- Although they've been around forever, one of the top food trends of today are Birria tacos (also known as Quesabirria since it combines elements of a quesadilla with a taco). Traditionally made with goat and an all-day simmering event, we are going to use beef (one of three cuts) and do this in a fraction of the time with under 10 ingredients. The flavor will be just as spectacular. If you love my pozole rojo, you'll love this!

Jeff, Jeff, Jeff... you have outdone yourself with this one. Top 5 of your Recipes hands down for me. I made these tonight for my wife and I. They turned out amazing! 9 of 10 amazing... (10 of 10 would require goat meat and being physically in Guadalajara Mexico). My wife who spent 26 years of her life in Mexico was very surprised and gave this recipe her Mexican approval and said these are very authentic. I used half chili ancho and half guajillo. I also added 3 cups broth because.... who does not want extra broth with this amazing dish! I did need to bump up the seasoning salt for the amount of meat and broth. I would also recommend queso quesadilla if your local market has a mexican/Latin selection. To anyone on the fence on this mexican recipe coming from an instant pot and a Jewish author.... Jeff knows delicious dishes... give it a try!
What a testament! Thank you so much, Terry! Thrilled you all enjoyed it!
I have a three of your books i never run out of things to make amazing ✨️
Made these this evening. They are awesome! Used dried Chipotle peppers instead of Ancho because that all my supermarket had. Delicious 😋
These look amazing Jeffery. Please don’t apologize for using lots of ingredients…that is what “elevates” a dish up to restaurant quality! When recipes only have 5 ingredients, you have to ask yourself if this is going to be McDonald’s or Burger King food. If so, why cook?
Love using my instant pot. I will add this to my recipe list.
I have some older tortilla shells in my fridge. This makes sense to use them and save them from discard.
I’m definitely using my fresh cilantro in this. My kitchen will be happy to be a taco truck tonight.
Don't know what you used to do for a living. But THIS is your CALLING!!
Hiiii Jeffrey! I love love Quesabirria Tacos! There are so many food trucks making these in my community here in Southern California! You’re amazing! Your recipes are spot on! My ALL time favorite, is your IP pastrami! It was a bit time consuming, but the end result-chefs kiss! You NEED your own IP segment on TV Food Network! Food network-take note! I kid you not! I LOVE YOU and all of your recipes Jeffrey! I have tried so many and they’ve all worked out for me. Thank you!!
Looks amazing!! Totally making this tomorrow for dinner!! Thank you!
I've never had these tacos, but I will now! Thank you for another fabulous recipe!
Love you!! Can't wait to watch more!! Love your tacos!!!!
Jeff, thanks for another great video. I have been watching your videos for a long time and you always do a great job. Thank you so much for teaching me how to use my Instant Pot Duo Crisp. I love all tacos. 😁
This is the easiest recipe for birria I have seen!
This was an OMG moment but I am one of those people that live to eat. Jeff this one ranks right up there with your Zuppa Toscano and Guacamole recipe. Disregard previous comment regarding cook time for the chuck. I did cut it into thirds and cooked it 60 minutes and it was perfect so you're spot on with the 60 minutes and 15 minute cool down. Absolutely fabulous!
gotta try this!
I had some very similar to those at Uncle Julio's in Fort Worth! They were so good! These look very easy to make. I'll be giving them a shot!
This is what I'm talking about thank you for the recipe
OMG, JEFFREY! I just woke up to your new video and already I’m salivating!! I live in California and I’m sure this is a winner! Looked up your Amazon page but got a “sorry” not available…hopefully this recipe will be in your “ work in progress” new cookbook 😘😘 ( the big question is, did Richard like it?). Keep them coming!!
That looks awesome. I know what's for dinner tonight. Thanks!
Easy and I'm sure very delicious!!!
Awesome 👏🏻
I can’t wait to make these. I love birria tacos!!!!!!!!
Love the yellow cookbook.
I passed this to my friend that cooks Mexican food all the tine.
Yummy
Yaaaay thanks for the recipe! I just messaged you about this sometime last month and was so excited to wake up to the notification of this video! 😁😁❤❤ Super looking forward to making this!!
Jeffrey you always convince me that I can cook like a restaurant! That looks fantastic and something I would definitely order in a restaurant and something I would not even think to look for in a recipe!!!!
