I would 10 times out of 10 rather a tattoo artist tell me they didn’t feel comfortable carrying out my idea than to do it with half effort because it wasn’t what they wanted to do.
Hannah T. I think that goes for a lot of things. Like I wouldn’t trust a hairdresser that says she can make my black hair platinum in one session for $80
Yeap, now I have a crappy tattoo on my arm because of it. It doesn’t even look like the picture my friend drew for me for the outline.
Hells absolute yes... I would hate to be the client who causes an artist to go home and bitch about their day with the 'lame' tattoo idea and the client with a 'complete lack of artistic vision' who bored them silly!!
My old college roommate didn't have enough money for a rib tattoo, so when she left the owner of the shop ran after her, asked her how much money she had, and then said he would do the tattoo for that price (about half the price that the other employee wanted). You get what you pay for, now she is stuck with the stupidest tattoo I've ever seen in my entire life with "waves" that look like a 3-fingered hand 😂
Yeah the asshole who did my first was obviously not happy with it but went ahead anyway and made it terrible. I trusted him because he owned the multi-artist shop so I assumed he wasn't gonna fuck it up. Regret?
Your mouth says no but your wall says yes

I was gonna point that out ! 😂

Ya shes good stuff thats for sure and lots of her content adresses whats actually important subjects thats what i liked watching her content for the first time amd ten i seen shes awesome and a fan was made that day
Yea I agree. I would appreciate my tattoo artist more if they told me this before putting something on my body I may regret.

Also whether you consider him to be the son of God or not, Jesus still definitely existed.
Isidore Aerys she would never, it would be against her bs SJW ideology
She isn't wrong though
@@tillie_brn Actually, that's never been proven. There isn't any solid, concrete evidence that the Jesus of the bible was a historical person
My best friend and I were gonna get matching alien tattoos. We never did and he killed himself at 18, so after his funeral I got it in memory of him.
Whenever I tell people that, they're reaction is oh I'm so sorry, or aw, that's sad. ...Like, no. I'm not sad. He's still my best friend and it's what he would've wanted. He was always suicidal. I wouldn't say I'm glad he's dead, but I feel content knowing he's no longer tormented by his own thoughts. I miss him, but it's not sad for me.
Mak Moncman that was beautiful ❤️
MAK... Was he an atheist like 99% of my generation.?
Debbie Eckert why does that matter weirdo
it is a positive way to see his suicide, Mac. I hope your friend found peace as well, but i still believe it is very sad. The world will never be the same without him...
Debbie Eckert why does that even matter ? Wtf
Some of you totally missed the point of the video and just want to complain. The artist has the right to refuse service for any number of reasons, just like any other business. Commenting why she’s wrong is sooo stupid. She’s not wrong, she’s just not the right artist for your piece.
True, but us complainers might have saved Linda from a scathing yelp fiasco if she decides never again to give her speech to bereaved parents on why dead babies are just so unpleasant to look at. U welcome!
Smooth Operator she NEVER said that. She stated how that kind of tattoo can and will reopen the trauma of losing a child every time someone asks about it. Selective listening 😒🙄
Catie Quimby She actually did say that, a few different ways, some in spectacular fashion.
"I am simply not comfortable doing postmortem portraiture"
Read again. Feel the lack of judgement and the empathy course through your body. Nobody gets triggered, and somebody gets to keep their poorly informed ideas about trauma to themselves. It's a win win. U welcomes!! 😘
Smooth Operator and did you listen to how she explains her statement? I guess not. She and every other artist get to decide what they are comfortable with doing and they aren’t. She’s not comfortable doing postmortem pieces. That’s like going to a cardiologist and requiring them to do brain surgery and getting mad that it’s out of their expertise.
Catie Quimby I'm calling it a day deciding the "listening problem" isn't on my end. Cheers! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
One thing I'll never do: Eye tattoos.
I am not responsible for your eye if something goes wrong. So if your eye gets infected, that's on u

eye tattoos are when people get their eyeballs, tattooed. Did you mean an image of a tattoo? That. I'm fine to do.
@@MorbidMoonflower usually it's the eyelids that are tattooed.

