  • This video will show you how to use the ReMemorize add on. It is currently the best add-on for rescheduling cards and there are some great tricks we've discovered
    NOTE: This add-on replaces the "reschedule in reviewer" add-on we previously made a video about.

    Say I'm learning cards and I know them pretty well, but they're still pretty young (7-day interval) but I have a test coming up in 6 days. Would utilizing the p-(date) (or p-5) be a useful tool to graduate the card to the 7-day interval and still see the card before my exam? I ran into this issue earlier with my post-test card load being a lot because instead of graduating young cards I rescheduled them with the -(date) feature. I notice if you reschedule the card it doesn't count as doing a review for the day so I thought this would allow me to review it and still see it when I need to

    Thank you for the video!
    I noticed each time I try to use ReMemorize to reschedule a card in the learning phase while still retaining its interval/steps (I believe the correct way to do this is by placing a negative in front of the number of days you wish to reschedule the card , for example "-1") it graduates the card from the learning phase and skips all the steps. I just wanted to make sure if this is what is expected with the add-on and , if not, how I could address this issue.
    Thank you for all you do and any advice on the matter!

    Scenario: I want to study cards normally up until my exam and cram before it. If I use rememorize to pre-schedule my cards before the date (i.e. I review one section 3 days before the exam, another section 2 days before, etc.), will I only see my cards then or will they show up as normal until they are scheduled by rememorize?

    When forgetting a mature card, when is it advisable to hit Again vs. rescheduling the card with ReMemorize later? Do you tend to hit Again if you have no idea how to answer the card and reschedule if you know the concept and are unsure of the specifics?

    • @AnKingMed
      @AnKingMed  Před 4 lety

      Yes to both of those. I usually reschedule if I got the card wrong cause I read it incorrectly or something. If I actually forgot the concept, I always hit again.

    Is there a way to like "shift" the whole deck without rescheduling?
    So when I go to vacation and don't wanna do any Anki cards for a week or so, I can come back the week later and it would be the same exact settings like the day I left (the due date of every card just added 7 days or whatever time I'm not doing Anki, so the cards don't add up when I come back).
    For instance: I have 200 Cards the day I leave, can I use this add on, so I'd have 200 Cards when I come back from my Vacation?
    I know that that is not the way Anki is meant, but I like to do Anki everyday and want to take off one or two weeks for vacation without loosing my progress or having to do 1000+ cards when I get back.

    • @AnKingMed
      @AnKingMed  Před 4 lety

      Unfortunately, there isn't anything that would let you do that. However, you can use the rememorize addon to take the cards from that week and randomly spread them over the weeks before and/or after your break. We made a video on it: czcams.com/video/UXgck-g0nQA/video.html

    Thank you so much for this video. I'm sorry I need some help. What I understand is, for instance if I have an overdue card that has the next interval of 3 months (if i hit good), then if I reschedule it (because I don't want to hit again) by adding negative in front of the interval I want (e.g -7), it will show me the card in 7 days. Once it shows up in 7 days and if I hit good then, it would go back to showing 3 months on the good button. Is that correct?

      The AnKing so I’ve fallen behind on my reviews and followed your advice of making “due today” and “over due” filtered decks to catch up. To test it out I sent one of the overdue cards to -1 yesterday. When that same card turned up today, the hard option showed 2 days and the good showed 3 days whereas previously it was supposed to go to 3 months. Does this mean I’m in big trouble now since I used rememorize on a lot of my cards? It took me way back and I’m afraid I’m going to end up spending way more time on these than I intended. I’m so sure I used the negative! What did I do wrong here?

    • @AnKingMed
      @AnKingMed  Před 4 lety +1

      Hmmm... I’m not sure... if you used -1 it would only change the due date and nothing else. It’s really hard for me to say without looking at your cards individually sorry!

    When the rescheduled card appears, will the same interval exist on the card?
    Use case: I would like to import a couple thousand words that I have already learned into my current Anki deck. My goal is to change the interval of these cards to something like 6 months, where when they appear the "good" interval will say something like 6-12 months.

    • @AnKingMed
      @AnKingMed  Před 2 lety

      You can choose to make the cards keep their original interval or you can modify it yourself. In the new version of Anki (.49), you can right click, "set due date" and if you add an exclamation point (example provided in the "set due date" pop-up), and say 180-360! it'll have all the cards show up between 6 and 12 months and that'll be the new interval.
