I became a member of the House of Xtravaganza in 1988 and let me tell you, THOSE WERE THE DAYS!! We had SO much fun back then and we knew--we just KNEW--that we were on the edge of something huge. Then Jose and Luis joined Madonna in her Vogue video and Paris is Burning was released, and it was a great time to be an Xtravaganza. Now, so many of the family are gone, and I watch from the sidelines what the various houses that survived are doing. It seems as if the House of Xtravaganza is being managed well, although the number of members appears to have grown exponentially over the past few years and I worry that the criteria to become a member have been lowered. In any event, there is so much more to our story that needs to be told, and I hope that someone like Jennie Livingston--or Jenny Livingston herself--will muster up the strength to locate the surviving "original" members of the Houses (for example, interviewing members from the time period from 1975 through 1991) and, in doing so, will take that all-important step of preserving an important part of our history!
Why wait for her when you can do it?
Also "It seems as if the House of Xtravaganza is being managed well, although the number of members appears to have grown exponentially over the past few years and I worry that the criteria to become a member have been lowered."
BAAAAAABY WHO YOU TELLIN'
I really, really wish I could finish the documentary about the rest of the history of the House of Xtravaganza, but I am just not physically able to do it. I broke my neck several years ago and suffer from chronic pain due to a spinal cord injury. It's just not possible for me to do it myself. I'm sorry!
Finian Ramses hi I watched all of you guys back in the day I’m 56 now we gave life to today

Looks it was them close to the end of the video.
WHERE IS THIS FROM? HOW CAN I GET IT?
I taped it from Alive from Off Center way back in the 80's.
Ray Banger - This was made before Alive TV: Reckin' Shop: Live From Brooklyn? - I'm trying to find out more information about this.
I know it was directed by Diane Martel. Just wanted to confirm this is the whole short movie ? (16 mins total) or was there more ... ?
Some seem to be clippets from Paris is Burning
No ! Not " clippets from Paris is Burning" This contains scenes from House Balls which is also the subject of Paris is burning. you swill see some of the same people from Paris is Burning because this was about the same subject and these people are and weremembers of the ballroom community and they frequented the house balls during this time period.
Ray Banger might you upload the full version .
