- 🔥 IT'S FINALLY HERE! The GENUIS All-Electric Canoo Pickup Truck! 🔥
Strap in and brace yourself for an electrifying revolution on wheels! 🌩️ The Canoo Electric Pickup Truck isn't just a breakthrough; it's a total game-changer in the automotive world. This all-electric beast blends cutting-edge design with unmatched functionality, setting the streets ablaze with its cool and capable presence. But wait, there's more to this story than meets the eye.
🔹 500 miles of range? Check.
🔹 An extendable bed stretching up to 8 feet? Absolutely.
🔹 A compact yet powerful footprint? You bet.
But here's where the real suspense kicks in: How much does this electric marvel cost? What secrets does it hold under its sleek frame? And the million-dollar question: Can it take on the titans like Tesla and Ford in a head-to-head showdown of electric might?
Dive into my latest video where we unveil the mysterious and incredible Canoo Pickup Truck. This isn't just any ordinary pickup; it's a bold statement on the future of electric vehicles.

"It's a work horse and a show pony all rolled into one!" What a statement! Don't get me wrong. I love the Canoo. I would seriously consider buying one if they would ever seriously consider selling one to the general public and not public and private giants like Wal-Mart and the US Military!
Looks promising. If the price tag rivals the competition and it can be produced without a boatload of defects, this one will go far.
Agreed!
pkblilg here, do you or have you been in a ride or seen much
As a current owner of a Rivian R1T, as well as a reservation-holder and stockholder of Canoo, I'm interested to see what new developments come out of this company when the pickup truck becomes available to the general market. More competition can only mean good things for the electric truck market. 😊
If they can get the 320 km version out for a reasonable price it will sell pretty well.
Also a stock holder... every time I look at the stock I laugh... always in the red from when I bought it. Hope Canoo gets their act together
Do tell: How do you like your Rivian?
@@oneanddone7992 Hi! Thanks for asking. I owned three Chevy trucks for my business prior to the Rivian, and it is literally a "night and day" difference. So much quieter, smooth, and the technology is fantastic. While I do wish they had longer bed options, the gear tunnel, frunk, and under-bed storage give me plenty of space to store my tools. And I use the gear tunnel doors as extra flat work surface when working out in the field (still hoping they'll release the slide-out table).
They may not be for everyone, but electric range is perfect for my daily route and I love being able to pass the gas station and recharge in my garage overnight.
Most important, by no longer having to do any maintenance, the Rivian gives me more time to spend at home with my family. In my opinion, time is the most valuable commodity any of us will ever have. Once spent, it's gone forever. And by giving me more time it is a win in my book. 😊
500 mile range? I've never seen that claim for this vehicle from the company.
200+ miles is the range I've seen.
Perhaps you mean kilometers. I can see the lower power vehicles having 500 kilometers range. Not the pickups though.
This video is full of questionable info.
If you look at the military version, It has the short fold down side panels that convert it into a flatbed. That flat bed deck is higher than the top of the wheel wells. All that lost bed depth is taken up by the additional batteries needed to give it a 500 mile range. That option will likely cause the vehicle price to be over $100k. And it likely cuts its load capacity by the weight of those batteries. Under 1000 lbs would be my guess.
I thought the Canoo had gone under six months ago.
Some weird financial deal or hostile takeover or something.
Glad to see it’s still alive.
If they ever make it to Australia, I will be buying one.
The company is bleeding loads of cash but apparently they where expecting or had a cash injection...
Since I don't intend to drag race my pickup, or cruise the boulevard, I like it. A single cab long bed would be nice.
Not a long bed, but longer. Ditto here. I refuse to buy an extra/crew cab (with a 237 foot turning radius), and that's all the other manufacturers are making now, despite it not being necessary for electrics. CAFE standards don't apply. Retired, I'd love to trade my '07 Tundra in for a Canoo. Love the Army model. Seats 2, STEEL bedsides with molle crosshatch instead of fluorescent plastic hinges I've seen on consumer model folding bedsides. That REEKS.
I've been saying that for years. 6.5' on a 2 door option.
Ha ha, your irony is spot on!
