Magpie trade bottle-caps for food

Finally, my Crowbox experiment reaches an important milestone. One of the four magpie-chicks has found out how to trade bottle-caps for food. Still, they think the 'payment', the bottle-cap has to be placed just where the food appears, however, after a some testing he/she tries out the other slots. These slots leads to a small metal-detector that detects the bottle-cap and starts the food dispenser.
Bottle-caps are collected in a small basket below the 'table'. I spread the bottle-caps out in the garden, a few hours later, the bottle-caps are back in the basket. - Věda a technologie

Train a bunch of them to find rings, then take your bird army to a popular beach, lmao.
I started feeding crows peanuts on my balcony to see if they'll ever bring me jewelry. Two years, no presents yet. Fingers still crossed. lol

It's unreal how smart these birds are, you can see him problem solving as he's tries a few different ways to insert the cap.
He even walks away, drops the cap, and flies back; "resetting" the situation. The magpie probably has a higher problem solving intelligence than a human child that's under a year old.

We just solved the global trash and reycling problem!
Yea just get the animals to do it !
Fuc responsibility 😆
They're too smart tho. Scientists that have tried this have discovered that once corvids/trained animals run out of litter to trade in they will simply resort to stealing small objects from humans and other animals instead. This is stuff like rocks, earrings, coins, wrapped candies, etc. And that's not even to mention the ones that hang around food dispensories like those kids around the highschool bathroom, just waiting for some poor soul to drop in their treasure so they can bully them out of the way and steal the reward for themselves!

I like the idea that there's a future where every time someone brings up a problem someone says, "I don't know just pay a bird to do it"
And then they rise up in demand of equal bird rights and evascipation.
Everybody gangsta until the birbs demand labor rights.

Cut to a scene where theres a mountain of bottlecaps taking over the entire table, and its dark with magpies on the lawn
I wish I could replace some people in my neighborhood with magpies like this one. Those folks will still throw their cigarette butts and stuff on the flowerbed I planted on the corner of the street even though they have several trashcans right under their noses.
It's hilarious, yet really sad how some people are so oblivious to the garbage can in front of them when out in public..... They'll tell you that there isn't one around and act so shocked when you point it out like 2 feet from them.

Magpie: "Insert coin. Get snack. I love vending machines."
Imagine magpies using vending machines, it would be something like japan.
Soon this guy will become just a bit richer just off of bottle caps collected and sold to a recycling business. Pennies add up. All while not doing the labor and cleaning up the environment just a tiny bit. Two thumbs up.
Well, he has to pay for the bird food :D
Next the Magpie will acquire a Pip-Boy then befriend a companion named FishMeat
Bottle cap 1 snack
Coin 2 snacks
Ring 3 snacks
Diamond 10 snacks
Human finger you are now promoted to recon specialist Private 4
This is gonna be why bottle-caps end up as currency after the apocalypse, mark my words.
I have a feeling this will zenith with the birds picking clean a good few mile radius, with birds then subsequently camping anyone having a drink, swooping in to steal the cap
I need this magpie for my collection of bottle-caps.
That'd be one bigass magpie, in my case. Lol
I need this Magpie in the Fallout games XD
Something I saw on an Australian homemade cartoon about some weed smoking sasquatches always stuck with me: The planet can be cleaned up by making the trash worth something. Then people will be hurrying to collect it as fast as possible.

Similar to scrap metal recycling. It could work..
@@FieldMarshall3 America has that too, but theres still bottles and cans everywhere. I guess its also cultural differences?
"I don't want to set the world on fire, I just want to start a flame in your heart".
Fun fact: scientists just figured out that these birds have such sophisticated brains that they seem to be able to think actively about what they know. As in, like Chimps, Dolphins, and humans, they have some level of what seems like consciousness.
They have been witnessed grieving dead magpies also.
“To shit on that car or not to shit, THAT is the question.” - Freidrick von Magpie
They're also one of the few animals that understand the concept of a mirror and know it's their own reflection, something even some ape species don't get.
Of course they have consciousness, the question was their level of intelligence and self awareness.
That's idiotic. An unconscious thing won't feel hunger, won't protect self or her progeny, won't make effort to mate etc. All living beings are self conscious. Otherwise they won't feel that if they don't eat they won't survive. Mere machine doesn't care if you don't feed it fuel or electricity but living beings know they want to live so all of them have self consciousness, of course some stupid religious books would try to spread false rumours just so their adherents may feel special, but BS is BS even if written by a celebrity.
I predict that “magpie food” will be a valuable resource in the future.
Man, I hate it when the coin gets stuck too.
Thanks for the chuckle 😃
but when stepsister does... i really don't mind. and it seems neither did she.