@@MorbidMoonflower it's like a all black out lenses except for the iris (I know what their called I dont know how to spell it) they basically tattoo the white part of your eye. tattoo artists are allowed to decline any sort of work that they feel they won't be good at, really be able to put all their heart and soul into it, or just something they don't like or agree with. They are not obligated to agree to tattoo anything, and for clients to be that entitled to think they are, is just ignorant. This is why you consult with artists before making an appointment, and do your research on what and who will be able to accommodate what you want.
People are so stuck in the “customer is always right” mindset. The artist owes you nothing!
Any proprietor of any business can refuse to do business with a customer, no reason needed, legally speaking. In the UK at least. So if a tattooist doesn't want to do something because it's no fun for them, monetary concerns aside, they don't have to.
Most businesses wouldn't dream of refusing a customer anything, but tattooing is a lot more personal and it needs a certain level of skill to get a good outcome, so if a tattoo artist tells you they're not good at fantasy art then it's best not to push the issue, similarly with Japanese work, don't force someone into something they can't do or have no interest in. It's just common sense, which it turns out is remarkably uncommon these days ;)
this is more or less how i feel and infact a reason i would like to have a conversation with a tattoo artist about the ideas i have for tattoos because most people i know or meet and talk too about tattoos give me the same generic do what you feel is best for you speech and its like i feel like i need honest real opinions from people who know what they are talking about. its just extremely rare for me to actually meet a tattoo artist and have a conversation with them.
Well technically speaking no private professional is obliged to offer you business. You can enter at a shop and an owner can tell you they refuse to serve you because they don't like you. It's their right
However most people don't do it because they want as many clients as they can get. As she says in the video once she built her clientele she has the lineacy so to speak to refuse certain requests.
Most professionals do not refuse service when they need clients and they need their clients to bring more work for them.
If you are like fully booked 9 times out of 10 and you make enough money to sustain yourself comfortably you are able to refuse service to some potential clients.
Of course no one owes anyone anything but is up to you to choose not to offer your services somewhere and then take the consequence of that.
The more steady clientele you have the easier it gets to do that
For Anyone who gets mad that she won’t tattoo certain things remember
1. She is the one delivering YOU service , therefore there are things she provides and things she doesn’t! It’s her choice!
2. If you want it done that badly then just go to someone who will do it, don’t get mad at her just cuz it’s not what she does 💀
3. If you are getting a tattoo which is on you FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE wouldn’t you want the artist to put their all into it? I can tell you as an artist (not tattoo tho :0) when you’re drawing something your not in to, no matter how much effort you put in to it, you won’t have that energy that creates a good piece!
🙏
Adding to that, the comment she reads aloud from the guy comparing it to ordering food from the menu is just flawed logically. He says it's like ordering from the menu and the chef says no, but the real comparison would be going to a specialized restaurant and ordering something that's NOT on the menu. Here is an artist who has a pretty good idea of her strengths, weaknesses preferences and boundaries and this is what determines her "menu". Demanding she makes you a piece no matter what because "it's your money" would be more comparable to demanding a highly skilled Italian chef to make vietnamese food for you, just because that's what YOU want.
"why i say no to specific tattoos"
*giant glowing YES in the back*
Hahahah!!
Haha I said that in a dif video of hers haha I love the sign lol

I get it. I have a weird sort of symbolic tattoo? To look at it, you think I'm just a nerd. But as a teen my father had an awful stroke that changed everything. He's not dead.. but he no longer lives a good quality of life. So the 6 months he was in the hospital, I stayed with my best friend. Every single time I got upset, every time I started to have anxiety and panic attacks, we played Ocarina of Time. So one of the best decisions I made about two years ago was to get a tattoo. It's a triforce with a bar of music over it with Zelda's lullaby. Because it's symbolic of a time where my life was turmoil and awful, but I had that one thing. And not only is Zelda's lullaby my favorite, but it's.. if you've played the game, and you get to a point you don't know what to do.. you can usually pull out your ocarina and play the lullaby and something happens. So now when I'm panicking and anxious I just run my fingers over my tattoo and it gives me a reminder.
That is so nice! ❤️
I’m not crying, you are
Awww I plan on getting nocturne of shadow tattooed on myself
I have a triforce symbolic tattoo as well! I understand what you mean! Stay strong ehh💞
i have two zelda tattoos as well! the crest , and majoras mask. absolutely love both !

