In my opinion, Hakeem had a tougher championship run than Dirk. He defeated Barkley's Suns, Stockton and Malone, Robinson and Rodman, and Shaq/Penny. To top it off, 2 of those teams had 60+wins.

Everybody talks about how bad Scottie Pippen was in the 98 Finals but they forget how Pippen was injured in that 98 Finals. Pippen literally injured himself sacrificing himself for the team drawing 4 charges on Karl Malone G3 in that series & continue to draw charges on Malone after that game until his back gave out & broke.
That wasn’t even Pippen’s job to draw charges on Malone, that was Kukoc job to do that but Kukoc refused to do it after MJ told him to do it. I don’t know how you expect Pippen to not get injured drawing charges on a Malone who’s 6’9 265 pounds of muscles constantly lowering his shoulder & upper body on you when your in a size disadvantage.
But Pippen did those little intangible, dirty work things that helped his team win & made MJ’s job easier but fans & media just want to ignore that. Bet you MJ not taking no charges from Karl Malone

@@nathanc30 I agree that considering the assists makes Jokic a more dynamic offensive player that Hakeem, yet FOR ME being reliable offensively and defensively makes Hakeem more valuable in my opinion. Simply because I would want my Point Guard organizing and facilitating the offense. I admit that’s it’s cool to see a 7”0 guy create plays and get guys involved but that’s an unnecessary luxury as I don’t need that from the Big position. Having it would be a welcomed addition but I wouldn’t be searching for a 7”0 who is a better PG than Center.
To be a complete team I would want my players to be able to stay on island defending their guy without much help. Jokic isn’t that player I would choose Hakeem because though he’s not as great a playmaker as Jokic Hakeem wasn’t a horrible playmaker either and he was a reliably complete player. I don’t feel that with Jokic his defense leaves much to be desired for me.

Would Kd have blown a 3-1 lead if he was on the warriors instead of Steph? Well it’s really easy to say that Kd only has to win 1 game, but it was also really easy to say that about the Warriors with Steph at the time. You’re using hindsight bias because you know Curry doesn’t win the last 3 games, so all “Kd has to do is win 1”. You’d also be ignoring the fact that a lot of things were breaking wrong for Curry. He was dealing with injury, Draymond got suspended, Bogut got injured, Harrison Barnes couldn’t shoot, and the team as a whole was missing shots. So if you apply all those things to a Kd lead warriors team, yes Kd is just as likely to blow a 3-1 lead as Curry is, just like we saw in the 2016 WCF

As the 6th seed they didn't have home court advantage in any series. They beat the 3rd, 2nd & 1st seeds in the West - teams that had won >55games in the regular season. The Spurs also had the MVP of the league that year and they still best them.
In the Finals, they swept the No1 seeded Orlando Magic. They win a record 9 away games.

Back then, once MJ beat the 1st defender It was a clear lane to the basket. You could have a center and another guy meet him at the rim, but that's it. There was little to no zone defense either which can be effective against a scorer. Lebron Does fight through double teams, and Has the strength to finish at the basket with people hanging on him. Bron Even double or tripple teamed is great at finding the open shooter or cutter to the basket. They Did change the rule. I don't remember when but jordan definitely didn't have to deal with doubled teams for his whole career.

Dirk played amazing in his run and I dont want to take anything away from him or his ring, in my mind his ring was the 2nd greatest ever, extremely high praise.
That being said tho, if you look at all 4 of the series Hakeem played in ‘95, he absolutely dominated individually an an all-time level on both ends of the floor. His individual play outperformed what Dirk was able to do in most/any of his series in 2011. Hakeem never had homecourt and his team was always the underdog in every single round.
And then you look at the finals, the Magic were about a 60-win team with 2 superstars and great role players around them. That Magic team was one of the best teams ever to not win a ring. And Hakeem led the sweep against them in the finals as the 6th seed, and he played on a far higher level individually than Dirk did in the 6-game series in the finals against the Heat.

Im a Lebron fan and I still kind of agree with Del. I’m not 100% sure that KD gets one more off the Cavs in 2016 but considering how much slower the games got in 5,6, and 7 Kevin Durant ability to score over double teams and in isolation during half court offensive possessions gives the warriors a better chance to win ONE more game.
Imo they don't get that opportunity to go up 3-1 had they swapped KD with Steph. Stephs impact alone was the main reason they went up 3-1.

What a series that was up to that point. THEN BOOM, hero ball showed back up and they pissed all over the sheets.
