I use to feed the mockingbirds when I worked at a local restaurant. They were attacking customers, so I started feeding them, to the frustration of my boss who said, "Don't feed them! They attack the customers!" and I'm thinking, well, if we fed them, maybe they won't attack the customers. So I continued. And wouldn't you know, they stopped attacking the customers. I'd get on the side of the building and yell, "HEY, MOCKIN'BIRDS...LET'S EAT!" and they'd come flying, two, sometimes three and four of them. The little critters, they LOVE ham. And steak. And hamburgers, just about anything (they didn't like lima beans). The hostesses used to laugh at me, of course, saying, "Dude, you're talking to them birds!", and I tell them, "Well...can YOU call a mockingbird? Besides, they listen better than y'all!" Of course, I quit working there and two months later, someone had told me that the mockingbirds were once again attacking customers. I TOLD them to feed them, nobody gonna listen. So if you have a problem with mockingbirds attacking you in the yard, start talking to them and feed them leftovers. Just not lima beans.
That's cool! I'm surprised that my cockatiel doesn't cuss. I've had him for about 23 years, so you'd think he'd pick up some choice words. He hasn't yet. I'm glad. Sometimes my mom comes over for a visit, so a cussing cockatiel isn't a good thing to have.
Oh wow ... and for decades I thought Catholics followed the teachings of Christ and that those who do are called Christians. Damn ... The entire educated world's understanding is that Christianity is made up of two sects/branches--Catholicism and Protestantism--from which all other denominations/sects branch off (Protestantism being formed by King Henry VIII so he could divorce his Catholic--Universalist?--wife). If Catholics don't base their religion on Christ (and therefore earning the label 'Christian'), then to which religion do they belong (Christian Universalism doesn't count as a stand-alone religion but rather as merely a branch/sect): Shintoism? Buddhism? Hinduism? Judaism? Islam? Paganism? Celtic? Druidism? Scientology? It seems you are mistaking a branch/sect of a religion as a separate and independent religion. Catholics are Christians, as are Christian Universalists, Lutherans, Methodists, Anglican, Baptists, Seventh Day Adventists, Greek Orthodox, Mormons, Church of God, Church of Christ, Presbyterian, Pentecostals, Episcopalians, ad infinitum. She never got the other half. The crow kept it and took it with him on his travels all across America, to remind him of the sweet little two-legged child who showed him kindness during a rough season❤️
35 years ago in Nevada we rescued two Magpies. From unopened eyes to fully grown birds, they had the run of the house! We started leaving the doors open and they would come and go at will. The best part is that they could talk! Oh, they never left.
I've always loved crows and jays, despite being told to keep them away from my feeders (which I didn't do). They were always wonderfully intelligent and kind to other animals, and to me. I used to watch a blue jay dining at my feeder regularly. He had a squirrel friend, who couldn't get up our "squirrel-proof" feeder-post. So Mr. Jay would carry seeds or suet to the edge of the feeder and generously drop these offerings, one at a time, down to the squirrel, He did this for the squirrel on more than one occasion, so we suspected either friendship or some bizarre, inter-species romance.
Georgie Gingersnap I have a Sparrow that returns every spring. Around 10 am he will tap on my window, until I acknowledge him. I somehow got a male Cardinal in my house. The poor guy, was so exhausted and covered in dust, when we found him behind a dresser, in front of a window. Opened the window. And he fell out of it. He survived, and now comes with his mate, every year. They nest in my tree just outside my bedroom window. Him and the Sparrow seem to get along. I find them on my Mulberry bush together.
Georgie Gingersnap don't be too fooled. blue jays are aggressive birds. my first experience with them had me pretty shook as a child. I knew of a robin's nest outside in my front yard and it had eggs. one morning two blue jays came in and violently fought them till the robins flew away, then they threw all of the robin eggs out onto the side walk and crushed them. the jays lived there for the rest of the year.
Georgie Gingersnap Seagulls, on the other hand are selfish. At work people throw food at them and pigeons, sparrows would rush in. When the seagulls come they will yell at other birds to keep back even though there's more than enough
i had a friend who lived at the beach in costa rica.. he was friendly with a black bird that visited his deck... one day the bird came back and left him a marijuana cigarette.