I actually love that she talked the woman out of the bird and cage tattoo. I was going to get one after getting out of an abusive marriage to celebrate my freedom and I am so glad I decided not to put that on me permanently.
I gotta respectfully disagree with her. I believe in turning shit into sugar. So having something a little or even a lot negative on your body forever as a reminder of something shitty you overcame is perfectly fine in my book and unlike her other refusals, feels downright disrespectful to presume she knows better. She asked for a birds and a cage. Give it to her!
@@theriffwriter2194 idk bout that 1...... she convince her to get it a bit different..... but if the client insisted on keeping the cage then that would been something else... some ppl rly know what they want, some dont think it trough fully... the call was still on the client to make... so can let slide that 1.... the part bout the youtube comment though..... I have 3 dead babys and tattoos of them-from my first two childs the footprints and from my third a star because I do not have anything from it :(
Everyone has their own opinion, but I thought instead of the bird in cage and did one on the beach that tattoo was breathtaking! It looked so amazing! So I'll have to agree. At least she came up with suggestions With the same message, but pictured or worded differently. It's not like she said nope not doing that and showed them the door.
People are shaming her for doing anything at the beginning, but refusing things now. But now that she has money or whatever, she can afford to refuse things that she’s not comfy with. What’s so wrong with that?
Everthing
Nothing 😊 Its a privilège for really greats artists with expériences and lot of talents. Its like IT work on nail shop and any artist shops 🙌
Rambo Bambi wrong. There’s nothing wrong with it because nothing is worse than getting a tattoo from someone who doesn’t enjoy the design. You end up with a shitty tattoo 9 times out of 10.
I don’t get that either. In my own career, the more skills I get and the better-known my work is, the more choosy I can be with what jobs I take. She also should have that freedom!
It’s hypocritical... that’s what’s wrong with it.
I came here thinking it was going to be a self-entitled rant but I was wrong. Electric Linda is wise. I really like what you’ve said about everything and especially how you’ve put it. Nice!
Thank you 😘
My cousin took SO MANY photos and got tattoos of their stillborn baby, and you are right it was disturbing for us. They sent us all professional framed portraits of the stillborn for Christmas and no one put them out. I think a symbolic tattoo is better. Images of dead babies make most people uncomfortable.
They sent framed portraits of the deceased child?! OMG... I don't know how I would feel getting that. My grandmother always took pictures at funerals, and she handed me a polaroid of my cousin, (with whom I was very close) after he died. I didn't know how to handle that. I couldn't bring myself to throw the picture of him in his casket into the trash, but at the same time it traumatizes me all over again every time I accidentally run across it. I have it hidden away so I hopefully won't have to look at it again.
The last time I was on TikTok I came across a woman posting videos with her stillborn baby. Poor thing, she was as devastated and heartbroken as you would expect. But it was so disturbing. One featured her with the "clownface" filter holding the infant and the caption like "Me after waiting 8 months to meet you and then you come into the world without a heartbeat." Sick, sad stuff. I left her a comment expressing my condolences and then deleted the app.
@@trusound170 Yeah they had clothes ready and a photographer there to take newborn photos. I dont remember if they knew it was going to be a stillborn ahead of time, but they sure did take a lot of photos in the hospital with the baby in different outfits and positions. We kept the photos, but like you hid them away. We aren't trying to forget the sweet baby, but we dont need a visual reminder that almost seems to violate the unborn child's privacy.
@@MrJeffcoley1 That is disturbing. I guess we all handle our grief differently, but Still.

I think it's super cool that you have boundaries like this. Unfortunate that you had to repeat so many times that this is just your own experience. People are so touchy about being told no.

