360,000 square meters, a maximum diameter of more than 1.1 kilometers, and an earthquake-resistant fortification intensity of 8 degrees.
2- In order to achieve super strong vibration isolation, 1320 sets of vibration isolation devices are used throughout the terminal. Each vibration isolation device has a diameter ranging from 1200 mm to 1500 mm, and there are more than 100 viscous dampers.
3- Below the airport, there is a high-speed rail tunnel, which is also the world's first terminal underneath the high-speed rail. At that time, passengers can reach the terminal directly by taking the high-speed rail.
The roof of the 4-terminal building is a 180,000-square-meter full skylight structure. A total of 12,800 pieces of glass are used to form a free-form roof. Among them, no two of the 8,000 roof glass are the same.
5- The intelligent system can process about 30,000 pieces of luggage per hour, and can track the position of the luggage throughout the journey.
6- From the central point of the terminal to the farthest boarding gate, the passenger's walking time shall not exceed 8 minutes.
7- Passenger intelligent parking robot, just park the car at any position in the parking lot, and the intelligent robot will help you park.
8- The electric heating system is buried under the highway from Beijing Daxing Airport to Beijing. Even if the ambient temperature is below zero, the highway to the airport will not freeze.
9-The first airport in the world that does not require any airfare. The flight attendant wears electronic glasses and confirms the release by identifying the customer's face.(Only limited to Chinese customers can enjoy)
    10-

Me too, we in the West often have this notion that Chinese products and construction is "cheap". Until I visited China for business and witnessed them constructing a multi kilometer stretch of road. Multiple shits of thousands of people spanning 24 hours, hundreds of heavy equipment all working in unison. You'd have the diggers open the way, the excavators to flatten behind them, then these massive stamping machines to flatten the ground followed by a literal army of these machines with a giant drum thingy in front of them followed by armies of machine after machine.
The quality was extremely high and the whole thing was completed in one week. IN Vancouver our city takes 3 years to build a 100 meter stretch of road with 2 heavy machines and 20 people walking around for the majority of their shifts.

Everything you do the government is aware of, no matter if it's legal or not. The worst thing is that you can get arrested and put into a prison camp just because the government doesn't like you. If you don't like Xi Jinping and express that, you'll be arrested. For me and many other people living in free countries, China is your absolute worst nightmare. The thing I value the most is my freedom. Here in Europe, I'm able to say whatever I want, do whatever I want to do and go wherever I want to go. Nobody can stop me. That's what gives my life value.

The average life expectancy in Tibet is now 70+ , up from 35 when China took over in 1959. Yeah, lot is happening in Tibet, but mostly good for Tibet.

Actually, when the US pushed for globalization to further its economic dominance, it never expected that there could be a country that can beat it in the game created by itself, but when the people smarter than you are also working harder than you, they can even win the game even though the rules were set by the US. ( of course, the US won't admit this, they will only blame China for cheating, so that they can have the "legit" reason to break the rule and cheat)
Now China is also being blamed for help building infrastructure in other poor countries with its OBOR initiatives, the western media call it neo-colonialism or the debt-trap, but consider this: China currently is the only country in the world that can build high standard infrastructure with high efficiency and low cost, if the price offered by China is called debt trap, then there is no other way for those poor countries to develop, because China is the best offer they got, and the price will only go higher in the future, or those poor counties should just give up developing? It's easier to find fault with someone who actually does things, than with someone just talking empty ideas.
