I have an Audiocontrol X9 and I love it!!!!
Thank you for doing this review. I have not found many reviews for this processor and was hoping that someone would do a video on it. Unfortunately I already purchased the Denon AVR-X3800Xm so I guess I will have to wait another year before upgrading again. I would like to see a video on the setup process and how the menus look if you could possibly do that. Thanks and keep up the great reviews!!!
100% agree with your comments.
The biggest upgrades to my speakers sound was when I got an external Monolith amplifier and when I got the monolith HTP-1 processor w/ Dirac bass control. It really does make your speakers and subs disappear. I boost my bass by 6db. I also use Dirac bypass when listening to music.
Spot on review
How are you liking the htp-1 I just ordered one
@@gufiaito69able I love it! I highly recommend bass control as well. The upgrade is worth every penny. Dirac rule really make your speakers disappear.
I also highly recommend that you use a UPS. My original unit actually got damaged after a brownout during a winter storm. It was a pain in the butt to get a replacement. However, after that I put it on a UPS. I haven't had any problems since. The processor really is more like a computer than your typical AV equipment. Other than that it has been rock solid.
The weakest component in my home theatre is Hollywood.
Garbage in, garbage out, eh?
Tell me about it 😭
😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂🎉😂
Top Gun Maverick saved Hollywood
Crazy... think I'll be fine with a Onkyo RZ50 along my Sony A95L QD Oled.
I thought TV Upgrading FOMO is bad, but Hifi is a never ending rabbit hole of madness.
True, sometimes it's best to be content with what you have.
Indeed, this is something that I think by its very design nature lends itself to quickly becoming addictive - and very expensive. There is ALWAYS an "upgrade" path from where you are now and there are no less than about 1,000 companies out there (if not more) that are MORE than happy to help guide you down that path. And, every year, no matter how good your current system is, they always figure out a way to come up with something that's new and improved and you will always be thinking about if it is worth it to upgrade or not, even if you are absolutely certain that the system you have now is more than good enough already. Welcome to the world of Home Theater! :)
@michaelbeckerman7532 Facts on fax my brother. I started with a 5.1 basic, now & $9,000 later I sit in a 9.2.6 😂. Anthem 70 8K processor, , sound pad rug, wire hiders, amps, xlr cables, xlr to rca connectors, 4k movies, 10 acoustic panels, latest klipsch speakers, speaker stands. But if you buy once you cry once. I'm good for the next 7 years minimum until something REALLY WORTHWHILE comes out. My LG GX 77" came out 3 years ago, not buying another LG until G6 comes out 😂
@@o.c.g.m9426wait...no Kalediscape? No Christie projector? No 160" ALR screen? No MadVR processor? You are out of date and well behind the times there, my man - time for an UPGRADE!!! :)
Awesome, I just bought one today
Been waiting on this one I currently have the Avm 70 not happy hdmi issue support lacking. Will just save for other storm or trinnov 16 pro. Pro. I have the same issue like you living room setup side channels in the ceiling
Great stuff. i currently have the SDP-55 and im a big fan. I do want to hear the Trinnov in my room though. I would like to hear how much of a difference it will be before i purchase it. And yeah, Dreammedia are good dudes. i would love of you one day to demo a lumagen or Envy video processor.
Thanks for the review! It’s built on the Arcam AV40 platform so basically the same processor.
Some key differences, like DACs, but you’re right
Yes Harman builds them for Audiocontrol. I use the Arcam AV40 myself. DACs in both are the ESS9026PRO 😊
Built on the same platform, yes...but not built by Haman. The Arcam and JBL Synthesis models are built in Vietnam, AudioControl builds their units in house in the USA to allow them to "hot rod" them with XLR inputs, better S/N, and and a more rigid housing. The AudioControl units are more akin to the JBL Synthesis line than the Arcam series of products. @@avgeek8810
Like to see how this holds up again anthem
Pretty cool
I'm looking for something I can set up in a venue I'm working at.