I have a stolen tattoo on me. When I got my first tattoo I said I wanted like a new style ish shark on my arm. The artist said "I'll draw something up and then you can come back in x hours and we can start". I really loved the design and thought it was super cool. Low and behold a friend of mine sent me a picture on facebook after I had posted my new tatto of the exact same tattoo. HE STRAIGHT UP STOLE SOMEONE ELSES DESIGN.
In the new year however I am getting it changed / altered after having it on me for 5 years. I am really excited as it was really rude of him to directly trace someone elses tattoo and then getting paid for theft.
Wow I hope you called him out! That’s beyond wrong. I got a message on Instagram from someone who lives nowhere near me/anywhere I’ve ever been, and he asked if I worked at a certain bar. I said no, I don’t live in that state or work at a bar. He said the girl working there had the exact same tattoo of a drawing I did, in the exact same place. I have about 10k followers on Instagram and I still don’t know if the artist copied me or the girl with the tattoo copied me but regardless it makes me so upset because the tattoo is very personal to me and drawn by me. :/
I had a friend go on holiday to Bali once, he went to get a tattoo and pretty much the same thing happened. He got the tattoo and came home, went around showing his friends and telling them the tattoo artist had designed it just for him... well I love drawing, and I love drawing tribal style designs I see online just as a hobby in my drawing pad. He showed me his tribal style dragon tattoo, told me the story about how the artist “designed” for him... I opened up my drawing pad and showed him the exact same design I had drawn and copied about 6 months earlier just off of a photo on google. He wasn’t very pleased he had been lied too and now has one of the most common tribal style dragon tattoos that I’ve seen multiple times on other people’s skin and multiple websites online 😅
Most tattoo artists use other artists designs, its completely common. But to claim they created the piece is ridiculous & unnecessary.
@@kirstiemcfeatters4348 It should really not be common to steal other artists designs. It is quite disrespectfull and unprofessional in my opinion. All tattoo artists should be able to create their own designs. It made me feel like utter shit knowing I was walking around with someone elses tattoo design on my arm. I'm glad I am getting it altered and made more into my own in the year comming up however.
I would have called him out if I remembered his name, but as far as I know he didn't even have social media. Perhaps for the best as he would have not been very popular since I suppose he's been stealing a lot of designs.
That is honestly so upsetting. My first tattoo was for my dad, it's a big deer and fish on my shoulder blade with my daddys name and ya know the year the passed.
When it was done the artist promised to never tattoo it again, but would feature it in the shop. I still walk in there look up at my dads tattoo and i want to cry my eyes out. It says right under the art.
- don't ask, won't do-
It makes me so proud i guess is the word. Hopefully I'm able to go this year and get another tattoo for my dad and have it featured too 😊
Oh my goodness I was thinking about getting a bird leaving its cage but only today decided that I don't want any negativity so no cage!! I love you!!

I'm sorry this made me laugh 😂
Imagine having that child removed from your life again because of it not looking right on your body

@@mmavey14 Imagine if you get depressed by it and decide to remove it by laser and because you already are too sentimental to even want it in the first place think you kinda removed your baby. I mean it's a newborn, didn't live a day why be sad about it?
@@LifeInPink999 Why be sad about it? Because that child was still born. Because when it died, that future you thought you would have with that child died. Losing a child is horrible whether that child lived for two hours, two years or twenty years.
It's also important to remember that if you go to an artist, and they refuse what you want done, there's probably plenty of other artists who will do it! So she's not entitled or wrong or bossy, she's just not the right artist for people who want something that she refuses to do!

