Bahn Mi is the "gateway drug" of Vietnamese food. The white pickled thing is Daikon Radish. Pate is made with Liver. Delicious! You do know you just opened a Pandora's box now. Find a good Vietnamese restaurant now and start ordering randomly off the menu. You will be blown away! Their food is some of the best in the world. No kidding!
JBC, not sure if you've tried the Vietnamese noodle soup pho before, but you should do a food review on it. Love your personality and much love from the Vietnamese community!
Get a Bahn Mi and dip it in a Pho Tai as you eat it, I mean if you like real flavor. Very different but similar to an Italian hot beef sandwich, dry is not near as good.
Nice video. Usually, you can find bigger banh mi. The ones at the Vietnamese restaurants here in Tampa are bigger. Also, I recommend trying Vietnamese egg rolls aka cha gio and any Vietnamese dishes with grilled pork in it. (Thit nuoung)

Yeah I’ve heard this wasn’t the best looking BAHN mi lol
Should go to a vietnamese restaurant and try more. Ask the servers for recommendations. Also great video
Some places make it really good and some place make it like garbage.
Good job man! Open minded.
Banh mi. Pho, Bun Bo Hue, Bun cha
They are only tip of the iceberg Vietnam food
Thanks from Vietnam
Oh this was just the beginning
When you started squeezing the bun like a memory foam mattress lol…
😂
Lol, as a Vietnamese i can see that "banh mi" is not good because bread crust is not crispy
Pork liver pate
Yess ! Banh Mi: pate is chicken liver spread! The one you thought was onion is actually daikon! (: haha The carrots and daikon is pickled together.
Thanks for the info! I knew I would get some of that wrong.
Pate is duck liver paste, some places they might use chicken liver to reduce costs
In Vietnam, pate is also made from Pork liver too. It gives a slightly different (fattier) texture.
The Viet pork bun is good, but the Chinese pork bun is even better!! (if you like sweet pork, don't knock it haha) it's so good!
add a little soy sauce with the banh mi
Will do next time.
Nooo, can't be soy sauce. It has to be maggi sauce only
This is don`t Vietnamese Banh Mi.this is Fake Vietnamese Banh Mi of Chinese in US
Oh really?? I will try to find a real BAHN mi
Where I live it is hard to find authentic Vietnamese food.
That banh mi looks sad and soggy
Yeah I thought so as well.
I tried another one, it was a little better I think.
That banh mi looks really small, I don’t think that place is good. By the way, pâté means foie gras
I’ll hunt for more legit ones. What am I looking for that makes it good?
