I guess the hooptie fleet has gotten less hooptie, but for most of my adult life it was much like this. I'm a lover, though, not a fighter... but not beneath kicking someone in the plums and running away when threatened.
Need a 944 in your fleet one day 👀 also i seen you in the 04 rich group haha keep up the good work
One of the goat CZcamsrs is here
The GOAT of automotive shonkiness! Love me some Hoovie!
Got just the name for Alex’s 700,000 mile Volvo. And it’s…. Miley! Like for Alex to see
U GUYS NEED TO COLAB!
I'm not even a Porsche fan really but that 944 really put a smile on my face. It's from a good year (i.e. the year I was born), great design - completely timeless. I don't care what you do to it, but I'd love to see more of it!
I just think he missed the opportunity to call that Porsche Friedrich...😜
show the fluid conservation to prevent rust.
I think the 944 should be kept as stock as possible, but some little era and period correct mods would be awesome 😎
Yep, def, or those old style modern stereo systems, those would be both nice and awesome
Those things are expensive, I ended up buying a modern stero and putting a new front cover on
@@wills9487 your idea is def not bad
As a topgear fan, i remember the funny topgear support group sketch alex made when clarkson left the bbc, and the guys at car throtlle filled in that gap clarkson left before starting the grand tour. 6-7 years later seeing alex start an all new channel is really inspiring. Top notch content, godspeed mate, love from India
Perfect line up, do wish your old RX-8 was amongst them though!
i’m planning to get one soon so the living with a rotary series is super useful
The RX-8 has been messed about with now, as we saw on Car Throttle, so it would not be the same car.
NA Rotary is fun for like 20 mins
@@anon7661 I don’t think Rob Dahm got the memo 😂
Owned one for nearly 3 years now- still love it. All standard other than exhaust and radio, drives a dream!
you bring whatever you want onto this channel. there's a reason we followed you here from car throttle. high entertainment value!
Well said man 👍😉
Yup what he said 👌
What a lineup! There isn’t a weak link in that fleet. They’re all so cool in their own right. Love it!
Hello Jack big fan of yours mate boris the micra is a beast 👍🏼
@@bigduphusaj162 bit mad you got smoked by a 116d?
@@saqz11 bmw's are renowned for spitting metal everywhere inside the engine when you actually give them some rag over a long period, so many twats with lowered bits of unbadged garbage that blow a hole when they spin there tires in a empty tesco carpark in the summer.
same as these little tinfoil fiesta's from ford. With 1ltr engines and a can of coke turbo and people think they have 230hp cause of a remap and they blow bits of it apart in no time cause of nothing being built to last.
Weird comments.
Taylor is one of those friend we wish we've had but we never have
I love your taste in cars. And your mod selection. Awesome!
Personally, i want to see more of everything! Cleaning, servicing, fixing stuff, restoration. And of course, road trips (like challenges, Nürburgring etc) would be amazing. Keep doing what you do
Love the car collection Alex so much better than if it was Ferraris and Lamborghinis etc. relatable car collection. Well done Alex love the channel always
Alex, don't ask us what we want. Just do the things. If you make the videos, we will watch them.
8:27 "Phil is going to be scrapped" 🤣 that one won't get past us! 🤣
I would 100% love to see the 944 on the channel I would be great to see some mods go into it
Yes more 944 content!!! Wasted spark ignition, cam and remap gets them over 200 brake. And they really respond well to chassis mods, transformed my buddy’s 83 944 (bushes etc)
And then a road trip to mum's place, with the obligatory chocolate milk stop.
Yes!! This is awesome.
In the Netherlands it is impossible to own a fleet of shitboxes. Both use and ownership of cars are taxed heavily.