I actually have a bird cage with 2 birds leaving (me and my daughter) celebrating the end of an abusive relationship. I'm super proud of it, and have gotten many compliments on it. I would have been so devastated if the artist had told me no and tried to redirect my idea. After being controlled and told what to do for so long I probably would have lost my shit. I don't think about it the way you do at all, I think about it as a reminder to never let someone put me in a cage again.
I was thinking the same thing
so respect someone else's choices?
Shiloh Burton it makes me so happy that you and your daughter are safe and free now ❤️ I totally agree and see your point of view. I also get her point, I guess it’s really all a matter of perspective, that’s why not all artists are for all clients. Diversity is beautiful and your tattoo is super powerful and empowering to you and that’s all that matters.
I do understand your motive and your reason to get it, but I think, if I had to live through a very bad situation, I think I would not like to be reminded of it, every time I look into the mirror.
That is something I never really understood... But I have not experienced such an awful situation, yet, so maybe that's why.
Not a criticism, please don't be upset
Z F because it doesn't remind you of the bad relationship. It reminds you about leaving that bad time, about how you are happier now and that you finally were able to live your life
This girls voice, eyes, skin, hair... Omg I followed on eye beauty alone
You NAILED it with the bird story! That was a phenomenal result.
I had an apprentice turn down my simple tribute piece because it was too easy for her. It was just a heart with an arrow and two letters inside. I have quite a few tattoos but this would've been my first, super meaningful tattoo. After dealing with her negativity and her telling me that I should "grow up" and invest my time and money into better tattoos, I am scared to reach out to another artist for this piece. I still want the tattoo, but I also don't want the tattoo to remind me of such a horrible interaction. I completely understand when an Artist turns down a piece, but when it's done with such a bad attitude it kinda sucks.
i would have dragged her on Yelp.
Wow, that's absolutely ridiculous. A good tattoo artist would have suggested reworking the design into something that was still meaningful for you, but perhaps more artistic.
Hi I recently went thru similar...guy looked at my more visible work and notices how big and detailed they are so I guess he wanted more money for him setting up the station etc for my infinity symbol with me and my other half dob and the word Twin. I'm going tmrw actually to his master who said yea it won't take long lol...(its crazy how they both did my half sleeve but one turned out to be not so flexible personality). I might be wrong but maybe that artist was more so money hungry and knew that piece wouldn't cost as much as larger detailed stuff. This will be my smallest too but my most meaningful one.
Hope you keep shopping Nd there's so much talent out there just throw them your idea and see who you build a repor with
I've wanted to get the treble cleff and base cleft that come together to make a heart for 9 years. For various reasons it has alot of sentimental value for me. I asked a few artist how much it would cost and both of them where just kinda assholes because it's a basic tattoo.
Yes. Im aware. I don't care. Don't be a dick.
@@funfungirlSavvy If you like it I love it!!! Maybe aim for artists who are hourly vs charge by the piece
Idk why this was in my recommended, but I’m glad it was. More tattoo artists need to take care and have better awareness like you do, ESPECIALLY with negative/hateful tattoo words/symbols on your skin. You earned a new sub, your tattoos are gorgeous.

sorry for your loss
Cool
Thats a really nice idea
I have lost 7 babies, I would never get a whole portrait of a lost child. A footprint or hand print of course,
Which all the respect why do you want even a part of a dead baby on you? Seems like something that will make you feel depressed every time you look at it and creep out people who look at it.
Wow, stay strong 😢
"Do you want to celebrate the cage? Do you want to bring it with you?"
Damn. Between that and the dead baby picture commentary, you could seriously do counseling!
She makes great points, but all of that is subjective. Not everyone looks at it from the same perspective. While one would say it’s “celebrating the cage” others would say it’s “a reminder of the strength it took to get out & how/who never to be again”. Every artist isn’t for everyone, but I would much rather an artist say they’re not comfortable doing a piece & I say thank you & find another than to have someone redirect my vision and turn it into something it was never meant to be bcuz of how THEY feel or see it ya know?
You are correct.
For many getting a meaningful tattoo is therapy
I dont ever tell my artists what my tattoos are supposed to represent. At the end of the day that's not really their business as long as the tattoo design is good. Most artists dont want to know what the tattoo is supposed to represent
I do have 1 tatoo. I can get it to what she is saying, afterall she is an artist and wants to feel the connection with what she is creating to be at her best and giving the spirits with her art.
So talk, and talk, it is important to you and the artist, if one is feeling uncomfortable with it than its not a match, move on and find your match.
Art IS subjective so any artist has a right to be entittled to their creation, it is you who is carrying that art and the spirit of that art.
i know someone who had a stillborn child and they got a tattoo of the footprints which i think is a lovely way to remember the love for the child.
That’s way better than a picture of a dead fetus don’t you think?
This is really common or their handprints as well. It’s pretty sweet.
A friend of mine lost her son about a week after he was born. Her husband has the family tattooed as owls on a branch and the son they lost as an owl flying above them. It’s really beautiful.

Pink is more of a rockstar, but yeah she kind of does.
your voice sounds so relaxing
Guus Missler
That’s good 😂 she can relax a customer who’s in hella pain 😂
For real
Just fell asleep
She should do an ASMR!

