- In the dusty heart of Burkina Faso, where the sun sears the barren earth and the wind whispers secrets of a turbulent past, a revolutionary’s voice rose, echoed, and reverberated across the African plains..
This revolutionary was none other than Thomas Sankara, the late former president of Burkina Faso. Sankara rose to power in 1983, and he immediately became a committed, self-sacrificing rebel who, during his four years as leader of a small, impoverished nation, sought to improve the lives of ordinary people while at the same time projecting the country onto the international stage...

Betrayal often comes from people sitting next to you-Thomas Sankara what an ICON he was!
Spot on my friend
@@Henrikbuitenhuis Visionaries always go down like this, due to the trust they placed on the wrong people!
who else could it come from? you can only be betrayed by a friend or colleagues. not by an enemy.
@@geoffreyjoseph514 What defines you is how an individual overcomes from that position!
As you said "betrayal often comes from the people next to you" and its sad when it's your own black people who you are in defence of,fighting the outside forces who have colonised your land and exploiting your land and your people only to be betrayed by the people you are fighting for. Let me reiterate that the enslavement of Africans was made possible by fellow Africans who acted in collusion with the Europeans all because we have no honour among ourselves as black people.
As a young african, If I can only achieve 10% of what Thomas Sankara acquired I will die peacefully.
Me too at least 5%
You make me cry😢
If I as European can at least help people like you with that, in whatever way is just, I hopefully can die peacefully as well. I feel angry that we never learned about people like Thomas Sankara in school. His story should especially be taught in Europe.

Thomas Isidore Sankara - Leader, pan-african anti-imperialist, environmentalist, gender activist, pro-education, anti-patronage. Truly, truly he was a leader who came before his time. Not without fault but a leader who set himself apart from those before and those that have come after. May the spirit of Sankara once more rise in our leaders! Long live!
What A Leader. Any Colononized Leader should see
AMEN!
He's a great Pan African leader warrior and hero.
Apt summary!🎉😢😢
What is a gander activist??? Please don't tell me that you actually believe that he fought for all of these different ganders???
Thomas Sankara was a Pan-Africanist who worked toward the unification of Africa. He was
killed by the west.
Do not allow them to kill Ibrahim Traore and General Abdourahmane Tchiani of Niger.
Bad leaders get silver for being a sellout and good leaders get lead which is death from 1st world countries.
he literally wasnt killed by "the west"
Sankara was a great man. The last 2 you mentioned, definitely not.
@@kereckelizabeth3625 why?
I am Palestinian and for me the late Thomas Sankara has always been an absolute hero whose story and untimely death at the hands of the French and their lackeys makes me tearful every time. Much love to Burkina and all of Africa from (still Western Imperialist occupied) Palestine and may the memory of Mr Sankara never be forgotten. ❤ 🇵🇸 🇧🇫
Palestine will be free
AMEN!
Israel was inspired by American colonization and probably other western colonizers as well. They used to admit they were colonizers so they could get support from others like the US and UK
Great history and should be followad.
We condemn the apartheid ethnoreliguous state that currently occupy your land
Where are the leaders like Sankara ? A leader who truly loved the people. Humble, visionary who worked for the people. A rare leader.
His spirit is back in BF
The young President of Burkina Faso has it.
Dead
murdered by the cia
Leaders like Sankara never live long, even if we had a New Sankara in 2023 his life would be in danger
The first time I saw a video of this great man, I wept tears. Painful tears. He's a hero. My hero. Much love from Kenya.
I had the honor of meeting and speaking with him when he came to America. God Bless His Soul
What did you two discuss? Where did you meet, state? Thanks.
@@ranjittyagi9354 He came to my college in NY. He invited me to his Presidential Palace. He was garnering young Black American support for his country. He explained naming of Burkina Faso in part of his speech to us before I went up to meet him and shake his hand.

Sankara has my utmost respect. So unfair that his life was cut short after all the wonderful things he did for his country and people 😞

This hero will live forever in us.
... unfortunately so will the traitors! We must cease being polite about those who betray their own people.