Finally, something that looks as modern as its technology without resembling a 3 year olds idea of what a truck looks like. The whole skateboard design concept is probably the most comprehensive way to confront range anxiety, although DC super charging should have eliminated that. It never ceases to amaze me how resistant to progress people are, even when their concerns are completely addressed. I still have my wife telling me that she wants to wait until the technology is older before we go electric, even though I've told her that EVs are older than ICEs😅
The whole skateboard design is already widely used throughout the EV world to sandwich the battery pack. Cadillac is at the state of two level sandwich designing giant battery packs under the floor. The problem is excess weight, over 100kWh battery cars often overpass 3 tonnes, which is not just dangerous to pedestrians and lesser cars in collision but also very uneffective and contraproductive with resources.
Yes, I would buy. The real dilemma is which one!
Hopefully they make it into production, I would seriously consider buying one!!
They won’t
Wow, I lost count of how many options and versions were shown. Love the way the bed can extend. This is just what I need to replace my 2004 Tacoma.
I have read about these for years .... I would love a 4 door truck with 500 miles of range ... I will believe it when I see it
I've been comparing this design to the 60s and 70s COEs since this truck first came out. I'm so glad they are finally using it in thier videos. I love this truck and can't wait to buy it. Also, now that I see the Bulldogs bed flattens completely out, I'm loving that model even more. The Bulldog has the full crew cab, which was my only complaint with the original design. But I would buy either one tomorrow if I had the chance.
I totally agree!
500 mile range, huh? That's pretty amazing! That's more than any other EV on the market (that I know of)! It's also more than the range listed on the Canoo website (200 miles). To be honest, for what it is, a 200 mile range is still probably pretty good for this style vehicle.
How long does it take to fully charge a 500 mile battery?
Probably overnight, but who in the hell drives 500 miles per day anyway 😅
500 miles is way optimistic for battery technology that we know how to build today in a relatively unaerodynamic vehicle ... there's no way this matches either the Cd or the frontal area of slippery sedans on the market today that still don't reach that range. But ... actual real world EV experience here ... 400 km (260 mi) give or take, and with decent fast-charging, should be good enough for most people. It'll never be all things to all people, that's too much to ask, and it's futile to try. I really like this concept, and I hope they survive and build it.
People talk about 500 miles as if it's some type of Gee whiz technology. With current battery technology, it's nothing more than bigger battery capacity with added price tag and weight. 90% of daily commute is less than 100 miles a day, is paying $15K more for a bigger & heavier battery pack a good investment?
@vuvision
Not always true!
For example:
Have you ever noticed that the dollar store bought batteries last way less than an energizer or Duracell battery? It's not because it is lighter but the longer lasting batteries are built with higher quality materials.
Now, for these automotive batteries, they are built with more technology involved, which could change the amount of battery actually being used instead of wasted!
I would buy it when it becomes available. I love its variety of customized options - it’s like a Swiss Army knife!
This has a COE look, but there's no E! The motors in this are more than enough power for my trips to Home Depot. I really hope Canoo can achieve this price.
I hope the price doesn’t cut out the people that can’t afford Tesla or Ford. Can’t wait to see it , drive it and possibly purchase one. Very interesting vehicle.
I love these. I’ve seen one on the road not far from their HQ. That said, there’s no way they will be under $40k.
I’m hoping they succeed.
The battery probably cost 20k by itself. If they make the other parts out of cardboard, then maybe it can be done.
@@stevelouie5928 I'll never pay more than $45k for another car. When your my age and retired and only drive about 20 miles a week it doesn't make since for me to buy a $60k car or truck of any brand.
@@EarlBalentine I recommend buying a cpo luxury car. Half the depreciation is gone and you still get a warranty. I paid 20k for a 3 year old BMW from the dealer during the pandemic and it barely lost any value.
I would love to get this as a base for making an RV. For $22K I would totally get this, but I highly doubt that is going to be the price.
My thoughts exactley. Rad little camping rig it could be.
That's what the battery will cost.
According the the manufacturer web site, the range is 200 miles and batttery sizes are 20-64 KWH. 500 miles range is a hype.
I think he may have meant Kilometers. That's still high but maybe possible with just the driver and no cargo.
If you start at the top of a 1000 mile wide mountain, you might get 500 miles.
Range is terrible for a "venture capable " vehicle. Nothing like getting stuck in the wilderness.
@@randya9143 You can be stuck in the wilderness with any vehicle...I take that back. The thing that intrigues me most about EVs is that if you have the equipment to harness it, the fuel source is available just about anywhere you'd take the vehicle.
It may take a day or two depending on your setup but in a pinch, you can recharge those batteries without need of a service station.
That is true ! A couple of solar panels and an Inverter you are good to go. Put that tent on the back and find a spot by a good lake and you will have power & food all for free. This world gets any worse and I'm in !