As a memorial for my still born son I had his name ..foot prints and angel wings ..
I agree a photo would be too much
So sorry. You will cherish that tattoo forever.
I’m so sorry for your loss
But yeah I’d sob every time I saw a portrait of my dead child or something
I know I'm commenting several months later, but I finally got a tattoo for my daughter who was still born. I got the pink and blue ribbon for child loss awareness with angel wings. It's so beautiful. I would really like to get a clock with the time she was born on my forearm, and her birth date under it, and sunflowers around the rest of my arm.
Much love to you ❤ I know it's hard to go through this
I LOVE real foot prints ... baby or adult. The ridges of foot prints are incredible like fingerprints.
An artist of a HIGHER caliber can do this one with confidence 💗
Agree, I had butterflies in memory of my baby who passed from SIDS
For the curious on what's written at 8:05
It says: "Ne laisse jamais les ombres d'hier obscurcir la lumière de demain" Wich is french for "Never let the shadows of yesterday darken the lights of tomorrow".
8:58 oh my god. That is godly. I could stare at that for hours. I want it framed on my wall. How could you not love this?
I wholeheartedly agree.
Holy shit that tattoo at 8:58 looks like you took an actual photo and photoshopped it on his back. That’s incredible. Your work is absolutely stunning.
At least she's honest. There are many others out there who would do a half-assed tattoo they hated rather than risk turning someone down. It's good to see that there still are those who take pride in their work (and rightfully so. Her work is stunning)
I love that at the very end, she simply asks: "if you made it to the end, why not subscribe?" It's just such a succinct and chill way to ask people to sub!!
I love how you explained negative reactions. That makes perfect sense to look forward into the future.
I’m not a tattoo artist, I don’t have tattoo or even want one but I really enjoyed this video :))
Thank you 😘
Haha same
heccin hecc vvv
pengoo! pengoo!
Same, youtube sugested it and I'm glad it did.
I had a daughter pass away after 32 mins... Therefore the only photo I have of her is one that I don't share... I wanted her to be memorialized on my body so I had the footprints the hospital did of her feet tattooed on my body. I got a little annoyed at the technician though because he asked if I wanted him to make them bigger... No. This is basically a portrait tattoo, but you have the actual size in front of you why would I want you to change it? I want them to be the exact same size as they are on the card.... Thankfully he did an amazing job and it's a nice image to carry with me.
Rikki, I’m so sorry for your loss. I think the memorial tattoo you chose is perfect. Just like Linda alluded to, it is something that will never seem morbid or maudlin, even to others that you choose to share it with. It is just a loving memory that is sad, yes, but that I hope over time will come to primarily symbolize the joy you felt at having her in the world for those 32 precious minutes.
I don’t know how long ago you lost your daughter, but I hope that you and your family have found some measure of peace, and can abide in love. Take care, momma (because it doesn’t matter if you haven’t had additional children - you are and always will be a momma!). ❤️
♥️
@@HalfShelli thank you so much. This was beautiful. ♥️
Sorry I accidentally disliked, I added my like I wanted but just wanted to tell u cause yeah :3 💜
My boyfriend recently got me a tattoo as a Christmas present. He knew I wanted the symbol of anarchy on my shoulder so he talked to his favorite tattoo artist and they agreed on a price about $115. When I got to the salon he started designing it and we both agreed on adding a molotov cocktail in the middle of the anarchy. I was so excited because it turned out amazing, both me and the artist were proud of the work. When we left, my boyfriend told me in the car that the artist did not let him pay more than $23 for what was a at least $100 tattoo. I think he really enjoyed what he created and also saw my enthusiasm towards his work that he lowerd the price that much. It is my first tattoo ever that I absolutely love and I will definetly get many more. Thanks, man :D
🙄
When I got my tattoo, I wanted something specific and had the image in my mind, BUT I discussed with my artist to know what is possible, what would look good and what wouldn't come out as I expected. He gave me advice which I followed and gave him the green light. He did amazing work.
As someone who doesn't have tattoos, but plans on getting some in the future, you've helped me realize theres a lot more things to consider when finding the right artist. Thanks for this!
Make sure to not ask too many questions tho. The artist might be really upset you want to know what goes into your tattoo on your body. def dont tell them you want a bird coming out of a cage. Jesus dont tell them that. Sorry for the sarcasm but actually most good artists want to hear your questions. That way they know your committed. Questions are a good thing
Could you do a tattoo studio tour?
Yes I will :) Thanks!
It's your art. Thank you for not caving on issues of blatant racism and such. 🥰 Many artist wouldn't give a fuck.
I love the way you explained the baby photo thing. That was so genuine and sweet, I really admire your approach to that
her tattoos from old renaissance paintings are so beautiful skskksks im inspired
Also that guy doesn’t make sense with the restaurant thing. You go to a certain type of restaurant to get a certain type of food. You can’t go to a burger place and ask for sushi. Just like you can’t go to a realistic artist for something that they don’t do. So you go to an artist for something they offer. You can’t expect someone to create something that they don’t do.
You're absolutely right, you don't speak for any other tattoo artist, stay humble and I hope you never have to go back to that time where you're forced to do everything you're mentioning in this video
That bird tattoo is phenomenal
You're about to get so many views. You've been chosen by the recommended. Congrats
