The new balancing patch for Y6S1 of Rainbow Six Siege (Operation Crimson Heist) is now live and with that comes another nerf to one of the community's favourite operators: Jackal! With this patch, the devs are taking aim at his primary weapon, the C7E Assault Rifle and this time it seems as if the change is 100% aimed at reducing Jackal's ban rate because his most recent performance stats show that his win rate is perfectly balanced. So, how bad is the gun now and how does it stack up to his other main primary weapon, the PDW9? Let's go and find out!

A longer barrel means more time for the powder to burn which means a faster projectile so more "Damage"
@@joshburke4083 in reality it is true, the longer the barrel the more friction a bullet have to overcome. for 5.56, beyond 20 inch barrel, muzzle velocity starts to decline. but jackal have 20 inch barrel gun and yes ubisoft sucks at balancing things.
@@fbmw98 thats the dumbest thing ive ever heard, the m16's barrel length is literally 20 inches, and achieves a higher velocity than the m4a1 and better long-range performance with an m855 round. Any barrel that is producing too much 'friction" at less than 30 inches is simoly a poodly designed barrel XD
@@fbmw98 It all comes down to the load of your cartridge. Too long, yes friction will eventually take over (but wouldn't be very wieldable by time it does start to slow down) but too short; low muzzle velocity and huge fireball. So it is crazy that Jackal's gun would do less damage than say Maverick's Mk18 but of course this is siege, not EFT.
Gotta love how buck and jackal use the same gun, just different variations, bucks is setup for CQB and Jackals with a long barrel... yet jackal has shorter range...

@@necfreon6259 nope they are both Colt weapon setups. C7 has a heavy barrel while the C8 has the barrel shroud to accommodate the masterkey.

@@DUxMORTEM also, not a masterkey, it's an mass with custom recoil system for semiautomatic shooting, which would likely make it too heavy to be an underbarrel realistically. A masterkey is tube magazine fed with a more traditional pump than the mass' side bolt-grip.
I can count on both hands how many times I've said "hey guys, let's ban jackal, I don't wanna deal with his C7E". In fact, I can count that with no hands

I wish they would just change it so only jackal knows the location, not the entire team
I mean why Not reduce the footstep duration from 90 to like 30 seconds? The most annoying aspect of jackal for me is that je can scan you when he enters somewhere where you have been 80 seconds ago.

He will be the next blackbeard if they keep this up, dont replace his shield, just nerf his kit into the dirt so no one picks him. I like your idea lower the tracking time frame and I'd also like what I said, make it so instead of a button press for the enemy location for the whole team, to needing good map knowledge to let your teammates know the roamers location cause only jackal gets the red ping

Back when they reworked his tracking, they claimed that the feedback they were getting from players was all about how annoying his ability is... So they know what players are thinking, they just choose to ignore that knowledge 🤣

I want to see how his ability performs if you can't ping the enemy, just the footsteps remain visible for the original duration. Maybe his ability can scan the footprint to identify the operator's identity only.

It's not even the roamer counter, its the fact that he can gain exact intel on enemy players without literally no work or reliable counter (caveira doesn't count she's terrible in higher leagues).
Imagine nerfing a gun of an operator who's banned SOLEly (I am not sorry) because of his gadget.
Trust me the C7E was a big reason why Jackal was banned :P The Gadget is just a bigger reason
Why are you blaming you ubisoft for this? Blame the people who safety ban jackle because they cant roam properly, furthermore isnt the entire reason for banning an operator based solely on their gadget

@@ajemison3 First of all, going off site to reinforce a hatch doesnt constitute roaming, in my stack we have all our anchors do hatches so if there is a jackle they dont get any viable intel off it, and secondly roaming isnt just aimlessly wandering around the map looking for a free pick, it's also extending off of site and holding specific areas to try and waste time and utility and possibly get picks, if your just aimlessly wandering around when theres not a viable flank its your fault for getting tracked by jackle

Ubisoft: introduces Kali a sniper
I was expecting a quick scope machine. Then they literally rivet the freaking scope to the top of the receiver. Nice weapon design Ubi.
Kali's primaries are pretty good. One has 900 rpm and decent recoil so headshotting is not hard. The other has 1000 rpm and great dps and shred people in close range. Unfortunately the secondary is quite disappointing in terms of killing potential.
@@strikervx4435 WTF you talking about? Kali has one primary and it's literally the worst gun in the game by almost every metric. It's only good for one thing, downing 3 speeds without rook plates.

