- I've noticed that doing yarn faux locs take a lot of time. So, I thought I would share how I make pre-made yarn locs in less time. When making my locs, it takes me about 2 days to a week depending on how long & how many I make. This includes cutting yarn into the lengths I want. Once I have finished, I soak them in hot boiling water to remove the stiffness (not shown in video) & add a few drops of my coco butter shampoo to make them smell nice. In my next video, I will show how I install them. Once done, slide the pre-made dread off for string. The top portion where your wrapping tail is tied off is the loop. I forgot to put that part in 😄Feel free to comment, ask a question, like and/or share 😊

Why did I get so excited when the music came on? Wasn't expecting 30 Seconds to Mars on a faux locs vid. Love this song!
Same, it totally caught me off guard
Im now in my early 30s and finally at the point in my life where I dont give a fuck what people think of me. For so long I was a pretty little white girl with ass length blonde hair and its just not who ive truly wanted to be. Finally I am at the point in my life where Im doing what I want. Looking the way I want. I chopped off that ass length hair and died it hot pink. Im finally doing my thing. The way I was ment to be. I just wish I had the balls to find myself earlier. Thank you for this video.
Love the music choice
The SONG
Thank you so much for this video. Last time I did mine they took forever to do. Now I am going to prep for some days then take a day to install
Great video. Awesome explaining! Badass song as well! ❤💜💛

This was useful
Wow thank you!
I love the music choice
choiceof music is gr8
Hmm..it was all good until the end where you have to have a little burnt stub on the bottom of your dread lol. I think I might just leave that end kind of shaggy.
I was thinking, I don't want burnt ends touching me all the time, I just know that ain't gonna feel right
🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
love 30 seconds to mars.. and love this method.. my only question is how to get it off the rope.. do you slide it off or how do you do it?
Plump Cosplay Yes. You slide it off either side.
Ur blue
This was a really helpful video! I personally didn't like the music but its all good! Thank you so much for putting this out here on the interest and HAPPY HOILIDAYS! :)
I've been trying to get this for hours. I keep messing up on getting around the last part twisting at the top. I dont get what I'm doing wrong. But when I think I have it it starts to unravel
Are you talking about when you start to wrap?
Awesome video! Even better music!
Thank you, I was thinking about making wool ones but I think this might be a better place to start. How comfortable are they to sleep in?
Thank yoooooooouh! ♡
What do you do with the tails from the wrapped yarn after you tie them off? Do you leave them loose or trim them down?
I do have a video for that I will post on Tuesday
If you use pure wool yarn, you can seal the end by palm rolling the dread with a bit of warm soapy water.
how do you install em?
There's another video on how I instill them.
I like your method for making fake locs. but where's the loop to attach this to the hair? how would you do that.
Once done, slide the pre-made dread off for string. The top portion where your wrapping tail is tied off is the loop. Hope that helps. I forgot to put that part in 😄
Love it! How many do you make for a full (big) head person like me? Loved the music too!
Honey BAE thank you! The amount depends on the size is your sections. I usually make 100 to be on the safe side. A set is usually 60-80.
Goodness, how do you install on long hair?
MY HAIRS A FEW INCHES PAST MY BOOOOOBIIIIES!!!! 😭😭😭😭😭🚨🚨🚨
@@bassafratz BOOOOBBIIIEESS 😂
so how do i get rid of the burnt up dread ends?
You don't. It keeps it from unraveling. Not noticeable on darker yarn.
@@loonuhmoon2595 i've seen others without burnt up ends on light colored hair. im trying to learn this because i plan on doing this for a doll but i want the ends to look natural instead of burnt up. i guess i'll either paint the ends or use glue that is translucent when it dries.
@@RedRosemaryDollyou can use a clothes iron or hair straightener. Just put the dreadlock(s) between some parchment paper so you don't get melted yarn all over stuff. I know I'm almost a year late to this, but hey, future reference 😅
thanks@@void0702
@@RedRosemaryDollit’s been a year but you can get a latch hook or a needle and pull them back up into the loc. no end burning. With dark locs you can also use wig glue. If you want pointed ends finger roll.
So the end just stays burned like that?
Yup
Yarn is made from oil. Well type is anyways. Therefore its basically plastic and melts. 90 percent of your clothes are made from synthetic things also. Many yoga pants melt on contact with fire.
Love this song what is it?
Sandy Pusineri it's The Kill by 30 Second To Mars
Do you have to taper it at the end?
No
How do you measure out the length
Destinee Couch the outer yarn you use to wrap around the inner yarn should be longer. Example, if your inner yarn is 16in, your wrapping yarn should be twice the length about 32in.