Good for you Alex 💪🏼
Fred looks great. I’d love more of these 944s. I’d focus on history, maintenance and common issues of these more than modding. It’s a car we all wish we owned but are too scared of costs and maintenance when you have a wife to explain it to. 😊
Old cars are the best, I have a e60 535d with 175,000 miles on it, recently dyno'd at 390hp and 810nm and a clio 182 which I absolutely love. I've tried owning newer cars but the older stuff is so cheap and easy to repair and maintain. One day I'll have a fleet like yours! Can't wait for more videos!
Feel you, I've had a 98 audi as my newest car, went straight back to late 80s cars afterwards. Older is a lot more straight forward and easier to keep an eye on to make sure they are reliable
Awesome combination of cars!
535d’s are animals! Had one myself a few years back, there’s just something about the E60 that’s makes them a pleasure to drive
Lucky, I want an e60 535d so bad but we never got them in the usa.
@@bigduphusaj162 They will do that with an upgraded intercooler and downpipe on stock turbos (mapped). Some even closer to 880 nm.
I want to see more of the 944, I absolutely love classics. Don't ruin it, keep it standard.
I was about to comment this. I would love to see a road trip though!
but what do you do with a completely standard 944 from a content perspective?
That 944 needs a v8
Yess pleaseee, fix seats to full black leather
@@lukecowell7516 Nah just a tune will be enough for the stock engine, a v8 will just make it undriveable
944 is an absolute beauty, would love to see more stuff done w it.
I would love seeing the 944 being restored. Maybe give it a bit of fine tuning but I would keep it looking all stock. One of my favorites cars
700k miles that Volvo is insane can’t wait to see its intro video
Taylor is my Favorite addition to the channel 🙌🏻
I'm so excited about the high mileage Volvo! Let's see more content on this please!
The 944. Broke my heart when you said it didn’t handle well etc….. do it some justice, mate, and get her fully sorted. Won’t take much money. Good coilovers, wider wheels and grippy tires, suspension overhaul and brakes before a tickle on the engine…. Keep it standard n subtle on the outside.
more 944! whatever fun things you wanna do with it I'd love to see as a 944 driver myself. If you want to do some youtube type stuff with it check out the lindsey racing maf conversion kit, adds horsepower and reliability
Love the 944, crazy to think of how cheap you could buy them in the early naughties.
Would love to see you OEM+ it. Leather interior etc
Yeah but keeping it original is where the character's at.
i love OEM+ if it's done well, But original is indeed where the character is usually at.
Kind of a hard choice if one had to choose between those two option. At least for me it is.
Any of them could be cool to see though
I’m glad you cleared things up with that Volvo as you had me questioning my loyalty! I was going back through your videos thinking I had missed a video 😂 can’t wait for the video on it 💪🏻
I love a 944. As a teenager, there was a black Turbo owned by the local mechanic and it looked cool as heck and sounded amazing, so I will always be there for 944 content, and it's a car that's getting rarer every day; and just like the good old Mk2 MX-5, the 944 made such good daily drivers that a lot are so high mileage they're past saving, and the ones that are still in driveable state are worth a fortune.
Really excited to see the S2000 made good. That engine is simply phenomenal.
I said that
Hell yeah
My favorite by far is the Coupé, love the 5 cylinder turbo growl, i miss my fiat marea that had this engine
You and Taylor genuinely have to take your cars to the runway to see who truly has the faster car it would make an incredible video
Been watching you for years and loving what your doing. Would love to see a road trip with the 944 ❤
Fast becoming among my favorite CZcamsrs right now so well done Alex. I'm hoping for more roadtrips and adventures with your current fleet of cars!
I love Rory's cinematic work, such a nice flow and colors!
Brilliant line up, 👏 keep up the good work. Love the High Miles volvo. Can't wait to watch that
Absolutely bloody sterling line up, old boy. Subtle mods on the 944 is definitely the way forward, one wouldn’t want to go spoiling a classic. Keep up the great work on the channel, I’m getting a vibe of Hoovies Garage about this..superb.