I’m so sick of them taking ammo away from ops, it’s such a lazy way to need them, a small nerf to his vertical recoil and the slight damage need would’ve been much more effective than taking shots away
I agree, and I also wanna say that this isn’t gonna help with the Jackal nerf meta (in the lower ranks mostly, but also occasionally in the higher ranks), because Jackal isn’t annoying because of his gun, we would’ve banned Ace if the gun was annoying. His ability to instantly track a man down without them being able to do much to avoid it, and basically make roamers easy targets, is why he’s banned, especially on roam heavy maps like Clubhouse and Consulate.
I completely agree. It makes guns not fun to use anymore. They have completely ruined Jager for me . For Jackal, they should have just made it so that the effectiveness of the ping for his Jackal track is based on how close you are to the target. For example, if you sprint upstairs to get a hatch then back down to site, a good distance away, and Jackal tracks you for only one ping due to you being one floor down and opposite end of the map
@@TrancEII2010 I would actually say that Jackal’s track should tell Jackal alone what room the enemy is in, so he still requires some team coordination, and you can’t just be a one man roam hunter

Hes easy to deal with if you just remember where you’ve been, you see how long ago you were there by how many pings you’ll receive so you know roughly where he is on the map. Hes the strength that the attacking side needs but he’s always banned and then people complain about the defender sided meta

I'm going to be honest with all the magazine capacity changes being so unrealistic, I really feel like Tom Clancy is just disappointed about how bad the game has strayed from the source material.
He is rotating in his grave for sure and I heard a while back that there were difficulties between Ubisoft and Clancy's family. They were not happy

do they fit in the rainbow universe? not really.
are ammo capacity changes (when compared to the real gun) unrealistic? yes.
but honestly, i think it's bearable because the reason for these changes are probably gameplay / balancing reasons, and you most likely run out of ideas after 60 operators, but seeing how flores is designed and his gadget being actually pretty realistic when compared to lasers and cloak shit then yeah, they do absolutely fine without having to design an operator with future-related stuff.

erf individual ops. It literally enables power creep. You have to buff

*Ubisoft’s logic*: Yes we have seen an increase in Kapkan’s pick rate to 0.6% and therefore the appropriate nerf has been made to nerf hibanas type 89 to balance this severe increase in pick rate.

I feel like a good balancing update would be to add the 2.5x ACOG to the PDW. Would definitely give people more incentive to use it instead of them continually nerfing his C7E

Both his guns were so broken when they came out. PDW9 got stronger over distance and the C7 had SMG class reload and ADS times (on top of amazing damage and fire rate) 🤣

Things are going to become a bit simpler although ttk and stk will still be relevant because they may differ for the three armour types.

Hi Rogue could you do one of your amazing statistics video on the battlepass pass and how much you would have to play to complete it please. I managed to complete the last 2 but this one I'm on lvl91 and I feel I've played just as much and I'm not going to finish it. Kinda feel ripped off for supporting a game while there making it extremely difficult to get everything I paid for without having to buy battlepass tiers. If you worked out how much I'd have to grind it would help me decide whether to bother buying it. Sorry for been so long tia

You know, you did many videos but there are still so many guns you didn't talk about and I would love to have some reliable informations about whether or not I should take the suppressor. As you said: the stats in the game are wrong, so a reliable source of information would be breathtaking... I would also understand if you don't do it, so others can't use your hard work and use it for there own benefit, like making CZcams videos about it and claim all the credits. Yeah so... I was already using the PDW-9 before the nerf. Why? Because although both guns have angled I feel as if the ~-50 milliseconds ADS time of the PDW9 matters on Jackal, since i'll be toggling his helmet on and off all the time.

Ubisoft are such clowns, it’s actually insane how delusional they are. But hey, just make every operator extremely frustrating to play AND to play against!
Its weird because back before Jackal ever got a nerf (in 2019 or whatever) , Silver and Golds in ranked hardly ever played him. But he's a must ban throughout nearly every ranked match regardless of skill level
WAIT Rouge9, with the new season changed and armor being converted to health, that means that jackals c7e would be able to 3 shot 3 armors again, because 42 x 3 is 126, which is obviously more than 125. Thoughts on this whole situation? I also noticed that twitich would be able to 3 shot 2 armors with her f2 doing 37 damage.
There was a leak for next season saying that muzzle attachments might get changed a bit, the suppressor values might get fixed then.
I wonder if the suppressor stats are wrong on purpose. Reminds me of some games where they intentionally display the wrong hit chances to you (Battletech, XCOM, etc) to influnce your decision making. Monster Hunter also bloated weapon attack values (they removed the bloating in the last few games though).
Nothing is impossible but having followed this game for years now, I think it's just a mistake that they haven't bothered fixing. The in-game stats are super low priority for them, that's why we still have mobility in there and why some of the recoil charts are incorrect. It seems to be a manual database and when they changed how suppressors work, they just forgot to update the stats...
I was using it earlier and I didnt even notice the damage nerf it was still hitting pretty damn good :/

I hadn't touched the game all season and just got on yesterday. As jackal being my main i didnt realized the ammo count changed until this video. I think ill stick with the C7E but ill definitely consider the PDW from now on
With the arms covering a nice chunk of the torso of your target when being in front of it, I find the lack of consideration about the difference of penetration between ARs and SMGs quite disturbing when comparing the two main weapons of an operator that have an AR and a SMG.
