Have to add in the cost of what it takes the furnace to heat that are to start with , not all that cheap.

In our area the hybrid like this one costs $1859, and the same size electric is $839. Installation is extra. So you pay $1020 more for the hybrid and the theoretical electric savings is $377 per year. So in about 3 years, your about equal in cost and that assumes that nothing on the hybrid breaks or malfunctions. It could be a good deal depending on the cost of your electricity and the amount of heat in your basement because it puts out cool air. The other issue to think about is that this unit also dehumidifies your basement, so if you need one of them, there might be more savings because you may not have to buy one.

Thanks for the info. Great add! Another cost to factor in is that many electric companies provide a cash rebate. I said tax credit in the video accidentally, but the credit it in the form of a check.

Nice! What kind of circuit does it require? I wonder if there's a gas hybrid version. I have gas, but could use the heat pump in the summer, to keep the garage cooler.
