Who's watching this in 2024?
1988 first Year of college in Brooklyn
I met house music and fell in love .
54 years old and i cant let it go
We didnt care about money , we didn't fight each other , brothers got along !! We danced !
this video along with some others floating around on youtube from the same era in NYC needs to be archived for future generations as a part of dance history and house music history. VIBES
very true especially considering all the parties with the best Dj's are gone. (shelter, Body n Soul..)
Soon to be 64, and still trying to get some of these steps! Love this! House dancing and music forever! Werk!
YES LORD !! GOOD EXERCISE !!!
25 years later and this is the freshest dance, movement, music and expression!
Damn...I want that mix
Gotta love how the style still hasn't changed. The groove. The steps. the clothes.
This dancing was being done in the Paradise Garage, Loft and other spots in NJ & NYC area @ early 1980's ..
Lost boyz 181 Amsterdam.....we was there.... ❤ beautiful history
Man. That was the time. NJ, NY, Philly. We had it on lock. From the clubs to outside it was all good, plenty of money and fun. I was 15 then wide open
OK, I need to have one last ride!!!!!!!!!! I was in Germany at that time, but I had 2 associates from Jamaica NY. They broke me into house dancing. There's was no turning back from dat day on. Still vibing now, but wish to have that ride out again, where the vibe was nothing but love and fun!!!!!!!!!!!
A NY moment in time, dance legends caught in their prime, honing their skills……so glad it was captured. 🙏🏾……..props to everyone on deck. That Shan S/Brian Greene vs. was absolute 🔥. Like butta, like that lil jook move Shan did 😂 ……Nasty.
I was born in 1997 and lovee house dance... thank you for this heritage ! These people have made my life better 🥰 lots of love from Paris
that brian green and shan s exchange!!
This is a gem! Want to learn fundamentals go watch this vid 999 times.

Yezzir!!!! That’s the one I needed! Thank you 🙏🏾
I Knew Some of these Guys because I would see them Hang out at EMPIRE ROLLER RINK Disco in BROOKLYN NYC on Friday and Saturday Nights, and I would Join in to DANCE With them, and they were Real Cool!!! They would Give me Props whenever I would do My Moves, when it get real Wild in there in the Late 90s!!!!
thank you for sharing thissssss
WOW!! That was the good old days. I was sooo skinny now I’m out of shape. It was cool to mix House dance with Capoeira. It was cool to hang out with these top dancers. Having fun when being young.
You can still do it!! I was 9 when they made this video, I remember my mother and uncles getting down in the living room…I’m 34 now and I just lost a battle to one of my teachers…he’s 57..you can still do this!
At my age my answer is yes and no, but I’m off and on with capoeira. Practice, practice. The real answer is when the music hit you you don’t feel pain. House take over your mind, body and soul. I had an opportunity to know these dancers. You will never forget your moves.
@@adriandixon5728 I agree, I’ve met ejoe, leaf, and brian. Definitely true about not feeling pain when the music is moving you
Back then, it was Maestre Joao Grande on 14th Street with the Angola style, and Edna Lima uptown with the Regional. Cobra Mansa if you were in DC..
#Capoeira
Just superb !!
OH HOW I MISS TIMES LIKE THIS!!!!!! Got me grooving with them in my living room on the carpet. THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!!!!
Amazing!

@@EnensaAmen Oh yes. I participated in plenty of them in Germany around that time. It was da shit!!!!!! I do it every now and then today, but because of my aggressive work schedule, I got to make time. BUT WHEN I DO.....................
definitely see the progression from northern soul dancing to house footwork.
Yessss u can see. It sooooo clear..Amazing dancers so many moves r tbe same...but back then they had no name...it was just house dancing lol..Now mixed with the Footwork..🔥🔥🔥
There's a lot of jazz and softshoe vibes.
I noticed this too. But are the two really connected??
@@thaiselizabethh I thought they did have names though. Caleaf and Buddha Stretch put out a house dance dictionary on them.
@@strategicmulatto3212 Yess but there are different segments in the House Scene...Some PPL just went 2dance every week and we're some of the most Amazing dancers..They had PPL doing the hustle in one corner..Break dancing on another end...it was so many things at one time...Amazing Feeling 💯❤👈👈

Whats the song at 22:40 ? I remember listening to it . Haven't heard it for years until I watched this .
This is the NASTIEST house dancing video on CZcams…brings me back to my SOUNDFACTORYBAR Wednesday night’s mid to late 90’s LittleLouieVega ROCKIN the house….fav song is at 49:24 Roy Davis Jr. GABRIEL could listen to that all day on repeat. GOODTIMES back then.
Do you know what song plays at the 23:00-minute mark?
Hey man, do you know the name of the track at 33:21? Help an old Child of the Circle out. I miss those days something awful. I need this track in my life. Please assist.
Love this (even though I haven't finished watching it all).
Question though, is this the original music from 1997? The Prayer by Jephté Guillaume is playing in the background, and as far as I'm aware, that song broke in 2010.
Oh damn…… ID on 16:40 please?
Ohhh nice! Disco and soulful house head here, loved house dancing back in the day, I wish I was half as good as these guys! Its never too late (although my clubbing days are few and far between now)
