It's About Time I Try My First Pho. Pho is a savory Vietnamese rice noodle dish that really warms the soul, but was my pho experience full of yum at Pho Yum in Albany

We decided to try Pho Yum on Central Ave in Albany for My First Pho. In addition to Pho, they make banh mi sandwiches, bun vermicelli, and offer various other Asian soup and noodle dishes in addition to tea and coffee beverages.

    OWNER RESPONDS!

A hot bowl of beef pho never disappoints me , especially when I am hungry . The broth unique taste is the result of simmering hours in beef bone , various spices , anise , clove , minced ginger and onions .

I haven't been to Pho Yum in a long time. when they first opened I was not impressed but tried them again a bit later and the bahn mi were delicious! I'll have to go back for the Pho!

Hey! I'm somewhat a regular at this place! Pho 3 meats with double yum (extra rich broth) add-on is my go to pho, but you have the right idea going back for the bahn mi. Classic ham bahn mi is amazing, I just recommend lifting the top of it and evenly spreading out the picked veg, so you get some in every bite. Def one of the best sandwiches period. Their bun vermicelli and summer rolls are really good healthier options that don't slack on flavor, the fresh herbs and sauce that it comes with are amazing. I usually get the grilled sliced pork bun vermicelli and the grilled pork sausage summer rolls, but the shrimp summer rolls have probably the best overall fresh-taste to compliment the bright herb flavor of the summer rolls. You should also check out Pinto Thai a couple doors down from pho yum! Some of the best thai in the area. Pad see ew and pad pong karee noodles are ridiculous. If celedon thai has the best pad thai, then this place has the best wide rice noodles in the area.

I would not put hosin and Sriracha in it unless the broth isn't that good. Pho is more about the broth.

Nice to hear a fellow scientist use the word turbidity in a food review. Double thumbs up for that one.

    What’s the intro song?

Pho is overrated. Had it 3 times from 2 different places. Not this place. Weak-ass broth just ruins it. It looks wonderful, but everything is tasteless. The pork bellies taste lame. They taste like they’re boiled for sure. I put in all the spices and lotsa soy sauce. Nothing. Get the Hahn mi instead. Love the pate.