Thumbnail titties probably helped
Recommended is based off your own viewing preferences. You are talking about trending.
@Melly Reed @Daniel N Yet this video has hundreds of thousands more views than her other recent video. The recommended section is essentially a smaller slightly more personalized trending now
Thank u that's the point I'm trying to make
Yep it was on my main page and I am not subbed to her and don't watch Tat videos, or anything related to this. YT is pushing her Vida, hard obviously. I enjoyed the vid tho, and am now a sub.
can you be my mom, like actually
She low key seems like she would be a great mom doesn't she?
Your reasoning is so eloquent. I love love love how you bring out the beautiful parts of negative ideas. So creative!
Such amazing work !! 💓
As someone who has had a stillbirth, my husband and I kept our photos of our son between our immediate family (siblings, parents and us) although we do have his name, birthday and footprints on our bodies. Everything else is kept between us. Not because we are ashamed of our child but because he os special to us.
Your realism styled tattoos are absolutely gorgeous o.o
I'm also a Linda! 😉 I'm in the US, I'm a whole bunch of Swedish, but through DNA, found out that I'm also quite a bit Norwegian. I'm so happy and proud to have learned that.
The more videos I watch of yours, the more I like you. I have found a great artist that I love, but it would be my dream to have you tattoo something special on me.
i dont think ill ever get a tattoo but i LOVE watching videos about it and admiring the artists and their work. And ur perspective about letting go of the past and staying positive is so amazing :) love ur light
I have to tell you that when 8:56 popped up I literally gasped and went "oh wow" out loud. It is 1 am and I was so in awe of your talent that I literally spoke out loud? Amazing job and amazing video!
Thank you so much!
Electric Linda you're welcome! Hope you're doing well!
I literally said "Holy sh*t!" And had to rewind/pause the video!
Basically you're asking for the same rights any other artist expects. It's sad that you have people saying you're incorrect. Most artists have specialties that they're good at, and deny commissions for things they don't care about/aren't specialized in. For anyone who is angry someone can't get what they want from you, there are others who will specialize (or not) in that thing, and give them what they want. Your tattoos are brilliant btw!
So thoughtful and thought provoking
Thanks!
I like how you find so creative alternatives for your no-go-tattoos!! :)
I love how considerate and genuine you are! You have such a lovely personality 😊
Off topic but I’m in love with your voice wow
Mar G the next Siri
That's why I started following her lol. Her voice is relaxing !
Not only do you have excellent insight into what tattooing is about, but you also have an excellent understanding of human nature and the psychology of grief and moving forward in life. 💜
I feel like I just had a therapy session. Thank you Electric Linda 😊
It warms my heart to see someone like you that has such a strong sense of integrity. Not all money is good money, and while you could just take any buck that comes your way, you actually care about the well being of your clients.
I have no clue why this is in my recommended videos as I don't watch tattoo videos... but hey, still interesting!
Randompersonnumber3 I’m in the same boat 😂 I’ve enjoyed the video!
Same here! Lol. But I'm on the third video lol.
Yes, me too.. I did enjoy this video
Great advice! Love your channel.
So well put!!
Your English is American accent heavy...I have to say I had to listen really hard to even hear your Norwegian twang. You speak beautifully! Could a fooled me if I weren't paying attention.
This video was super helpful! Not tattooing the birdcage resonates with me. If you’re free from the past what’s the point of showing something that used to bind you? The bird already symbolizes freedom. I love that :)
Ché Lives j
She basically talked someone out of something that was probably cheaper
@@renialatrice She specializes in large, photo-realistic tattoos. If she had tattooed a bird and a cage, they probably would have been a large, realistic bird and cage. So it was going to be expensive either way.
You do amazing work!! Love ur art
Great advice! LOVE your professionalism & your whole vibe.
Thank you ❤️
Linda: No fantasy creatures!
Also Linda: Well Jesus is ok
Damn that made me laugh so hard x,D
Awaria Zycie jesus was an actual human being tho... regardless of whether you believe in god or not
Look up what jesus really looked like. You would be scared shitless !!!!! Its some scary monkey like dude.
She said any pictures or paintings tho as long as they were amazing
I don’t know why you were recommended to me as I’m not someone who’s interested in tattoos but wow this video was so respectful and informative :) you’ve got a new subscriber 💛
Wow! Thank you 😘
Nina Anwamane But how white is she though?
Take a shot every time she says "for the rest of your life"..
Just take out life insurance first
I looooove the way you explained and gave thoughtful, tasteful, inspirational advice to the clients. Need more of you out here
As a tattoo customer, I love this honesty. If you want a specific type of tattoo, it is your duty as a customer to research the best artist for that style that you have access to. The example at the end about "if I go to a restaurant and order food, I want what I ordrerd," is silly. You can't go to a sushi restaurant and demand pasta carbonara. Why would you expect a photo realist to do bio-mech?
13:49 I respect you so much for not tattooing something that you don't fully understand the meaning behind. I know I am probably over burning this, but sometimes it is just the best to appreciate the art instead of appropriating them. Thank you so much for spreading the message. I deeply appreciates it. (This doesn't only applies to Japanese tattoos, but all cultures)
Awesome video and thank you for sharing ❤👍
This is super insightful. Love it.
“this is why i say *_no_* to some requests”

