Lebron and KD moves are not the same. Lebron had barely any help and he along with wade and bosh created that heat team, it wasn’t already established. KD was in a situation where he had a team fully capable of making the finals. Then he joined a 73-9 team with the 1st and only unanimous MVP. Kd to the warriors would be more like lebron to the Celtics.
the pieces were there, the talent was there, the championship/winning mentality wasnt. westbrook proved that time and time again, harden too they cared more about stats and appearances than actual winning, this is why harden left to get all the eyes on him, thats why westbrook sucks hard in the playoffs altho he is a regular reason monster.
he was left with ibaka trying but ibaka aint even allstar level, he was and still is a good piece.

Karl Malone and John Stockton aren't under achievers whatsoever. Together, they won two MVPs, led their teams to many different deep playoff runs, won 50+ games in 13 different seasons, a perennial western conference contender, and they ran into the Chicago Bulls in the finals twice in a row and lost. What expectations did they fall short of truly? They weren't expected to be all time great players in their respective drafts, and yet Malone finished 2nd in all-time points in 2004, Stockton finished as the all time leader in assists and steals. Malone and Stockton are superstar players that never won the title as the main dudes; just like Barkley, Baylor, Ewing, Iverson, and Harden. Karl Malone, despite no titles, is considered a top three PF of all-time. Stockton is considered a top 7ish PG of all-time, Stockton was at no point ever expected to be a great player.

2:00:08 Its funny how people try to discredit Kawhi's accomplishments in 2019. He was traded to the franchise which was known as perennial underachievers, who had a PG in Kyle Lowry who was known as mentally weak and then he beat the 76ers with Joel Embiid, Jimmy Butler, Ben Simmons and Tobias Harris after being down 2-1 in that series, then they beat MVP Giannis Antentokounmpo after being 0-2 in the Eastern Conference finals, and then beat the Warriors 4-2. Now people say Kevin Durant was hurt, but those were the same people saying that the Warriors did not need Durant because they beat the Rockets and swept the Trailblazers in the WCSF and WCF. And people who said Klay got hurt, well he played Game 1, 4 and 5 completely and the Raptors were still beating them. And Kawhi was not even fully healthy by the end of the 2019 playoffs either.

My vote for Most Underachieving All-Time is Patrick Ewing. Dude had a team that was a legit contender for at least 10 years and never won once. At least Karl Malone has an MVP to his name. But Pat never won any individual awards despite coming into the NBA as one of the most hyped picks in NBA history. Not one MVP, DPOY, only once being named 1st team NBA, and just 3 all defense team, and that was just 2nd team. I respect him as a big, but based on expectations I got to take him as most underachieving.

T-Mac played 8 seasons as a prime-time superstar/all-star, and he never ONCE got any of his teams past the first round. That dumb dude up in the right corner literally knows nothing, T-Mac wasn't some sympathetic prematurely injured superstar like D-Roze or Penny Hardaway. McGrady played many seasons as an elite player and accomplished what? All star selections, a most improved player award, two scoring titles on struggling Magic teams, and what else? For his ability and draft potential, he underachieved for most of his career. McGrady shouldn't even be a HOFer, same with his cousin Vince Carter. They were both big under achievers.

The 2010 Cavs were the faves to come out of the east going into the 2010 playoffs actually, LOW. They were -500 faves to beat the 2010 +400 underdog Celtics in the ECSF, but they fell short in a winnable series. The NBA at that time was hyping a Kobe vs LeBron NBA Finals matchup so much with their puppet commercials for like two seasons straight. Unfortunately for most of the NBA world, LeBron and his Cavs lost to the Magic and Celtics back to back years so we never Kobe vs Bron for the title. So LeBron leaving in 2010 to form a super squad that became the immediate favorites to win it all isn't as different from KD's OKC departure to GSW really. Both became massive favorites and shifted the powers that be in their respective conferences. I still think those 2010 to 2014 Heat core of superstars/all-stars underachieved ultimately. In that 4 year span, they should have at least won 3 titles together, but obviously the 2011 Finals LeBron meltdown happened.