The 944 in my opinion is perfect and doesn't need doing, but if there's no better videos than living with one I wouldn't mind seeing it
Love your view on cars and the kind of stuff you like to do with them, you can absolutely tell how much you enjoy doing this. Get in mate!
it's so down to earth fleet, no super/hyper car, just cars you can see everywhere and that's what is making it cool
Gotta love a high mileage hero 👌🏻 we definitely need to see more of the 944 but what about doing a road trip down memory lane in it to the dealership your mum got her 944 from and maybe to Stuttgart?
Loved this video, Alex. These cars are more interesting to me, than the newer more expensive stuff. I would love to see more on the Porsche, I’m sure there is a lot of love for it. I get the same feelings when I see cars similar like my father used to own, when I saw a kid. I get most excited about the e31 8 series.
Are the latest Range and E60 a part of the fleet too? Cheers
Please some more 944 content !! Nice Collection you got there, Good to see Phil again :)
Like all of them, so good to see a fleet that’s obtainable and needs work……..probably constantly. Love the 944 btw, oh and more Taylor
Awesome lineup, impressive mileage on the Volvo and a big fan of the original X5 first generation. Like to see more videos on these two
I really really really want to see more of the 944. Maybe some wheels, suspension and maybe some surprises. Can't wait to see what you are planing for the next episode.
I think the OEM+ s2000 plan is awesome, but for power and sound I think you should go with ITB's, I think it would suit the car very well
F*** ITB, they are overrated .Roots style blower is the way for s2000, no lag low end torques. The most ITBs give you is soundtrack.
Alex been following you for the longest time from @car throttle love ur vids man always have keep em up mate I swear u got it in ur blood
I appreciate you. Bravo for the choices made with the cars. I proceeded somewhat similarly with the cars and I also have a similar number that require attention and they each have something to say. mr2, c140 cl500, 2x190E, TT 8n awd, citroen Oltcit and a c5, ex father car a6 c5 1.8t.
For the timing chain on the s2k, I would first check the timing chain tensioner, very, very, VERY common and much cheaper fix than the chain itself.
Best mods I've found in my decade of ownership:
Twin pot calipers off an accord type r bolt directly on
4.77 final drive out of a kia sportage, makes the car much more drivable and punchy
UK 38mm mod on standard exhaust
Lots of others, but these are cheap and cheerful!
Normally get a kit that includes the chain so its no brainer to do both
Old tensioner can't compensate a very stretched out chain and that's the noise there . The new one will do the trick for a short while . Without changing the chain is just usless
Damn you must be paying a fortune on TAX :D
I doubt he taxes them all year round.
These people in Uk pay taxes for the cars that are driven not on what they own. If things were the same in my country i would have owned at least 5 cars.
@@endlesstwisties Yeah, me too. In Serbia we have to pay the whole year's registration for every car, no matter if it is driven or not. >:(
@@DashCamSerbia i am in Romania close to Serbia . Same kind of laws
@@endlesstwisties :(
Alex you are the hoovie of the uk. Can't wait to watch the channel grow. Keep up the good work
Always down for vids on your cars, whichever one it is. Loves the vids
Maaaan Barney is a real looker ain't he? I've organised my life in such a way I don't NEED a car anymore but it's stuff like this that almost convinces me to make a questionable financial decision.
Why in the world would you organize your life like that? I usually make decisions, so I have an excuse to do an awesome road trip or buy myself a new motorcycle for example! Enjoy it while you still can, before we all drive electric lawn mowers.
It would be interesting to know the annual insurance costs for the fleet - it's probably a fair chunk of the overall value!
Probably has fleet or motor trade insurance mine is around 1200 a year for up to 10 personal cars and then am insured in anyone elses that is in my care up to 50k value.
@@markcrawford5098 lol my insurance is 2 grand for 1 car driven under 10,000km per year
I'm so glad you're still so down to earth with your car collection. So many CZcamsrs who start out with shit boxes suddenly make the switch to Lambos and their channel is just one big "flex" after that.
