Interesting to hear you mention the remnants of earth on the coin. Earlier this year I was lucky enough to detect an Offa. One of 4 of its kind. It's a stunning coin and although tempted I would never fully clean it. I'm sure that most detectotists would likewise only give a light brush. Great video and very informative.👍
Doctor: Congratulations Mr and Mrs of Mercia, it's a baby boy! What shall you call him? *Sæthryth smiles warmly down at the baby in her arms* *"Burgred."*
There was a hoard of twenty five found on my permission a few weeks back. I was not a lucky finder. Thank you for a very informative video. Many thanks wasp and Helen 🐝😷
Very Interesting Coin! 👍Stunning condition for it's age! 👏

Beautiful looking coin and in very good condition, thanks for showing us.
Lovely coin! I'm currently on a antiquarian book kick, but will pick up another coin or two.
Excellent video... Thanks...
By the way... Burghred (unsure of the spelling) is portrayed in the fictional TV series "Vikings" in a few episodes....
very nice penny

You’re a good luck charm! I’ll be at Detectival this September, come over and say hi, I’ll be at the Essex coin tent working ☺️
Moneta = moneyer 👍 so Dvda would be his name😃.
Thanks Mick!! 🤩
👍👍👏👏👀👀
Very good video, as always! I don't know hardly anything about Saxon coinage, so this was very helpful and easy to understand.
Thanks matey! 😁
