    Hello, I had small scars and I had a fractional co2 laser, and it caused me burns and ugly pigmentation on my face. They were dark brown in color. I have wheat skin. I was treated for 4 months with creams. When I stopped using them, the pigmentation came back again. Currently, I have had 4 PicoSure Pro sessions, but the pigmentation has not gone away, it has only diminished. What should I do? Should it continue? In the sessions, am I in the right direction, as in my case? I have the treatment plan and things to help with PicoSure Pro, such as injections or creams. And if you do not have an account, I will send you pictures of the condition just to guide me. I have lost confidence in the doctors in my country, and I would be very grateful to you for helping me and resolving this psychological complex. Which I have

      @nursekelly  Před 3 lety +1

      Yes, the redness should resolve in few days. Some people can experience redness and swelling for a bit longer, sometimes can be up to 1-2 weeks, depending on your skin concern, location of concern and intensity of your treatment. Sometimes a different treatment protocol/parameters can be used and scabbing can occur on treated spots, but generally still recovers within the 1-2 week mark. If anything feels unusual, please contact your provider and follow any post treatment instructions given to allow best recovery and prevent any complications. Take care ☺️

      @@user-ni6ho9yw6i Hi there, you can see the post-care instructions in this video @ 2:40
      Some doctors can prescribe hydroquinone(HQ) after the treatment, and your provider usually will tell you when to apply it (normally used at night. Sometimes may need to wait a few days post-treatment, sometimes the prescription may have HQ, vitamin C etc) and your provider will let you know how long you need to be on HQ for.
      Usually, you can use HQ for a certain period of time (for example between 3-6 months, the timeframe will vary depending on your doctor), and then you will have to take a break since you cannot use HQ continuously long-term.

      Hi Jannifer, PicoSure is a very popular treatment. I believe you can find a provider using link below:
      www.cynosure.com/for-patients/find-a-provider/
      Cost can vary depending on the size of the surface area to be treated and the location of the clinic/provider. Sometimes some provider may charge more if using the “focus” tips. Which is a consumable cost.
      Most clinics do offer package deals which may give you better pricing options.

      Hey Tasheela, in this video I have only used 755nm focus tip. I have tried 532nm in the past on stubborn spots. However I find an IPL works better on darker freckles and less downtime/PIH on my skin. Thats why I first started off with an IPL, then use PicoSure 755nm to continue fading the lightened spots and rejuvenate my overall skin.

    • @nursekelly
      @nursekelly  Před rokem

      Darkening can happen after pico laser and scabbing does not always happen. In most cases, the darkened spots will fade with time, generally over the next couple of weeks. You may have already booked your next session with your provider, the treated spots will likely lighten by then.
      Only in very rare cases (for example, when you did not follow proper post-care instructions given by your provider, inadequate sun protection, or incorrect treatment parameters can result in unwanted complications).
      I highly recommend you communicate with your provider when in doubt, follow proper post-care guidelines given, and be patient because results will take time to show. Multiple treatments will be needed in most cases to achieve optimal outcomes. Wish you all the best in your beauty journey

      @nursekelly  Před 2 lety

      Hi AR, PicoSure laser works well with certain pigments. Especially with pigmentations caused by sun damage and by aging, it also works well for tattoo ink removal.
      Generally, final results will take at least 1 month to show and for your skin to fully recover, provided that you follow proper post care treatment guidelines.
      For acne scars or PIH (Post Inflammatory hyperpigmentation) marks, you can try laser resurfacing. Some people also receive amazing results from chemical peels in combination with light therapy.
      If you have active acne/breakouts, you will need to take care of that first and have them under control. Any facial deep cleaning treatments, chemical peels, light therapy etc maybe needed prior to any heat/laser treatments for optimal results.
      Please follow up with your provider with your case after the set wait time given to you.

      @@angeminc It is always great to research and understand more about treatments. This way you can better follow post-treatment guidelines too. A proper examination will be done by your provider and he/she will recommend treatments accordingly. Please keep in mind that melasma is one of the hardest pigments to treat and it fluctuates with our body's internal state and hormones. Patience is key, and multiple treatments and a combination of different methods will possibly be needed to slowly fade your melasma. Some cases of melasma may not receive complete clearance even with treatments and even with great clearance after some treatments, melasma can reoccur if exposed to triggers again ( for example stress/hormonal changes, other underlying medical conditions, certain medications, unprotected sun/UV exposure etc).

      @nursekelly  Před 2 lety

      The darker the skin, the more conservative it will be in terms of parameters, especially initial treatment. And we can slowly increase intensity for subsequent treatments if deem necessary. I have tried various parameters and hand-pieces on myself by now. Most cases each time can be slightly different or sometimes we can stay the same parameters depending on the treatment outcome and the client reaction each time. The goal is to help the client achieve their best results :)

    • @nursekelly
      @nursekelly  Před 3 měsíci

      Those treatments are generally safe to mix and/or alternate as long as you are a suitable candidate and you wait the appropriate amount of time between treatments to allow proper healing and recovery.
      More commonly people use IPL first to clear up most of the darker pigmented spots (more cost friendly) and then use pico to clean up the rest that IPL cannot target (since pico is generally more expensive than IPL, some simple cases might already seen great results after IPLs alone).
      However, if your provider advise other treatment plans, please follow the guidance from your medical provider.

    • @nursekelly
      @nursekelly  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi Adri, some practitioner may use PicoSure to treat melasma. However, melasma is a very stubborn condition and may require a combination of different treatments and some home care products to slowly fade the pigments. Pico may not be the first choice of treatment when it comes to melasma, it works wonderfully on other type of pigments like sun spots/freckles/age spots/tattoos etc. For melasma, most clinical research recommended using Q-switched Nd:YAG laser (1064nm is mostly used). Sometimes fractional laser resurfacing may be used depending on the case. We must be cautious when it comes to treating melasma because the wrong treatment or wrong parameters can potentially darken and make the pigments worse. Please consult with your provider for the best treatment options for your individual case. I hope this is helpful. Take care.

      With each session, Picosure can fade pigments, and results are accumulative, meaning multiple treatments may be needed to achieve desirable results.
      Whether you do treatment or not, sun exposure can darken existing pigments and trigger new pigments. So, sun protection is very very important if you are prone to pigmentation issues. With that being said, you can always develop new pigments and if you do not protect your skin from triggers (for example sun exposure) existing pigments can become darker again.
      If your case is melasma, then it is more complicated than that, there are many factors that can exacerbate the condition.
