Great stuff. I've done this a few times on old rounds or bars. Never used NaCl (sodium chloride) though. Toning can look nice but depends on the piece.
I’m in complete agreement! Toning is subjective and only works for certain pieces and toning patterns, for me this wasn’t worth it so I thought I’d play!
@@StackerNoobUK and did you know that the sulphur in the atmosphere that tarnishes silver is mainly a remnant of the industrial revolution? (So I read). Before then it would have remained shiny for a long time.
Extra virgin olive oil and baking soda works best,,,, dip the silver in the extra virgin olive oil then dunk it in baking soda and rub gently repeat if necessary 👍
Hiya man, I commented on one of your videos about a year back. I'm planning a trip and considering selling my stack. I'm through Edinburgh way. It's mainly 1oz/2oz proof coins but there's a couple interesting hand poured 1oz bars, a 100g German bar and a 250g Certificated PAMP bar. Let me know if you are interested I thought I'd give you the opportunity before I hit Gumtree. 🙂👍 Its approximately 1 kilo total weight I'd need to check.
Hey dude! Appreciate the first dibs offer but I’m not in Edinburgh for a while I’m afraid :-( If there is any standard bullion coins in there I might be interested though! Cheers
Very informative thanks
While everyone's talking philosophy of silver, this video is refreshing!
Appreciated man! I try to do a range of different videos not just “look what I bought you should buy it too” type stuff
Very informative and educational video! A+
Haha very kind of you sir! Hope you are well!
I might be getting a Royal bank bar with toning and heavy finger prints... I might try this not sure yet Happy Stackin eh!
Super helpful! Thank you!
Great video!
Geat results , Looks good nice bar the engelhard
That was cool to watch. Good job done 😁
Thanks my man! I’m pleased!
always rinse your silver in distilled water after your soak. Tap water has too many impurities.

I was unaware of this! Cheers fella! #themoreyouknow
definitely the stained spots.
Glad it was noticeable!

Fremnn. All good, but you need to hold or touching the silver while its in that bath ;) works 10x faster
I didn’t know that, I’ll try that next time!

Why did you clean it, it's just bullion let it tone.
Simply not a fan of the way this was going. I don’t mind toning per se just this form didn’t work for me. Now Orr has a new chance to tone properly!
I keep my metals in a safe dep box, but I’d like to keep one in my home office as a paperweight.😊 shiny looks awesome.
@@StackerNoobUK what do u mean this "form" doesn't work for u?
@@garychant1392 As in just dirty black spots. If it was a more generalised toning pattern I'd have left it.
@@StackerNoobUK got you man and agree
Baking soda + boiling water over aluminum foil would have done way better, near perfect.