Also, the X5 is just a brilliant car. I love mine...until I have to fill it up with fuel 😂
At the pull after [10:58] the look on Taylors face as the boost hits so funny. Can just imagine whats going through his head a mix of frustration and appreciation in equal measures haha
I really want to see more of the 20v Turbo and the 944 very unique and different to the usual stuff you see on CZcams maybe you and Taylor should take both of your 20v turbos to the Nurburgring and see who can set a faster lap time
Absolutely love the 944’s, I drove one on slicks with everything in the suspension done. It was on ground control coilovers and completely gutted. What an experience an absolute drivers car.
Alex as much as we love watching your cars, we are also here to watch you and your story! so i would love to see more of the Porsche ! idear go to a place and show it off, maybe give a kid or 2 a ride :) love the show btw
Love your content Alex and I have enjoyed hat you have done over time n this channel and over on CarThrottle! 🍻🇦🇺 much love from ye mates Down Under
Loving the 944 mate,it always reminds me of Clarkson's story about using his, back in the day to go see his dying dad in his last moments... Also please DO NOT scrap Phil,as he looks proper and with all the time and money spent on him,he's well worth keeping!
I don't think he is going to Scrap Phil, he was just screwing us. By the way, the Porsche that Jezza used in both challenges (Porsche and V8) was the 928, James used the 944 in the Porsche challenge.
That's a 928
I love Alex ❤️
Yeah more Porsche! You have a genuine love of it. Keep it original just restore it and do some adventures in it
“Phil is going to be scrapped” yeah OKAY ALEX 😂
8:25 “Phil is gonna be scrapped” yeah sure
lmao
You’re scrapping Phil??? Noo! We love Phil!
If I wan't broke, I'd offer to buy Phil :/
Ikkkkkk, so sad
Would definitely love to see more of the 944. I love classics especially Porsche's! Lovely car doesn't have to be fast to have a laugh.
Hell yeah! Looking forwards to what's coming up!
Alex you have a loveable collection there mate. Made me chuckle when you said “Phil’s going to be scrapped” 🤣.
I absolutely adore your Fiat Coupe 20V Turbo! And I’m so happy that it’s all good after the last time it featured on the channel. I own a Mk2 Focus ST and I just love a 5 pot.
Can’t wait to see more of Fabrizio.
Massive thumbs up to your high mileage hero Volvo! 721k is impressive but not surprising. Probably got another 721k easy. A credit to Volvo and the engineering.
This is every man’s dream. To own a collection of “shitboxes”.
Loved the videos and can’t wait to see more of your loveable cars ❤️
Love the seats!!! The logo just topped it for me!
I really want to see that 944 it’s one of my favourites and any old Porsche is amazing! Love the channel alex 💪💪
That techno violet e46 is stunning 😍
Looking forward to seeing the s2000 progress mate!
I think a road trip in the 944 would be an epic vid and maybe take a trip down memory lane with it
I saw that S90 on twitter a couple of years ago, glad to hear it's going to get some love. Content on mods on the Porsche sound good to me.
The 944 is a cracking motor, of course we'd love to see more of it on the channel! Personally, I'd love to see the car rejuvenated, give it the fountain of youth treatment. It's been around a long time and like an aging popstar, things have probably began to "loosen and sag" and has started to wheeze when walking up some stairs, so why not give it a true once over and overhaul the car, replace any bits that might be aging and give the car back some of its stiffness, give back some youthful exuberance and maybe give it a few more SUBTLE horses to make the car feel like its fresh off the assembly line! We don't need mad stance, it doesn't have to be lowered or spaced or have a HUGE blow off valve in it, but enough grunt to really give it those Porsche leg's once more!
Fred is sooo cool, show us more of it. Reminds me of my 89 Ford Probe GT
Lol very fitting of you to show us the S80 for the first time today - because I will change the clutch in mine today. Let's see how that goes.