500 miles............... game changer for sure, most cars or trucks coming out in 2025 barely get past 300.......... ill buy one
I'll believe it when it ACTUALLY comes to market.
Until then, it's just hype... just like the Cyber Truck until it came out.
I DO hope that the Canoo lives up the hype, though.
Didn't Amazon buy a bunch of vans from them?
Amazon bought vans from Rivian.
Haven’t personally seen any of them nor do I believe they are available for sale to the regular consumer.
@@mk1stWalmart has a order in for Canoo vans.
If it will ever be filled is another story
Canoe is the best bet in the EV market as far as I’m concerned, I think in the years to come, they will become the powerhouse🦌
Impressive
If all the promises (power, towing, range, & price) are delivered, I would definitely consider a Canoo over any other EV truck!
i'll believe it when it goes into production, prototype is ez.
They started production last year. "Yes, Canoo, an electric vehicle manufacturer, has officially started production. Canoo's CEO, Tony Aquila, said that the company will focus more on manufacturing in 2023 to further reduce operating expenses." First delivery was Nov 23 to the state of Ok.
Production is hard. And hugely significant, as you note.
They have many gov/corp contracts to fill, thus the pre-order status for retail for a whole year.
I'd be interested in this very cool vehicle from any country, but made the US?
Wow.
I Think these are going to be very big and put that fug-turd of a Tesla to shame sales wise.
I really like it - great design and decent numbers - where do I sign up?
$22k for a retro, 60's inspired, all electric truck ? ... absolutely 💯
I like this idea! Hopefully it comes out with longer range options and maybe a generator with it too with solar panels would like to pull over and charge it while traveling through the mountains. But having it Recreational, utilitarian truck which can travel farther and affordable is key!
The best electric cars have gas generators. Some have the same engines from their gas cars. Because having to buy and charge batteries that have a limited life cycle is good for the dealerships and battery manufacturers. No so much the earth.
What color is the sky in your pretty little world?
So, where is it? I put a deposit down on it one year ago. I wrote to company last month and asked if I could get delivery by the end of this year. Response: "crickets" I loved the design. Not so much the actual range (misstated in this promotion video). I think the deal here is some nice old duffers in Oklahoma took a quite credible stab at it
workng on Army and state government connections but sadly don't have the tech edge, money or energy to pull it off.
People’s Car award - timeless engineering design to stand the test
I like that it doesnt have a completely pointless "console" blocking the middle of the front seat!
This vehicle promises so much and has been doing so for years now. It’s time to stop promising and start delivering! Yes it’s great, yes it’s innovative and yes we are all interested in getting our hands on one, but until they start to produce them I won’t be holding my breath any longer
OH YES I love the new tech and versatility of the Canoo Pick-Up Truck! If Canoo can deliver on the price they promise, I will buy one. because i am planning to buy a new truck this spring.
I like how they aren't competing on specs. 0-60 in 2.6 seconds for a truck is just ridiculous.
I have no problem with Canoo focusing on fleet sales initially, but I hope they transition to personal sales within a year or two. Fleet sales are good for guaranteed large # sales but limits the profit as it is highly negotiated typically. I hope to get one of these to pull my Pebble Flow or Lightship L1 RV.
Canoo is so great. Can't wait to get any one of them!
At $22,000? That’s a hell yeah I’d buy it!
Thanks for this clip. After seeing the really disapointing soecs, and the prices, of the ct, the Canoo looks 10 times more appealing. Cant wait for some real testing
💯🎯
Wow. Looks promising.
Looks great. I would buy it if key functions were turn knobs for volume heat, temperature, fan speed, fan direction the actual vent to simplify. These functions should not be on a touchscreen.
Yes! I would buy it. I hold a reservation for a Cybertruck but I was taken back by the final sticker price and really, its size. The Canoo appears to be a more reasonable all-around vehicle.
I’d totally go for this if they can prove that they won’t have the same problems that seem to plague the EV industry. This is an extremely cool idea! I hope it works out well.
If the Canoo comes to The UK and Europe yes I would buy the People Carrier one for sure and if they made a camper version absolutely and a right-hand drive my order would be going in now.
It's ride by wire, you can literally put the steering wheel anywhere.
If Canoo comes anywhere I'll be amazed.
@@paulkelly4731 I sure hope so, otherwise Im out some serious cash. Stock price has only gone down since the 2021 crash.
