    When you mentioned that the Audiocontrol was practically an Arcam which I love, I looked for an audiocontrol on eBay and found an AVR-9 which is their top of the line last year model receiver and made an offer for $1500 and was accepted. So I’m exited for that. Great review by the way 👍

    Hi great video , the audio control av processor is just like the lexicon MC 10 av also the ARCAM av 860 the rear panels are identical and uses the same platform , I’ve been using a denon avr x4300h for a couple of years then decided to have a separate av processor and power amps my system is 7.1.4 so after doing some research I purchased the Arcam av860 along with two marantz power amps , I had the Dirac live calibration done by my local hifi dealer , with every upgrade your never sure of the results but once everything was set up WOW it’s crazy how much more detail , control and an overall better sound , a well worth investment
    I’d recommend Arcam , lexicon , audiocontrol and with the arcam it’s about £1000 less than the other two :)

      @nonametofame Před 4 lety +2

      I came from the same Denon, x4300, and upgraded the power amps first. Nice bump in SQ. But going to this M5, was a significant jump. It sounded excellent even without Dirac. But combined with Dirac, it's now on a new level of clarity, balance, and dynamics.

  • @nonametofame

    Excellent, comprehensive review. Seems to nail all the most critical factors, especially reliability. Something I don't think the Emotiva RMC-1 will do. But all eyes on the Monolith HTP-1 now. Pretty solid track record based on their amps and subwoofers. Was the Maestro cleaner sounding than the NAD?

    • @therealshanelee
      @therealshanelee  Před 5 lety

    I’m getting the X9 with the new JC1+s on Tekton Moabs in a few weeks. I want the DACs in the X9 so I might not have to buy a separate preamp(value!)and I can’t stand all of these janky 16 ch pre/pros that don’t work as advertised. It seems like AudioControl is the only company with a well specced, non boutique product that actually works. I hope I can trust the brand to not screw me on the X9 since I’ll have an early copy and nobody has reviewed it yet.🤞

      J573 Hello, I’m a dealer for Audiocontrol at their highest level and an X9 plus a Savoy would be almost 7k at cost. That is good deal if you can get it. are you getting the 7,5 or 4 channel amp? I’ve signed up to be a Trinnov dealer as well. So i just received my trinnov altitude 16 with my new Audiocontrol Savoy 7 channel amps x 2 plus one 5 channel amp. Sounds amazing. Plus I’ve preordered 2 RS1000 Audiocontrol sub amps. Email me at woodlandshometheater@gmail.com if want. Thank you, Michael

The only issue I’ve really got is I don’t have a laptop or windows based computer I’ve got IMac and am wondering what you would recommend for a receiver that can do IMAX. May just get a Denon or Marantz and save a grand or more as well and not have to worry about connecting to Apple computer.

    This processor is too expensive for only 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos and DTS: X processing. It should have at least 9.1.6 along with DTS: X Pro, if not more outputs (maybe 11.1.8) in this price range. As others have already stated, the forthcoming Monoprice HTP-1 looks like a somewhat better deal.