Sankara one of Africa's best 👌
Thomas Sankara is a hero
this is the understatement of the century tbh
@tb3667 his successor was worse
the fact he made Marxism work in a way that benefited the people is insane.
There was no massive corruption like Ghana and the USSR, and no mass starvation like Zimbabwe. Flaws were there, of course, but he worked for a better world *and made progress*
0:20 0:20 😅😅 0:20 0:20 😅 0:21 😅
@tb3667You fool , who are you to tell us our history and who our hero is? We know you people ( West ) and we are ready to fight you guys to the last African standing, note today that we will never again allow what happened to Sankara, Gaddafi, Nandi, Nkrumah etc to happen again to any of our leaders. You bloody fool westerner.
A true unsung African hero. A true Pan Africanist, not these wannabes.
Burkina faso will inshallah prosper and become rich much love from saudi arabia 🇸🇦 ❤️ 🇧🇫
I am African, a Panafricanist and Rwandan. His Late forever President Sankara is an ALL Africa Hero! Oh how sweet to see him reincarnated in the today's Leader Capitaine Président!
We are glad God has raised an army of leaders for Africa, Amen.
this is why it's important to continuously tell their stories. We keep their values and achievements alive for the next generation to learn from.
Waiting for it...Sankara the HERO
Our great Hero can't never forget you.
The revolution never truly dies✊
Your enemies are closer than you think
A pure truthful honest Son of Africa, and a Man of his words, living the Actions of his mouth, Governed by intelligence and understanding colonialism ,directly and indirectly, once awake, hard to go back to sleep, the ultimate price, lest it be forfeited
Africa rise up. Now is the time❤
Wow, an actual leader who stood for the people even after he gained power. You don’t see that almost anywhere anymore. RIP Sankara, you were a real one.
Sankara was a man ahead of his time. The nation was on the verge of a new era, but sadly, had to be dragged back into the giant belly of the colonials that have been slowly sucking the continent leaving behind lands devoid of stability, resources, and progresses. It appears what is good for Africa always does not last long or severely suppressed by the indirect muscle of the colonials or by our own power hungry pigs. After nearly 40 years post Sankara's death, the continent still worships foreign influences, leaders still kill their own people to grab a chair as a pathway to self wealth gratification, officials still live in palace rolling in imported luxury automobiles while mothers in the motherland mix tiny grain powder with large water to reach out to all their children, and so much more. The continent needs someone to carry on Sankara's kind of legacy if there is any hope for Africa to see a new light of a day.
Ibrahim Traore is the man today for Burkina Faso, but I don't think that he can match up with Sankara when it comes to making women to go to the service sector, because Ibrahim Traore is a Muslim. Sankara made it possible because he is a Christian and there's a difference treatment for women when it comes to religion, I think.
He was a hero of his people, also, you need more micro details on who 'colonials' actually are
I know for a fact that the wealth of EUROPE was built by slaves.
@@redshift1223 France, America, and now Russia and China to my knowledge are the main Neo Colonial influences
May his soul continue to rest in peace. Amen!
One of the greatest revolutionaries that Africa has ever had. AFRICA needs leaders with the heart of Sankara and his revolutioary mind. God bless his legacy, people🇧🇫 and Africa ✊🏿❤️
What took him away is still the cause of why Africa countries will remain in poverty, the greediness and selfishness of our black leaders.. Without a crack in the wall, no creepling reptiles can gain access to it. When the West spot a greedy and selfish person, it easier to use them against other black people..
Sankara was a visionary, a true African Hero.
May his soul be blessed ✊🏾🌍
The Great Thomas Sankara, he has set the most unlikely to be reached standards in leadership in Africa.
Thomas Sankara the Man for the people, a Hero history cannot ignore and a landmark to remember. He is one of Africa's finest. I soo much love this man
We need him now.
He’s reincarnated in Ibrahim Traore . Throw him your full support .
I have always heard about Thomas Sankara but this is the first time I will really know about his life.
What a leader. He modeled what political leadership should look like. May his life inspire a revolution of leadership character in Africa.
Thomas Sankara comes second after K. Krumah as the greatest sons of Africa. He's ETERNAL. Hands down
He trully a Progressive man, advance in his time. Great leader, Great Soul and more than a Noble Man - a Great Honourable Thomas Shankara.
French neo colonialism killed him. But his legacy lives on especially today with the young military taking over and finishing what he started. Bravo 👏
Since the days he came to visit President Babangida I would have watched his photos and read about him one thousand times and once had his photo hanging in my room. I don't know how and why am obsessed about Sankara PBOH.
Ibrahima traore is the new sankara.suport from Kenya 🇰🇪❤️
Truly the harvest is plentiful, but the labourers are few !!
The story of Sankara reminds me a lot of Samora Machel! In the early 60s when Josina Machel demanded that women play the same role as men in the armed struggle Samora agreed and some of Mozambique's greatest heroes of the independence war are women!
And they liked each other
Dankie Siyabonga from South Africa

