Had one. Bought it in 2002 and wish I kept it. I thrashed the hell out of it. Was good for 15 minutes of fun on Nimh power. The transmission on the original wasn’t built for brushless so the idler gears went quick if you converted it. This video brings back good memories. I was in college back then and my emaxx provided me with a few minutes of fun between study sessions.

I worked all summer when i was 13 in 03 for my parents making $20 a day. Saved up and bought the green version. Still have it. Recently went through it all and found a nos blue body for it. They were awesome trucks

Pretty cool E-Maxx.. I have those same wheels 1in offset with Road Rage tires from my old SportMaxx. I just got a new Jato 3.3 yesterday from my LHS. Gonna start break in today.
I just put a jato together a few weeks ago and it has the 3.3 in it. I bought it from a guy that was cleaning out his spare bedroom and I was surprised that it at everything there and plus some.

@@gregrogers3030 Awsome about getting the Jato. He is showing the E Maxx. The SportMaxx is a 2wd nitro T-Maxx with a single speed transmission. Traxxas Discontinued that model quite a few years back.

I remember Traxxas had recalled the first gen esc’s for malfunctioning and fires. They then went to Novak for help. Thanks for sharing -Great truck. ✌️

Happy Late Birthday my fellow Traxxas E-MAXX enthusiast. For a 2S run with terrible old vintage electronics on a 60 AMP esc, I must say this thing was DOPE!! Soon I will be putting in a more modern ESC, but might still run this original Motor, not sure yet.

hey bro!! Yup man, I remember my early RC days! Back then the salary was 5.25 an hour for me, working in a grocery store (my first job when I got my working papers). Imagine saving 3-4 hundred bucks at that rate, and that's before taxes.

Working on one of these in my hobbyshop today..Needed lots of work..Transmitter,Servo,Tires,Batteries and a ESC..I might just go brushless for customer..That brushless system you have is for on road 10th and 12th scale cars

This is what caused my addiction fot hobby!! I bought a damn near brand new one from my barber for 100$ about 6 years ago. I had sold it for 240$ which was stupid. Wish I kept it. didn't realize what I had but Wish I still had it

I can say two speed baby because I have the same exact x-maxx. Mine still has the original twin titan motors and the same speed control and it has the original x-Maxx wheels and tires. But I’m sure there will be others on here that have ten of them. I always thought that I had to stop the truck completely before shifting. Thanks for the info.

Hell ye bro! I'm glad you found this video, I'm 100% proud of this E-maxx, the only electric with a shift on the fly 2-speed. How cool is that right!! Bro I used to own. fully stock one back then, it was amazing even on the brushed motors, for the first 3 minutes of the battery pack, ahaha.

Oh the nostalgia. I have one of those, same body even. Lots of fun but they do not like "upgrades". Only things that make sense on them are RPM arms, shock towers and skid plates. I had a cheapo 10th scale brushless combo in mine at one point, fun on 2s but on 3s it just blows driveshafts every time you pin it, went back to the stock brushed combo because of that. Oh yea and the 2-speed does not like being shifted on power, that's an easy way to blow up your transmission on these.
Jenny's RC super cheap I love them. You should do the losi lst diff mod on it then it'll be bulletproof.
You gotta have plastic bulkheads though because you gotta dremel alittle

hey bro! Glad you saw this video, I was really excited to run this Vintage truck finally. I will tell you this, that thick aluminum was a damn BIT*H to bend back, I had to use a hardcore vise and a huge hammer. It's not like the modern softer aluminum used in most RCs.
Haha It has active aero... the front aluminum mount changes angle when it hits 2 SPEED BABY!

I had a brushless e-revo with those tyres and they caused the car to flip over all the time , the badlands or the other ones where so much better.
Still got my original E-maxx I pre-ordered when it first came out. Not the fastest truck, but I could make it wheelie all day on the bumper. The esc it originally came with was junk and got recalled to be replaced by the Novak one.

I’m such an idiot because I cut up the body to fit onto my brothers s-maxx, yes I said s-maxx, not sportmaxx or t maxx I’m talking about the 2wd 2speed S maxx with a stadium truck body!! @@nomusicrc Honeslty it's the VAST amount of comments I get overall, on many videos across the board. Most you tubers will just give you basic COPY -PASTE response, which is easy for them and generic. Mine actually go into detail and I offer a full dialogue (one of the reasons I started making videos in the first place)>. Plus I currently spend like 2 hours a day on comments, and still I'm swamped.

Lol, that's the same ESC, except mine is off branded, that I put into my a959-b.
Drop a dual brushless system into it. Dual 540 or 550 motors and 2 large pinion gears. It would be fun even if little more than a novelty.

I don't have the 2 speed model but I just picked up 2 emaxxs for 300. 1 has the standard evx2 and the other has the lipo ready evx2. Still fun trucks

Definitely not designed for a heavy Emaxx. I’d be swapping it out for an 1/8 scale brushless combo. Cool vintage truck though 😎👍🏻

hey y fellow E_maxx Brother!! you're 100% totally right, the original 3906 model with the 2-SPeed is the only one worth getting I would say. The other more modern e-maxxes are still terrific but they are absolutely no different than any other electric truck, you know! That 2-speed makes all the difference.
Man I want some Chinese now. Working now but I’ll get some on Wednesday my days off. I have a original Emaxx 3906 as well but mine is mostly original excep custom painted body and some integy skid plates. I rebuilt everything on it about 8 years ago so it’s like new. I never drive it lol. I don’t know why I guess more a personal thing

A few years ago I found some original Proline Maxx Masher tires I think they were called and Proline Weld wheels remember those? The tires were a bit faded but I mean they are 20 plus years old. hey dude, yes, looking for some vintage E-MAXX parts is not easy at this point, I agree. Well the good part is, it's just a cosmetic part really, but it does keep dirt from chewing up the teeth at times. Your best bet is to by a spare parts truck or ebay.
I think it would be awesome if you ran that against a T-Max just to show us the difference

whats up bro! I forgot to mention that the rear diff I put into this thing is from the modern T-maxx 3.3. They fit with no problems at all, only had to shave a tiny bit of one of the housing portions a little. I did tons of research, and concluded that the REVO diffs don't fit, hmmm!! This is news to me. Anyway, lets run these!! Thanks for the info.

hey my dude! Yes me too! My stock electronics work btw, you can't kill that old NOVAK and TITAN motor system, they are super reliable. Worst case scenario just put a regular mild brushless system in there and roll.....