For me, I have a very meaningful tattoo. An eating disorder recovery symbol... Was such a battle that damn near killed me. But I got this on my ribs, so I can have this with me as a reminder of my journey... But not have to explain this to people in public.
what is it tho??
Amen, its your life, and you dont have to explain yourself to strangers. Your not being mean ,its just not their business. Simple as that.
i didn’t mean to be rude... sorry if it came off that way
i was just wondering
If it’s the little heart body one half the people in inpatient have it and it’s kinda a cute inside thing that most people who have/have had an ed will recognise and sympathise with you
I’ve struggled for so long I want one so bad
Super lovely to see a skilled professional in any field talk about her strengths and weaknesses within her art. Very informative!
I can’t imagine getting a tattoo of my stillborn baby !!
I got a memorial tattoo of a fallen friend and it gave me mad angry anxiety I had to get it removed so I’m with her on this one....
Your Norwegian accent made this video so much nicer to listen to!
I really admire anyone who puts morals before money, I've met a lot of tattoo artists who don't care about the implications of the tattoo, just about getting paid.
I hope you actually tell grieving parents that you are simply uncomfortable tattooing post mortem portraits and leave it at that.
Yeah.. I think most grieving parents would straight up hit her if she told them that their child wasn't pleasant to look at
i think its importand to let them know why and im certain with the right word choice telling them a diffrent kind of memorial tattoo it can go over smooth
@@user-zr4sj2ll5q It's not that the child isn't pleasant to look at, it's that most people don't want to see photos of a corpse. That's pretty standard.
After awhile, even with a child, your grief changes. How sad to have a tattoo you really can't change to express how its changed....does that make sense?? You could do dates of all the kids-but if they were too young, or not born yet that could get rough.....Sometimes a different memorial is better. 😢 just as meaningful though!!!
I think she’s basically saying, do you want to people to feel sorry for you the rest of your life? Do you want to explain your dead baby to strangers forever? Just bringing up a trauma in an unpleasant way constantly? A picture elicits an “I’m so sorry” response, a poem or symbol elicits a “that’s a sweet, nice way to remember”
100% great advice!
Thank you for this video. This is going to help me in the near future
