Woodturning - Driftwood Salt Cellar with Spoon

  • I found this piece of driftwood in a Homegoods of all places. Mixed it with some Promise Epoxy Table Top Resin and turned it into a lovely salt cellar. The hand-turned wooden spoon is made from walnut.

    Beautiful piece! Part of the me thinks the wood-to-resin ratio is too low. The other part of me thinks the resin on this piece might be the coolest looking of any piece you have done so it was worth keeping the ratio where it was. It turned out beautiful!

    By the time you're done with it, it's 90% resin and only 10% wood. Such a shame.

    You wasted half that piece of wood. Resin way too dark. I don't get why everyone darkens the resin so much. I think it would be much nicer if the resin was more transparent so we could see the wood. I don't know about you but I do this to highlight the wood, not the resin.