FuturePants My crow, my crow brought me the dough That bought me all my fancy things My crib, my cars, my pools, my jewels Look, nigga, I done came up and I ain't changed
Crows are simply a wonderful bird to watch and they make me happy ,Here n Berlin ours are black and grey and yet just same re actions and intelligence ...Wonderful what this little girl has established
I was working in a boiler room in a school in my city, and I heard a strange noise coming from the chimney, it was crow trapped at the bottom trying to get out, so I broke open the clean out door climbed in and he calmed down so I could grab him, I carefully climbed out while holding him in both hands, got out side and let him go, he was so happy to saved he circled around me a few times to thank me before flying away. that was a very cool moment for me..then seeing this video reminded me so I thought I would share it:-)
There's a crow that was befriended by an older couple. One day they found that their crow friend had adopted a kitten. He even fed her things. Needless to say the couple ended up keeping the kitten. And the crow still plays with her.
Nirrina, I saw that story with pictures written up and thought how really beautiful that is. All animals are amazing and what I'm noticing is they are getting smarter and more loving towards other types of animals. It's like they have become inspirited.
Beautiful little lady With a heart as good as gold Once lived in a place full of crows Now she still does and they pay her in different kinds of gold like a leaf or a branch that and for once they didnt stole the good things found for her to hold
I have a crow that sits on the telephone wires while I hang out my laundry. I've named him Walter. Whenever I see him I talk to him while I do my work. People would probably think I'm crazy, but I know he understands me. Lol
I love my crows at work. I mostly work outside, so I feed them every time I see them. Now they will swoop down while I"m walking literally inches from me, to get my attention. It actually scared the crap out of me, since all you can here is feathers, and see this thing come from behind you. Now, they make other humming noises when the see me, and bob their heads up and down tapping their beaks on the ground. They just started to bring their babies around too to get food. Now I thinking why they haven't given me gifts!!! Haha
Yeah, they are awesome! Just today they were flying behind me like usual, and I heard the feathers, but something different happened.. One of them gently taped me on the top of my head!! I couldn't believe it touched me! Haha I was shocked and laughing.
There are a lot of crows in my neighbourhood, and I had to rescue a fledgling once. It had fallen from a tall tree in. It couldn't fly yet, was stuck in an open area without any cover, and there are many dogs, outdoor cats and coyotes around here. The parents freaked and one swooped at me, but the moment they noticed I was headed for a wooded area very close by(and where the parents were calling from) they settled down to just cawing angrily at me. I put the baby crow in the nearest the pine tree, the parents cawed at me until I was a good distance away, and thankfully no lasting animosity's come of it! I suspect they figured out I was helping; especially since there was an excited dog being walked very close by, that knew the fledgling was there.
One time at school, I found a bird who's wing was broken. I brought him to the vet with my mom, and he was ok after a week. The day he was let go, he showed up at my house at 7:15, when I go to school. He would act like an alarm clock, always at 7:15. I named him Lemondrop because he has a circle of yellow on his chest.
How Cool ! One of the most amazing aspect of life is whenever you form a Bond with Nature. What's more amazing is whenever a 3rd party notice when Nature Bonds back like with this little girl !
Oh this story was absolutely spectacular about the birds bringing their little girl friend small gifts. I know she will continue loving birds and bird watching the rest of her long, happy life!!!
This is lovely and not that surprising. Local crows and magpies near my factory have gotten to know me over more than ten years I always remember them with some scraps. They will even accost me on the way to or from the kiosk and ask for something and I've doubled back to grab them a piece of bread or something if I didn't have anything. At home our rabbit has known a couple of crows for a while and they also play together. The crows hop around and play chasings with her and sometimes bring a bunch of friends to sit on the fence and look at the rabbit. They like looking at her but only the two she knows get down and play.

Such a sweet little story! I've been feeding the Ravens that come to my back yard & deck for years but the Seagulls steal the food & bully them. I started putting the food under or in the boughs of the pine trees, as it's meant for them and not the Seagulls. I named the large Raven, "Sid" who seems to come when I call to him.
Thats amasing ! This most be a speshal girl ! I love crows and skjærer ! They live where people live . Before they ate garbage, but now , where I Live , it s impossible for them to get to it . Think they struggle more to get food espeshaly in the winter . I also feed them and they sit and look in the window to see If I m home ... can only give a couple of grapes erly in the morning because it s not alowed to feed them where I live. If I lived in a house , I would feed them in my garden ! I tried to lay blingy things and spoons to see If they wanted a tressure, but they didn t . It s amasing what they give you ! Wow, Warms my heart ❤️🦄🍀🕊💎📎💗✨❣️
Crows are my favorite birds. Super smart and very beautiful.I am a photographer, my crow friends always pose for me ,i have some stunning shots....i love them....so cheeky and full of character .Good work done by this little girl.
translate or read well Diane? I also believe you meant to say text slang or text style typing since this isn't texting big difference...plus believe it or not the English language is changing so however he decided to write it, the sentence is still understandable...at least to me.
dirt t dude get a grasp on English what? sentence structure , grammar or punctuation? be specific when you insult someone lest you want to be in his position.
