Much thanks to these tireless warriors, Caleaf and Hiro, who have shown us the clean and pure spirit of dance. Caleaf is my instructional red belt Rhythm & Funk Master (thanks for showing me the Loose Leg, which started me into house dance). Hiro is simply my battle Hero (see how he dug in deep late in the third round and brought out the super saiyan). Like the host says these guys are like 50 and still giving.

When loose leaf dances he so clean and precise with his movement and how his footwork works with the beat.. salute Caleaf #moptops #wiseguys #elitedanceforce100

I'm from NY and liked Caleaf's set better because his moves are more fluid, controlled, precise spins and his moves remind me of foundation house music dance moves from the early NY house scene which seems to have gotten lost over the years!

MIKE GEE YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO HOUSE. L O Lexample r&b acts sing off them eurodancetracks instead of house. house music got sped up to accommodate those with no soul to it. WATCH THE DOCU OF DAFTPUNK & PEEP WHAT WAS SAID HOW THEY LOVE HOUSE & DISCO.

Respect to Caleaf but the judges are afraid to vote against him. This is what you get when you close with judges. For me Hiro took this battle.

Caleaf is so tall compared to Hiro!! Anyway, incredible dancers these two but I think Hiro should've won this one.

    I love Hiro.
With that said, I prefer Caleafs set - though it was certainly not spectacular - and probably would have given it to him too.
He resembles Ejoe and his style, which, among other things,
Is quite smooth overall, with fluid, seamless transitions between moves.
    His dancing is like water...
Hiro, despite a very nice range of notable moves, an impressive pedigree and a beautiful personality, seems to use his hands in such a way as to balance himself against the opposing forces of his body - as we all do, however, he does it in a very twitchy and somewhat reckless looking way. This can unfortunately create the impression that the upper and lower halves of his body are not in sync with each other...
The same goes for his moves; he does not appear to transition between moves in a very fluid manner, but instead his body looks a bit jerky as he flings from one move to the next. Many of his moves appear 'rushed'.
The fluid, liquid nature of Caleaf - who is clearly biting Ejoe's style, is a student / devotee of his or simply gained a good deal of inspiration from him - is what won him the final.
Props to him. I do hope he is really feeling what he is projecting out there on the floor...
I think one maybe feels that the Caleaf (Ejoe) style ('Way', as I like to call it), is more from the heart, while the Hiro style is more from the head.
The truth is that that statement is most likely untrue to a great extent, and that many factors create the difference between the two men and their respective techniques.
I wuld like to see where Caleaf goes from here in terms of his house dancing. Where to it shall evolve. He has built for himself a great foundation from which to potentially reach the pinnacle of the art.
The Ejoe Way radiates love in a rather substantial way.
Others' styles either do not, or do so also but to a lesser degree, whether a little less or a lot less.
Love will always win in the end.
There may come a time when all true students of the art, after having observed and practiced many of the popular styles, naturally gravitate towards the Ejoe Way...until finally, one day, that is all there is....
The Ejoe Way, encoded into our DNA...
    The Way Of Love...
What other way can there be,..once the body, mind and heart are clear, free from distraction / disturbance and are acting as One?
And then...that will be the foundation, upon which the next great era of house dancing is built...

+TheAgentOfTruth I agree with your criticism, but I must comment that Ejoe has learned just as much from Caleaf and both fed off each other over many years, I wouldn't consider it biting. "Loose Legs," a foundation house move, was created by Caleaf, who used to be known as "Loose Leaf." Ejoe and Caleaf look "similar" because they have been dancing with each other for a very long time, but really they both define what house dance originally looked like in the 80's and especially 90's.

    • @Mikegee63
      @Mikegee63 Před 5 lety +2

Very good analysis of Hiro's dancing! As someone commented already, Caleaf and Ejoe have been dancing together for a very long time. They have similar styles, but I think Caleaf is more footwork oriented and Ejoe is more lofting oriented. I don't know how much Caleaf has in the tank to improve because as you age your feet don't move as fast. I can see a little age taking affect on his dancing. I notice he doesn't get off the floor as fast as he used to, so it's gonna be more and more difficult to battle these younger guys who are very acrobatic, but he could still do showcases, because his foundation moves and spins still rank up there with the best of them.