For a affordable 22k-32k, I would like to be one of the first in line.
...and it`s not overloaded with displays :) This concept is brillant !
We had a same surprise in Germany: all were waiting for ID Buzz by VW... and then came a small clever startup from Northern Germany and offered the `XBus`... You will smile, when you see it :) Good Luck and Success to the `Canoo`, and a happy New Year to all of us !
Yes, pending a full inspection..trucks offer way more then cars. I'm liking it.
This is a great step towards filling the gap left by the Big-3 going for over-grown pickups that are mostly used for hauling giant egos around and once a year a fifth-wheel. The normal working world is waiting for an electric mini-truck, something basic that quite capably hauls stuff around town.
"See that Man down there, that is John Rambo,.............."
At last a car which could take the world by storm appealing to tradies, market stall holders, surfies or families, as did the VW kombi in the 50s/60s/70s. VW totally missed the boat with their idBuzz - who's going to pay US$60-100K for a kombi? Almost no one!
$22,000 is the only way to go. At this price, I will pre-order one. Where is the spare tire located ? Cyber truck offers NO spare tire ???
Love the look and features of this PU
Not sure how this pickup/ truck platform stacks up against the other EV's but it looks the best and most practical out of what's available. 😊
This truck looks like it should be a Tesla product....
I'm glad it's not. I like Elon but Tesla as a company kinda sucks, too similar to Apple.
Still driving my 1994 s 10 pick up. This truck at this price is a no brainer.
Looks pretty great.
It does!
I wasn't sure this was a robot/AI voice until they said the word 'chassis'.
SpaceX needs a thousand of those down at Starbase
I own a Tesla Model Y and considered a "fan boy" by my family. However, I would rather own a Canoo over a Cybertruck. I am rooting for Canoo to be successful, so much so that I just purchased 500 shares.
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Far more interesting than the Cybertruck
Of course but who wants to hear that especially now it just launched. 300+ miles range is garbage.
without charging infrastructures and software, interesting ain't gonna cut it.
😆 cybertrucks 48v just changed the entire industry. Every manufacturer will copy.
Don’t count your chickens before they hatch. You might be right but it’s too soon to be so cocksure.
Not really,,,,, The Cyber Truck is IN PRODUCTion-- this thing isn’t,, so if you live in fantasy land this is YOUR VEHICLE!!! Aren’t you EXCITED??!!!!
This is what I'm talking about. With all of the engine components out of the way its time to change what a truck looks like. Would love to see some more accessories expanded on.
Ever since this model premiered three years ago in a car show I have been waiting for it's entrance into the market.
Not the first time I see this "add" so just going to say I believe it when I see them for sale.
500 miles range ?
Yeahh right
It could be, with a large battery and it being MUCH lighter than the Cybertruck
@@mk1st It's possible but it will take loads of space from the cargo/boot area.(Just like the "extended range battery for the Ctruck).
See it to believe it but I respect you opinion.
I saw this a few years ago and thought it was amazing and still think it is.
Anything below 30k is great but 22k is greater! I love the truck and its styling and optional configurations. Good luck to them in 2024! I sure wish I could afford one.
Fabulous, getting one as soon as possible !
I'd buy one. I love the funky looks and the amazing utility. And at this price point? Heck yeah!
Shares are currently trading @ 24 cents. On December 11th, 2020, GOEV was trading @ over $20.
for 22k id buy the truck...500 mile range 7700 lb towing cap...perfect for my next camping gear excursion truck.
I would like to see a smaller version truck with a bigger bed. So no rear seats but a king cab design is OK. This way it could be lighter and be used more effectively for hauling loads to the dump, carrying sheets of plywood, or what have you. The military version with higher ground clearance also looks interesting.
Very nice video review thank you. This thing has so much potential and I have come around to its looks as well. They have had alot of financial trouble and I thought they were bankrupt but maybe not. I hope they can bring this thing out as I might just buy one if it is maneuverable to be an every day driver but I need a lot more info about the status of the company.
Cmon bring it to market already.
This is the only EV I am Remotely interested in- Canoo please provide one to TFL asap
If they can give it the versatility of the 1970 Ford flat nose van, with all wheel drive and cargo style and 5000 pound towing with 300 mile range. And under 30k us I feel they would have a lot of construction companies buys and home service companies. If the get it out at $22k they would be back logged with orders. At $22k if it has the versatility I would definitely buy it.