What a sweet girl..if everyone was as thoughtful imagine how much nicer the world would be..I've rehabbed crows, to be near them is truly an amazing experience they are beautiful smart creatures
Awwwww. I love crows. They are brilliant creatures!! I moved into my new place 4 months ago and began to feed my neighborhood crows straight away. They have just begun to bring me gifts. So far I have 2 buttons and a couple of screws. Sweet, smart, delightful birds. 🕊
God bless you Gabby and your kind heart!! Lord willing you will grow up and change this world filled with so much hate and anger for the better. I believe you will!!
Hippies in general? Nothing, My friend and her family are very spiritual (I love their family so much). Religious hippies, the ones I've encountered so far, have been very shove-their-religion-down-my-throat. Not to mention that a lot of them are very prejudice.
When she becomes a "mature" adult she will be just as loving as she is now. Some people are just made that way. That's what it's all about. Take a lesson from it.
Rockie True. A kind child grows into a kind adult. And there are lots of awful little children out there who are cruel to animals. Has nothing to do with age.
That is so Beautiful. I love crows anyway. They are very loyal and intelligent animals. And kudos also to the little girl. It's refreshing to see humans be kind to animals and not hurt them. Unfortunately I can't say the same is true for all of humankind...
The simple things in life are the best things in life and that is so true I was just reminded of what a great world this use to be and someday can be again especially if we try.
So what do crows like to eat? I see a lot of them in the neighborhood. I had no idea that they could be friendly if you fed them. I get sparrows at my feeder and blackbirds once and awhile. I also have an all you can eat corn cob buffet for the squirrels.
Crows and most corvid is general are mostly omnivores, and will eat mostly anything displayed to them, so long as it suits their tastes. Corn is a very common one, in popper form or in dried cob form, most mixxed seeds, nuts, dried fruits, insects (namely beetles and mealworms), even some small scraps of raw meat is on their list. Small fishes, such as silverback shad, are also very good ideas. If you can make them have to think, all the better, they seem to enjoy problem solving quite a bit.
Wild crows enjoy food like peppers, low phosphorus cat food, raw grains, popcorn(unsalted), bread or pasta(whole grain), worms&grubs&snails(get from pet or bait store, so they're non-toxic), raw and boiled eggs, nuts(unsalted), and berries. You can also try raw meat slices such as chicken and mussels, as well as pre-killed baby feeder mice from the pet store, if you're not squeamish. However, if you don't want rotting meat and all that comes with it laying around, I'd suggest only putting out meat once the crows have started coming regularly. DO NOT FEED THEM; -Chocolate(poisonous to crows; causes vomiting, diarrhea, seizures and death) -Apple seeds, pear seeds, cherry pits, as well as peach, nectarine, plum and apricot pits(all contain traces of arsenic) -Unwashed, bought fruit(pesticide risk) -Avocado(causes crows cardiac distress and heart failure) -Onions(Causes crows vomiting, diarrhea, other digestive problems) -Alcohol(watch your cocktails outside if crows are around! Crows seem to have no problems helping themselves to this, but it causes organ problems) -Mushrooms(causes crows digestive problems and possible organ failure) -Tomato leaves(TOXIC!!! For any living thing. DX) -Salt, salted food(can cause crows digestive problems, dehydration, kidney dysfunction, etc.) -Caffeine(same as chocolate) -Uncooked, raw beans(contains hemaglutin, toxic to birds. All beans must be thoroughly cooked)
they eat dead animals,a fresh road kill is there favorite. In the fall i have seen them following squirrels taking there acorns after they bury them ,they are scavengers and will never starve
If you feed birds in your garden there automatically giving you a gift just being there for you to watch and enjoy them. Simple things in life are the best 👍🏻
This is sweet. I too have made friends with a group of American Crows. I've fed the same basic group, on my property, for 15 years now. I have an extensive collection of "gifts" that I've saved & labeled with date, time & location of when/where they left it.
