I’m a former union carpenter. Skated since ‘86. Get a drill bit slightly smaller than the wood screws they come with. Hold it up to the side of the deck and figure out the halfway point. Take a small piece of tape and wrap it around the the bit to mark the halfway point of your deck’s thickness. That way you won’t drill through the deck. Drill the pilot holes and your screws will never come out.
never thought of wood glue. i use double sided tape and it works good. i was just looking for a way to get no rattle and easily take the rails off when im done with the board. does the glue make em hard to take off the board?
@@stickersteve007 usually they crack free pretty easy after unscrewed and then I just lightly sand them down to get excess dried glue off or just buy new rails. They are like 10-15$ so doesnt break the bank. I also used superglue before and works just as well too. Give it a shot next time.
Interesting. i'm currently using sexbolts with my rails and the rails seems to stick pretty good to the board. The drawback with it is, that you see the bolts on your grip.
i don't know about the sex bolts, but these definitely stick out a wee bit. idk if there's other videos on how to correctly do it. probably shoulda done some research. i just went for it haha
@@stickersteve007 I would’ve done the exact same and jump in. Where the fun in that. Ha ha. There was a video on Santa Cruz CZcams and they just said put tape on the rails first to figure out placement but drilling was the same. We’d probably be in the same boat if I was gutsy enough to do that Experiment.
haha 100% part of the reason they stuck out so much was because it was a VX deck. i actually did an update if you wanna check that video out czcams.com/video/Tk2P4Mh-Tyk/video.htmlsi=ss9bPnkIZuKgX7L_
i actually do that now. ill dremel down the lil stubs after i break em off. also it being a VX board did effect how the screws broke off. i should probably make an update video

I use wood glue underneath the rails and so far so good!!! I usually only skate my decks 2-3 months and never had a rattle problem.

What size? And where’d u get em?
I'd use a Dremel cut off wheel to cut the screws level to the deck.
That's what I mention. Would totally get rid of that issue. Just a lot of extra work
I just saw your response. Outstanding. 🐢 🛹 🐢 🛹 🐢 🛹
Thanks for taking one for the team. Those protrusions would bug me. We’re sex bolts like this? I don’t remember

@@TheReal_DeanD you never know unless you try right
@@stickersteve007 True. I may give it a go man one of these days. 1" long drywall screws right?
@@TheReal_DeanD yeah. Or 1 1/4. It doesn't really matter
You put the rails on backwards
You're not wrong. But that's how I skated em.

Hack!!
: How about using a Dremel type tool with a cut-off disk if available? Wouldn't that be cleaner and more efficient? Anthony.