I hear the two trim levels to pick from are named someday and maybe. These would sell like hotcakes.
I am intrigued by both the minivan and pickup versions. I like their overall size. They are not huge like the Lightning, Cybertruck and Hummer. My favorite is the military tactical version, but I also like the extending bed version of the pickup a lot for its ease of access and flexibility.
Is it going to cost $22,000? Definitely not. Closer to $40,000 for the entry 2 wheel drive model. Probably more.
As far as range goes, a realistic real world range of 250 to 300 miles works for me. Especially if they can make that work with the 84 kWh battery and support fast charging so you can recharge to 80-85% in 20 to 30 minutes at a fast charger. 300 to 400 hp is plenty of power for me. While fun, I don’t really need under 4 second zero to 60 acceleration times. I would seldom actually use it. I do like the all wheel drive function though. With off road tires and the see through front lower windshield, that would make off road maneuvering a snap.
Neat units. But when and where?
indeed, I would wait until the van was available, and put a ramp on it for accessibility. I'm a wheelchair user.
As I understand it they have a wheelchair option for their vans.
I'm a wheelchair user too. I've been driving two door cars most of my life, as they offer the room I need to get my ultra-light wheelchair in and out of the vehicle. My only beef with all EV companies is make the damn things so that lower income people can actually buy them!!! I was all set to buy a 2024 Fiat 500e because--it being so small, with a very modest range of 240kms--I figured I'd finally found an EV that I could afford. ...But no... I just found out that they would be selling them at the ridiculous price of $43K+ CAD for a "Red" edition. Unfreaking believable!!! For those prices, you buy a much bigger, far more practical with almost twice the range in a Kia Niro or it's Hyundai equivalent. ...Still way out of my price range, but twice the vehicle of the 500e.
Sounds awesome! Exactly what I'm looking for !
A. I. created and voiced this advertisement for Canoo. Obviously, everybody at Canoo speaks with vocal fry. Look how they spelled the name.
I like the prototype rigs.
Great truck, great price together they can be hard to beat. Just as long as recalls at a minimum !
Very exciting truck.
If it delivers what it offers at half of the price of Cybertruck, I will buy it.
If they make a camping version I would buy one! Like the style and simplicity.
I want a Canoo truck. Definitely!
L O V E that steering wheel. Buttons on top, display in the center for climate control, stalks, extra display upfront for the driving stuff and music.
It will never come out just like their canoo van never came out
In reality it's not forward control, luckily. While it looks like this from the outside the driver is behind the front wheels, and as a result is not exposed to the more uncomfortable ride of being on top of the front wheels like forward control. If they manage to sell it for $22,000 I will be extremely surprised.
I like the looks and tech of this PU. I'm up to get one!
…in the meantime stock price now down to .25 cents.
I would love one of these. After I get off work, I’ll park my ICE vehicle & drive this around. One charge could probably last me 2mths or longer.
Canoo needs to have something they can turn around and retake early-stage stock valuation!
Wouldn’t have much use for the truck. But definitely would love to have the all wheel drive van version
I would love both, the Truck and Van
Looks great
I'm not necessarily for or against EVs, but I'm SOLD!! (particularly the van) When and where can I sign up? This thing makes the TESLA PICK UP look like something a 1st grader designed. I love this thing! It reminds me of my Hot Wheels Deora, from the late 60s
💯🎯
Its finally coming
I've been wondering for years why this design has not been introduced in an ultra-modern format. A Toyota Hi Ace pick up, what took them so long?
I like all the built-ins.
I can't wait to see the vehicles and look forward to being a customer.
I like it styling wise over any of the others. I'm considering a new tow vehicle for a 4500 pound RV trailer. Going to need to hear the specs for that application.
I do like the idea, but traveling between Boise Idaho and Spearfish South Dakota, there's a ton of open land with few locations to charge up. I know its coming, and I'd like to be a pioneer in one of these. Towing a trailer is most likely going to reduce the range and that could be a deal breaker, at least for now.
If they are using the Tesla charging network that’s not an issue from Boise to spearfish. I was impressed with how many regular charging stations are available.
@@bnight.7996 Why pull a trailer. Get the van configured as an rv?
We're at the end of the year as it is are they taking orders or blowing smoke?
Nothing happens until someone sells something and some takes delivery.
Canoo is a great company with fine vehicles and tech. They could use a big money partner and having Tesla charging access is smart move. The USG contract would be a boost too.
Would Buy. Love the design!