They sound very similar to the Australian Magpie........they too, do not forget faces for good or bad reasons........similar reaction to what the narrator said about the baby crows.......isn't nature wonderful?
This one time in Georgia, I helped a baby bird who got separated from its mother. I returned it to its nest, since it couldn't fly yet. I was super careful to not touch it with my bare hands, using my jacket sleeves to hold it because I was afraid touching it would make the mother leave it. A few months later, I was playing outside and I heard chirping. Sure enough, when I found the source, I saw the baby bird all grown up in the place I first found it. It looked directly at me before bowing its head slightly and flying past me, leaving a feather. It was awesome ^^
I feed my children but they brought me lots of headaches..
Charlie Lol.
Charlie- Best comment EVER! 😄👍
Lol!😂
You feed them !!!!!! They should be down the mines earning their keep. :-)
Then dont feed your children
This makes me want to feed crows. Very cool story

You're a good storyteller.
who in the fuck says crows are awful birds that are to be avoided!? I've never heard anyone say that
THOTH Americans and city people
THOTH In many countries and cultures, crows are symbol of death and/or bad luck.
IMO they are very beautiful.
I find that most crows have great personalities. More so than many humans.
Some countries believe that they bring bad luck or death..And one of those countries is my country...
She started a cult of crows. They must pay the tribute of shiny for more food!
Lightscribe225 next they'll be sacrificing virgins at the bloodstone chalice

Same thing with my older brother and a crow. It lived on the roof after it could fly and would ride on the car to the top of the street then fly home.
This sounds like a sick superhero origin.
The Crow Lady lmao
The crow whisperer, when she is 20 she will grow Crow wings.

That's really strange that crows dislike rocks being thrown at them, everything else in this world adores that behavior.

Animals sure show humans up!!
AmethystDew Thus why my wife and I are surrounded by them, and not other humans. Every year, we have less and less use for our fellow humans.
Humans are animals too. Good and bad, see no reason to hate on them unless they've wronged you. Don't generalize them all.
Dylan Jones Chill. No one used the word hate. It is more like disappointed in fellow humans.

John Morgan john mergn, you leve 's out of ll your sentences. i like it, the letter " " isnt tht importnt nywy.
Texting doesn't translate well in regular communication!
I bet John is asian who decided to change his name to better fit in
translate or read well Diane? I also believe you meant to say text slang or text style typing since this isn't texting big difference...plus believe it or not the English language is changing so however he decided to write it, the sentence is still understandable...at least to me.
dirt t dude get a grasp on English what? sentence structure , grammar or punctuation? be specific when you insult someone lest you want to be in his position.
this was very sweet and brought a smile to my face. just shows how much animals do know and care.
If this story is true so it's the sweetest thing I've heard this year .
Such a sweet story. I don't think we give animals enough credit.
I always feed the outdoor cats and they always bring me back pieces of dead animals
could be a threat. try to feed better food
They bring it to you as a gift, they also intend to teach you how to hunt by doing that.
I've heard of crows doing that as well, someone got I think it was a squirrel foot, like thanks I appreciate the thought but yikes lol
Crows are awesome. They don't take crap and can seem cruel, but they appreciate those who are nice to them. ❤
What a sweet girl..if everyone was as thoughtful imagine how much nicer the world would be..I've rehabbed crows, to be near them is truly an amazing experience they are beautiful smart creatures
I've been feeding about four generations of crows in my neighborhood but they never bring me anything:( Rude. lol
Aunty Ro Knows 😂😂😂😂
I'm friends with the pigeons close to my town, they recognise me.
Awwwww. I love crows. They are brilliant creatures!! I moved into my new place 4 months ago and began to feed my neighborhood crows straight away. They have just begun to bring me gifts. So far I have 2 buttons and a couple of screws. Sweet, smart, delightful birds. 🕊
crows are such amazing Birds they truly are so smart I think they are probably my favorite kind of birds I always talk to them whenever I see them ❤
When i think of crows:intellagent,amazing,mistunderstood animals 😊
Gabbycat17 so crows are are virgos.
God bless you Gabby and your kind heart!! Lord willing you will grow up and change this world filled with so much hate and anger for the better. I believe you will!!
I just hate religious hippies.
Layla S Why? What is wrong with being a hippy?
Hippies in general? Nothing, My friend and her family are very spiritual (I love their family so much). Religious hippies, the ones I've encountered so far, have been very shove-their-religion-down-my-throat. Not to mention that a lot of them are very prejudice.