So basically they are using AES to go from the sound desk to the amps, but the Analogue inputs on the amps can still be used. I want to set up a basic 5.1 split that takes a HDMI source (or optical) and splits it out into 6 XLRs for; Left, Right, Balcony Left, Balcony Right, Rear Fills & Sub. It's annoying there are only 3 amps, cause it means the rear fills and subs have to both be mono.
please make a detailed video about physical connections between speakers and amplifier
Thanks
You absolutely can send your X7 into Audiocontrol to have it upgraded to hdmi 2.1, for a cost of course.
Hello...love Ur presentation....from Uganda
Thank you! 🙏🏾
@tHAvIlLaMaN --- Is this for music or movie/game rooms?
Do you still need a processor for video?
Do modern processors keep older Dolby, dts, etc. standards or do they get left out to make use of new ones?
I have the equivalent JBL SDP-58 and I agree that overall it's awesome, but the firmware still needs some work as there are still bugs here and there particularly with exporting Dirac filters. I also wish the updates were more frequent for something at this price level.
Usually when you have issues with exporting Dirac filters it’s because of the internet or corrupt Dirac file. My AV40 has locked up once or twice during transfer.
Sounds like the Arcam AV41 is basically the more affordable version of this exact processor, but WITH HDMI 2.1. ... Right?
I’m happy with my Arcam AVR 20, now I just need to choose a affordable speakers lol
What would you recommend between this AudioControl X7, the JBL SDP-55, Anthem AVM70, Monolith HTP-1 or McIntosh MX-100? Trying to decide between these processors right now, any advice is much appreciated!
SDP 58. Then use Dirac
Hey man I've been waiting and am curious but are you getting the LG g3 and Samsung s95c to review
I am. They’re just really hard to get a hold of right now. A couple weeks is the current timeline
@@tHAvIlLaMaN heck yeah I just always look forward to your unboxings and testing videos you always do it right! you half way sold me when I bought my samsung q90r in 2019 and now have been waiting for you to get these two lol
Looks great. But What happened to the Trinnov?
The Trinnov replaced this
@@tHAvIlLaMaN ahh fairy play. What’s next with the projector. So you selling the LG?
does it have two dedicated subwoofer channels? Or is it 1 with a Y split two Subwoofer outputs?
Up to 5 dedicated channels
@@tHAvIlLaMaN oh wow.
Try the Sony ES for the best object panning.
I’ll be getting one in soon. Really curious to see how it performs compared to the Trinnov
The room correction is trash on the Sony though
@@Ctripp2448 I have read that as well, would have to buy 2x minidsp DDRC-88a and add Dirac the hard way!
@@HollisNolanThat would actually be a waste of money
10 db curve, my god you run the system hot.
But two questions: Whats up with the 16.5hz lower shelf correction limit with DLBC? Have you lowered the lower curtain to 10 hz?
Also, looks like your target curve on the trinnov is correcting to 10 hz. If the trinnov is correcting to 10hz, with that ~6db boost, and the DLBC to 10db boost at 16.5hz lower limit, that extra 6.5 of infrasonics might be the reason to why the trinnov bass sounds better. It should shake the house more.
His ported marty cube subs are tuned to 22hz (19hz advertised) so they need to start backing off around that level to keep the drivers safe.
That's exactly the same remote as my Arcam AVR860 processor remote how weird.
That's because it is an Arcam remote😂
It’s not weird, Harman builds Audiocontrol as well.
Arcam, Lexicon, JBL, Audiocontrol, all the same.
Looks horrible inside like every hyped pre-pro. Comparing with this a Yamaha processor is state of the art( electronically ofc ) Definietly not worth much that costs. I like your channel btw. :)
The wiring on the AudioControl is awful and unprofessional, especially given the price point.
Unfortunatly these types of products like the trinov are just so expensive that i think you should just go professional at that point. Youll get better bang for buck
Professional as in what exactly?
@@tHAvIlLaMaN Barco, qsc, dolby, etc. Cinema stuff
@Tha_VillaMan Dolby CP850/ CP950, That's the processor for cinema's 64 ATMOS channels, around $15k. You can pick them up alot cheaper secondhand but if I remember correctly they are locked to 7.1 and you need to buy a license from dolby to unlock the extra channels
lol il will stick with Yamaha. $6k lmao you out your damn mind.
