    I have to say, you're one of the few people who look like they were born with the bright pink hair color. It's amazingly complimentary to your skin tone! I'm about to turn sixty and have a few things that have been on my bucket list and one of them is these loc's. Thank you for the tutorial!

    Not saying these aren’t “real” dreads, but for real dreads no matter the amount of time you have actually had your own hair dreaded you can brush them out. You never have to shave your hair to get rid of dreadlocks. Most people don’t know that. But girl this is awesome!

I thought the same exact thing before researching more into it all. love your video and color choice 💜

    • @wutarrwedoin
      @wutarrwedoin Před rokem +2

      @@tillytenillle88 hey! For the ends get you a crochet hook (the SMALL side 0.7, 0.6, or 0.5) or a felting needle (they are different than regular needles because they have little notches on it). For the both methods you'll end it just as you did here but for the hook you'll stick it in and grab some of the fibers and pull them out to the other side (do this all around multiple times) the twist in your hands. For the felting needle you'll literally just jab it in and out multiple times and those notches will grab the fibers and pull them merging them together...then twist in the palms as well! This is a much better method...you really doing even need the knot you can create a nice tapered end with these two methods if you don't make a large knot!

    • @MischMagnifique
      @MischMagnifique Před rokem +2

      I would also suggest not making a knot since it looks a bit bulky. And to seal the ends, you can use a hair straightener. Sandwich the ends with some parchment/ baking paper to protect the straightener from molten yarn.

    I used to do my hair back in the day, can I recommend something ... I would finish the ends of mine with a drop of nail glue.. it would melt the kankelon ( fake hair) and could also be used on my real hair too.. then when I wanted to take my brains out, snip the tiny end.

  • @KnittyKitty215
    @KnittyKitty215 Před 5 měsíci

    Maybe you could use a flat iron or curling iron on the ends. On low heat but hot enough to melt a bit. It might do the trick without discoloring them.

    Dreads do not need to be shaved off which I seen someone already said. Seriously tho, you can braid dreads in your hair the same way. They're just as easy to change out if not easier cuz you don't have to wrap the whole thing.

    I wear synthetic curly dreadlocks and they are extremely low maintenance and it takes me like 3 minutes to fix my hair.

  • @Spread_Hope_Like_Fire

    You should just do real dreads. They don't ruin your hair at all, it's a protective style. Do a few at the back (twist and rip/crochet method would likely work best for your hair type) and see how you like it. If it's not your thing you can always brush them out but if you love it you can do more✌️

      I also have Norse ancestry (Swedish and Norwegian) but I also have a few extended family members that are black. Haitian Creole to be exact. So I've got such weird blend of culture lol. Part of my family is Native American, then you've got those that are Norse, German, and other western European countries, then Haitian Creole 😂 I love it.
