The film didn't really show any of the killings so it wasn't even that dark. It was honestly amazing...the whole time i actually thought Ted didn't do it...even though I knew he did 🤣🤔
Thalia Messmer out of respect for the victims families, thats most likely why. My mom remembers this time frame, people in Washington state were in a big panic that even hitch hikers werent asking for rides as much anymore. My mother even had a gun to protect her and her kids when he was in the area. I did a report on Ted in my college class, this man was sick but strange because he was very intelligent and smart. Like Richard Ramirez, he was very smart.
I mean this movie is Liz perspective and she truly thought he didn’t do anything well wanted to believe he didn’t do anything

This movie was so good that it kinda made me feel bad for Bundy weirdly (during beginning of the movie), because Zac played that “charming/it wasn’t me” role sooo good it was scary. Zac did so amazing♥️.
I didn't feel for him at all. I was waiting for him to get caught.
And of course Bundy was a horrible person, but the way Zac portrayed him during the beginning of the movie made ME feel as if he was maybe innocent (but obviously he was not, so don’t come for me).
Wow! I thought the same thing. I think these actors play their roles like this. Like Farrah Fawcett played Diane Downs. I felt so sorry for her. It they were cold blooded killers.
And that is really terrifying! Ted Bundy was just that charming in real life. Can you imagine being one of the victims who encountered him? Zac was just portraying him but Ted, well he embodied charisma. Shivers.
Personally, I don’t think Zac did a bad job. But from watching old footage of Bundy, Bundy acted a little bit more psychotic, a little bit more on edge. I feel Zac played a “smooth” bundy rather than the Bundy I saw on those tapes. Just my personal opinion, like I said, Zac did not do a bad job at the slightest.
Before watching the movie all I seen was Troy Bolton from High school Musical but now all I see is Ted Bundy...

eh really? Although I love Zac and most of the projects he does... I didn't feel like he did any justice for this role. I didn't feel like I was watching the psychopath serial killer Ted Bundy, but just Zac Efron saying lines that Ted Bundy would/did say. Moments where you see something ticking inside of Ted Bundy as he speaks and the eloquence he speaks with.. you don't get any of that from Zac. Even in scenes where Ted Bundy is supposed to be frantic or worn out, Zac was just fine and was just saying his lines.
There's something terrifying while watching Ted Bundy, something that makes your skin crawl. but i watched this movie with a straight face.
@@minachoi1042 I totally felt the same way. I hate true crime stories because they freak me out, and I only got up the courage to watch this one because I heard he'd done a good job. But I was surprisingly relaxed throughout the movie and I realized it was because I felt like I was watching Zac Efron playing a character rather than watching Ted Bundy.
@@minachoi1042 The only reason why I said this because after watching him play the role of Troy Bolton in high school musical, that's all I ever have seen him as in movies I watched him in. When I just saw the movie he played as Ted Bundy, I couldn't get him out of my head because all I see is ted Bundy now. Zac isn't Troy in my eyes anymore. He's Ted Bundy (not meaning like actual but in character wise) Once I seen a picture of Ted and looked at Zac in his character costume, I was like oh hell.
I literally watched this movie twice in a row lol. I watched it alone then with my dad right after. I really enjoyed it and was very impressed with Zac and Lily.

Aw Zac seems nervous and to have some anxiety. Paying attention to his facial expressions and the way he speaks you can feel what he feels in that moment
I've watched every Ted movie there is out there, Zac did a wonderful job. Ted knew what he was doing, most people couldn't imagine him doing such heinous crimes which Zac portrayed perfectly. I (almost) felt sorry for him in the beginning but that's what he wanted. I watch the tapes and easily felt manipulated by Ted , it was so scary. I just feel so sad for his victims. Ted was truly a sick man!

I love that they went really deep into their roles to make the movie best as possible, even meeting with Liz to get more insight on everything, it’s amazing they were able to do that.
Also- I applaud her for not falling in love with him 😂 If he looked at me like that & called me mesmerizing I’d actually fall in love right then and there hahahah.
You can tell they really enjoyed taking part in a film like this. They’re so genuine & intelligent i love them.

after playing Bundy, Im looking forward to seeing what other roles Zac can come across in his career, the both of them actually. I thought they did a pretty good job. I mean it wasn't the best movie ever, but it wasn't a bad film. I think its more about how the public viewed Bundy along with his girlfriend and how we are so manipulated by him

Joe Berlinger is an incredible director. I wasn’t shocked to see his name appear during the credits. He did a series on Spike that was filmed in my hometown about all the women that keep disappearing here.
Thought the movie was great and thought Zac was very good at this portrayal. Listen to other interview Zac did a very good job explaining why this was not glamorizing Ted. He explains it well. This movie was a one sided story from the perspective of a young single mom who thought Ted was her world for many years. It’s her perspective on how and why she stuck with and believed Ted for so long. My husband and I watched together and the one thing we wished it would have shown just for the sake of this young generation just learning or hearing about Ted Bundy that they would not know how actual bad sick and evil Ted Bundy was, this movie doesn’t go into any details about any of the horrendous things he did.
The courtroom scenes did describe some of his actions, moreso the sorority house monstrosities. That was definitely a stomach churner listening to that. Plus, the clips at the end.
God I love them !!!!! I can’t get enough of both of them. They did an awesome job.

Am I the only one that thought this movie wasn’t great? I was fascinated by the tapes but this movie felt like there was nothing in it. The time jumps were huge and what we learned was very little. It basically was Bundy just being accused and that’s it.

But that’s what it is. Bundy continued killing and getting out of jail. Throughout those years he was in jail. There’s not much else he can do ya know?
I personally thought the film did a great job of portraying it through Liz's eyes. She was so confused and at first, genuinely thought it couldn't be Ted, that is was a huge misunderstanding. The movie portrays Ted in a way that he's being accused, but we see minimal evidence as the movie is simply supposed to portray what Liz is seeing and understanding. How could she truly comprehend that the 'love of her life' was a serial killer? The movie is confusing when it came to the facts (I felt like I grasped a bit more having watched the Tapes as you mentioned), but I think it allows us to really understand what was going on in her mind. Was he guilty? Was he falsely confused? It isn't until the very end that we get a definitive answer, and that is what Liz experienced. From her perspective, it really was just him being accused because he continued to maintain his innocence to the public and to her. I think that's why it was more of an emotional drama than a 'documentary' based movie. Just my opinion!

So a few things here, uhhh I dont think the movie paid tribute to the victims. It was more bout how much he loved her, constantly calling her. Couldn't be without her. It was a love story. The end did put up the victims names.