2.4 140hp , but it's pretty solid for a WinterBeater. Only one wheel arche needs welding (if I care enough to actually do it one day)
Great fleet! Would love to see more of the 944, one of my bedroom wall poster cars.
And of course, the first Volvo video!
Keep em coming big boy 💪
Fantastic stuff Alex and what a lineup. I only found your channel in the last few weeks but have been binging the videos and its just so amazing to see someone with such genuine passion and love for their cars. I recently changed cars myself going from a Hyundai Coupe to a Jaguar XE which would be my first, dare I say, powerful car 240bhp compared to the 140(ish) of the 2lt coupe.
I fully get the love and passion for otherswise unwanted rust boxes, my main hobby is a bit different in that I collect vintage computers but there is something delightful about having that vintage piece of equipment be it a computer or car or whatever and giving it the love it deserves.
I'd love to see you restore the Porsche but throw some period correct mods at it. The S2000 is a car I've always love the shape of and the 9000 rpm redline... can you do something to make that scream out, maybe an induction kit or the likes. Either way I'm sure you'll do it proud, in fact since this video is 4 months old you've probably already done it.
Don't suppose you want to buy a Hyundai Coupe to add to your garage of rust 🤣
Keep up the good work.
The 20VT Coupe is one of the most memorable cars I have owned, absolutely loved it. It did have a voracious appetite for lower suspension arms though.
that is a really really good line up, very diverse and tasteful, even the volvo fits in
I think it would be cool to see a deep-dive of the interior restoration and reupholstery of the 944.
Well done, great content Alex. I'd say a multidays camping trip for you and Rory in Portugal. Close enough for you to take the 944 😁
Love the channel to bits. So many interesting cars.
-the 944, maximise the nostalgia factor. Do whatever it takes to maximise the childhood memories.
-s2000 , agree with oem+
-fiat, basically the same. Looks should be kept the same, definitely keep the blue colour. Just some enhancements to keep it running to the best of its ability.
-x5 and volvo: these are workhorses. Nothing special needed, do what it takes to keep them running and rack up them miles. Just like horses or dogs: some are for show, some are for prancing around. But no, not these. These just want to work and work and work. Thats when they are happiest , keep them doing that.
-bmw and phil: these are your joyboxes. Im not gonna say what to do with them besides telling you that you should do to them what makes you happy. That’s what they are for so do what gives you the biggest smile
Great selection! love it!!!
the 944 is special, always loved em, would love to see more of it!!!!
absolutely love the 944, please show us more of it. same goes for all the other cars as well (duh). But to be honest i wouldn't really change anything about that 944. only thing i can think of would be putting on "hackmesser"-rims (don't know what their called in the english 944 comunity, that's what they're called in german)
Came all the way from Norway to attend the Goodwood revival for the third time, sad thing I did not get to see you or phil. But it was a really good time :)
So good Alex! You keep on keeping us entertained! One request 🙏 more Swedish bread vans. Would love to see a high mileage rapid Volvo. 850 T5 or R or 2003 ish S60 R? Perhaps a V70 R
Love seeing Taylor in the videos. Great addition
Love all of your cars mate! What a dreamtatgarage. Would love to see more of both Barney and Fred! (Flintstones family?)
really lovign all the high milage love as always
gotta admit phill is looking amazing, the hood vents and indicator delete really set it apart from most cars.
Road trip video in a 944 ? Sounds like a dream 🤯, Alex please do that
Great video! Im a bit jealous as well. You have a car for every day of the week and for every occasion!
More of the 944 would be good 👏🏻
Also love that tan leather in your Fiat coupe 👌🏻
Love the 944, I think subtle mods are the way forward. Maybe some nice 80's bbs rims?
A vid talking about how you store, park, cycle through your cars, etc. would be awesome!
As a lad from Sheffield and Hoovie and Tavarish fan living in Florida love the videos !!😊