Son Of The Soil. Thank you for the detailed information About our African Hero. I am from Zimbabwe
This was an amazing Masterclass on the late great Thomas Sankara. It’s very sad the Self Hate that exists among Africans and African Descendants worldwide that we would allow Money, Power,Greed and Foreign influences to get into our heads and destroyed our very own. The enemy used his very own to take him down. I wake up every day with this thought what went wrong? Why do hate each other but, very welcoming to the very people where either themselves or their ancestors have caused us so much pain? Our minds need to be Born Again!! Thanks
Hail Thomas Sankara!!! More leaders should take an example out of him!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Long live Sankara 🙌🏿 Africa will Rise

If the rumors are true about Ibrahim Traore being the reincarnation of Comrade Thomas Sankara, I pray that nothing will stop the African Revolution from rising from the grave like the Phoenix.
Thomas Sankara and Che Guevara are the true Revolutionaries that practiced what they preached. My country Nigeria, my continent Africa and the world needs such heroes to save us from the monsters of Imperialism.
Bless you and Rise Africa, Rise!
Since you mentioned Che Guevara, you must mention Fidel Castro who had the support of most of the Cuban people and stood up and survived many attempts on his life, but outlived several imperialists until he died peacefully in his homeland! Amazibg fact! Please do a similar case study on Fidel. I often think and wonder how did he survive the several attempts to kill him! I strongly believe he was divinely protected and he 3as disciplined! He paid attention to the Spirit guidance. He was so led by the Almighty that he was able to thwart the plot of the enemies! We all have to pay attention and seek the Most High for wisdom and guidance. We cannot rely on ourselves alone! Blessings to every righteous soul!!!❤❤❤
I have his picture in my sitting room. The only picture of personal that is not part of my family
Legend 😢❤
Tatenda never disappoints with his documentaries about African historical figures,he also looks at both sides of the story rather than only the canonized side of a historic figure,he also addresses the short comings so we get a balanced view of the person.
Sankara was sabotaged by Ivorian leader Felix Boigny who was an unapologetic French puppet, today we have Capitaine Traore leading Africa's 3rd Revolution.
Speaking of the current Capitaine,he finds himself at odds with the current Ivorian Leader Alasane Ouattarra who is again another unapologetic French puppet, except he is actually the biggest French puppet ever.
This time around,we have social media and many of us are speaking with one voice to come together and get rid of the remaining Western puppets in Power like Ouattarra,Sall ,Tinubu and the other fella in GABON.These French puppets are being overthrown by coups and Ouattarra is next.
The France prefecture of Togo and the head prefect from the evil Eyadema family
The Zion train has set off already and is rolling on its invisible rails like wind can’t be seen but felt and it’s actions visible. All puppets will be crushed is just a matter of time.Ecowas must be dissolved. Urgency matter. What do you think?

STOP using these people's weapons to keep ourselves. THAT'S all we're doing and they happily keep giving you the weapons because "they" benefit😮💨😤