I am my "GOD" and I will what I desire I fear nothing not death, not mortals, nor your god.
surf403 looks like most of the anger and hate u described that's in the world is centered on urself lmao what a hypocrite
I love crows sooo much. cool birds. beautiful black birds.

*Ive always loved corvids be it crows ,ravens ,magpies , etc all corvids are an amazing species
Aw this is like harvest moon
Great story... reminds me if why I love animals. God bless them all.
what a cute way to say thankyou amazing gabby the world needs more of you .....
Crow propaganda
This shows little Children and Animals/Pets are better than Mature People.
She's receiving blessings as she continues to give offerings.
That is so Beautiful. I love crows anyway. They are very loyal and intelligent animals. And kudos also to the little girl. It's refreshing to see humans be kind to animals and not hurt them. Unfortunately I can't say the same is true for all of humankind...
0:08 "Crows are usually described as awful birds that are to be avoided at all cost."
dude wut, no they're not. Where the hell do you live?
roidroid Africa
roidroid Zootopia
australia. they swoop and poke your eyeballs out (not even exaggerating)
roidroid I
Every creature is to be avoided or you'll end up in a symbiotic relationship e.g. bird and human, cat and human, dog and human, etc.
We had a pet crow when I was a kid. He was a great pet.
The simple things in life are the best things in life and that is so true I was just reminded of what a great world this use to be and someday can be again especially if we try.
I guess I will start feeding the crows! This is adorable! 😍
it's not a flock it's a murder
Plot twist: The crows were robbing all those items from other people, so they'd get more free food.
one word,. ADORABLE!
such a beautiful story, I love this.
DO NOT FEED THEM;
-Chocolate(poisonous to crows; causes vomiting, diarrhea, seizures and death)
-Apple seeds, pear seeds, cherry pits, as well as peach, nectarine, plum and apricot pits(all contain traces of arsenic)
-Unwashed, bought fruit(pesticide risk)
-Avocado(causes crows cardiac distress and heart failure)
-Onions(Causes crows vomiting, diarrhea, other digestive problems)
-Alcohol(watch your cocktails outside if crows are around! Crows seem to have no problems helping themselves to this, but it causes organ problems)
-Mushrooms(causes crows digestive problems and possible organ failure)
-Tomato leaves(TOXIC!!! For any living thing. DX)
-Salt, salted food(can cause crows digestive problems, dehydration, kidney dysfunction, etc.)
-Caffeine(same as chocolate)
-Uncooked, raw beans(contains hemaglutin, toxic to birds. All beans must be thoroughly cooked)
Lee Mullen
@Lee - the magpies and crows in the UK like eating any leftover dog food.
they eat dead animals,a fresh road kill is there favorite. In the fall i have seen them following squirrels taking there acorns after they bury them ,they are scavengers and will never starve
so the crow is courting the girl. 😂
Love, Love, Love this story.
I remember hearing the audio interview with the girl some years ago. It was very sweet.
Half the "crows" shown are actually ravens.
Wrong! half the Ravens shown are Crows
mrnickbig1 my thoughts too I wonder if it's a raven she's. been feeding
+Ray Tillman No, the video never described them as ravens.
I think he was joking.
since I feed squirrels..... SQUIRRELS BRING ME SALAMI
How cools that! good for you Gaby, that's the best story I've seen for ages, go the crows.
If you feed birds in your garden there automatically giving you a gift just being there for you to watch and enjoy them. Simple things in life are the best 👍🏻
The bird in the picture is a Raven...
Plot Twist, she stole the items that was made for a nest
Wow they are more grateful than some humans regardless of the insignificant value of the things they bring to her it is their way of saying thank you
This is sweet.
Well done, little one ! ! !
Finally a recommendation video that is worth watching and is heart warming & made me smile for the day
Nice ! Thank u
Bless her little heart. Good video!
Train them to fetch jewelry !!! (THERE IS A CROW EXPERT???!)
When I feed my Dog... they give me Poop...
This sound like a back story of an epic super hero or villain, although little Gabbie already is a hero in my heart! :)
Am I the only one who read "cows" instead of "crows"
UserMan yeah I read cows too lop
I feed the the vultures near my house rabbits that die in my backyard, and they don't bring me stuff... :(
Kozvic do they bring you shit?
crows are very smart they remember faces and even can pass it on to further generations .
I love crows, this story is so sweet, and i like how the girl keeps the gifts,i would to 😊