Mmmm that looks delish 😊
love beets esp. pickled on the salad bar
Excited to try this recipe. What cut of brisket would you recommend ?
so made this, and the flour tortillas were a bit easier to manage in the pan. Also, my dog barks when i would play this over and over with the "ring" app going off in your background.. was pretty tasty
I agree about the flour tortillas but they’re traditionally made with corn tortillas so wanted to pay proper homage. Sorry about the Ring ;)
Aloha, Jeffrey! Don't know if you will see this since the video is a few days old, but I hope you do. Gotta tell you what I did. I watched this video late afternoon as I was trying to decide what to have for dinner. Now, one of my top three favorite recipes of yours is Mississippi Pot Roast. I had made a big pot full a couple days earlier. As I watched this video I thought "Hmmm...birria tacos...meat and sauce. Mississippi pot roast...meat and sauce." So I decided I would have mississippi pot roast tacos. Just put my mpr in a tortilla, fried a bit, and added a little Herdez Guacamole Salsa. OMG!!! May be the best tacos I've ever had! 😊
😂😂😂 “Give ‘‘em a little bit of a bris”.
So I was going through my kitchen trying to find a cookbook and I stumble across an instant pot cookbook.. Now, I got this cookbook 3 years ago and I've been watching your videos for 4 years now.. I JUST now realized that this is YOUR cookbook that I have.. You know how I realized? I came across "Jeffrey's blue ribbon chili" which I always make and thought "wow, this is the exact same recipe I follow on CZcams" so I looked at the front and it says "Pressure Luck" right on the front... I can't even believe that I have your cookbook and never even realized
“A little bit of a bris…”. LMAO
How much time per pound of goat meat would you recommend? Also what cut?
Would love to try this.
How many tacos were you able to make from this batch? 🤔 thanks!
Oh that was quick as simple can you please send me a taco lol as I continue to watch
I've never considered myself a trendy person, but food trendy?... Oh yes! Time to make some Instant Pot Birria Tacos!
Dear Jeff, I have made MANY of your dishes to include shwarma, beef stroganoff, wild rice chicken, etc and they have been AMAZING! I have a ninja foodie 14 on 1, which in case anyone is wondering is still 💯 the same with time and temps. .... I have a request for you to perfect in the insta pot please :) an Indian Dish, Mutton Biryani. :) or lamb biryani. its similar to shwarma. There are some channels on here with the dish made in the insta pot, but they are difficult to understand. HomeCookingShow, cooking with my son, episode 2 has a wonderful recipi but she uses a traditional pressure cooker instead of the instapot. we NEED to convert this :)
Jeff...totally looks amazing but wondering if the chuck could have used another five minutes under pressure. Didn't really look like it was pulling apart that easily.
can you show how to proof dough?
Something about this video was delicious... the tacos also looked great! ,🤗
I love these but with goat. Haven’t tried making them. I’m saving this video ❤️
3:55 "Use EVOO if you have high cholesterol, because butter will clog your arteries faster than sludge in a sink..." 😆
I'm totally going to prepare these for my Girlfriend!
FYI, goat in Spanish is Cabrito.
Where can I buy your books?
You can get all of his cookbooks on Amazon.
Also, there are some random grocery stores where I’ve seen them. Not sure where you’re located but around my area there are Meijers grocery stores and I’ve seen his orange cookbook there.
You can buy all of his books off of Amazon, in either paperback or Kindle editions.
Love this. I just bought one of your books at books a million. Will try them all.
Heard your ring doorbell
You know what doesn't go good with this video? Binging The Walking Dead....this looks like something they'd have used for a Walker's innards. lol I'm sure it's delish but I'm sitting here thinking about TWD. lol
Jeff, you're a genius with the Pot. Try to limit the use or Boursin man, you get it at Costco cheap. We don't have Costco here (and we'll never get it because of the oligarchs that run the grocery industry here). I can get it, but have to pay about USD$15 bucks for one pack at ridiculously expensive expat supermarkets.. I love that stuff too. Just a shame how corrupt the Thai authorities are. I'll probably get dragged off to Klong Prem and put in chains just for this comment, but oh well. I suppose they won't be serving Boursin in the Thai monkey house. Come visit me there and bring me some of your beautiful pasta dishes on visiting days. Once you understand how the Thai system works and you can speak some language and , most importantly you have some cash, you can do your time standing on your head, easy. See ya mate
After watching this, I went to the grocery store and guess what’s for dinner. Birria tacos
I hope you enjoyed!
Shouldn't ever sauté with butter or EVOO. Avacado or canola
Oh Jeffrey, you've upset my Mexican wife....You need chile de arbol, guajillo peppers, cinnamon, chile morita, TOMATAOES, onions, and garlic for your salsa. Cook those first and then blend. That's the liquid to cook your meat in...that will also be your consommé.
I'm sure yours were delicious, but a few more ingredients and it will taste authentic.
You can’t please everyone but I have had my share of Birria and these are truly amongst the best of them.
Delicious but very messy
Bullion cubes are better
There is NOTHING 'a little bit' about a Bris !!!!! So... is a Mexican Mohel a Mo-lay?
“Just give ‘em a bit of a briss” 🥴🫣😝
