It's so cool that you share your work, bro. I live in California, and I do the exact same things you do, bad inverters, bad ac systems, R&Rs, communication problems, water leaks, etc. I love doing service. We always have lots of work. Hope you have fun in the next one.
Where do you work in California. I am in Hayward lookin for someone to do install.
I am so glad I have a ground mount system. No roof issue to worry about.
Looking forward to seeing the reinstall done correctly.
"Missing the studs" is why I haven't had solar installed. I wouldn't know if they did to job correctly. 😢😢😢
Shingles are such a scam. Limited lifespan and an incredible number of possible leak points. The further south you go, the less the life from the sun UV. With this roof, they used OSB panels and that is the worst possible panel for roof material. The OSB rots very quickly when moisture is allowed to contact.
It’s what my HOA wants 🥲
Thanks for the information at 8:45 - I'll be checking our panels when we go to install (over torquing).
Great info and shows once again why experience matters
Very interesting, thanks for sharing!
Great video dude. So many good things about it. Keep making this type of service content. Super strong - JC
🙏
Not sure how you came on my feed but cant wait to see you install everything back on especially how you do the flashing correctly and run the wiring. Just got a roof leak and wil be removing my panels. This video came in clutch 😂
CZcams is listening lol
You will find it much easier than the solar people tell you. Go for it and save major dollars from the scammers.
Great video man, keep them coming!
Great video!
I like it.. failure mode analysis.. more pls.
🙏
Good shit. Renewable energy at its finest.
nice content just subbed.. when installed the right way... do you recommend roof mount systems or ground mount system if possible
Goos stuff. Do you do any work in Las Vegas?
I am interested for more information on the battery system in your van. Where did you get your battery system?
I do residential service but thinking about trying to get into solar service and removals because like you said most of the companies go out of business. I’m super curious how you price this job or the total for removal and reinstall.
I had the same damage to my roof from solarbear here in Florida. I had to hire a lawer cause they wouldn't cover my roof. Even with providing photos of the hardware missing almost every truss, water dripping from their hardware and even a 3rd part inspector documentation. Still it's been like several months working with an attorney and haven't gotten anywhere with solarbear! 50k for a new roof! After 40k worth of solar had been installed just over a year before we noticed wet spots and leaks!
this is the exact reason im doing a small ground mount option on my backyard instead of damaging the structural integrity of my roof.
It would be great if you could do a follow up to see what was the actual cause of the leak? Perhaps faulty flashings? Those flashings look ridiculously cheapo.
looks like they looped the arrays in the soladeck box.
Exactly. I was beyond confused for a minute. Maybe they ran out of PV connectors?
If they went out of business, were you able to get parts for them?
I have other questions. Can I contact you?
So - when you remove these systems are you charging for removal and then reselling the panels?
If you watch the video he says he's coming back to properly reinstall the system.
Damn I wish you were in California
What is cost to remove and re-install system...ballpark for 18 panels?
Usually around $100/panel
Cheapest in Florida was 250 a panel. The boys and me had those fuckers off in half a day. Screw these prices.
Hey, is there anyway I could pay to get you to come install panels on my house?
If you located in Utah??
any chance I can get you to come to Edmond, Oklahoma? interested in 20 Kwh system with battery back up@@solargoat

Are you joking ?
Optimizer as the name says is put on each and every panel primarily out of 2 reasons.
1st reason is because companies producing inverters have something called layout app where you can register each and every optimizer to create functional layout of the roof where inverter is given information about each location of each panel and knows exactly which panel is non functional in case of malfunction.
2nd in case of shadow covering one or many PVs so that one string does not lose MPPT. That's why its called optimizers
It doesn't just boost any given panel output to 400 V are you insane. In same cases it down volts rest of PVs to simulate less PVs but higher output than in alternative where more pvs create less output due to shadowing so that whole string has more optimized output. Since without it, lowest of the PV that is covered by shadow from chimney for example throws whole string in NON optimal output and in some cases puts inverter in night mod even THOUGH ITS DAZYLIGHT. They are not boosting anything to higher voltage than the MPPT of each individual PV.
In gutter nails we trust
You sir have elephant balls. If you can come up with the money you should invest in systems to improve your safety. Buy the elevator tracks that will bring your panels up and down for you. It's much more dangerous on the ladder when you are also carrying a panel.
