- This one has taken me nearly 10 hours to put together for you, so I hope you enjoy it. I thought i would diversify my content for a change and share some info on silver hallmarks.
My apologies for it being a long one, but I did edit out as much as i could.

I love British silver! I just recently got a cup made in Sheffield but assayed in London. It has a Charles hallmark on it! 😦

Thanks my friend. You know I don't really like making long videos, and this one was pretty time consuming to do. The sovereign holders are pretty scarce, but not as scarce as the gold ones.

I was talking about silver to one of my clients recently and he showed me a stunning signed bust of sir Winston Churchill in silver. must had been well over 10oz.

Once again you've trapped my attention. I love sterling/silver artifacts even more so than bullion coins. 🙂So many, likely millions of stamps/hallmarks it's very hard to find out the meaning of a lot of stamps. I've learned a large number of marks but still so many to keep track of. I really liked the spoon set, among the other amazing pieces. I've been thinking about making a video like this but never really did. Nice job!! 😃
There was so much else I really wanted to cover, like the cartouche shapes and date marks, but the video was already way longer than I usually post.
@@CyberCurtainTwitcher Some of these pieces are really amazing, I'd imagine you paid a heavy premium on some? 🧐😳(Nothing wrong with making repeat or similar videos to draw more attention to your style of videos to the viewers on youtube.)
@@MUDSWAT I think the largest premium i paid was on the early tongs. Many of the other pieces i have bought and sold to collectors have more than paid for the pieces in this video. A small silver money clip that weighed less than an ounce, I paid £10 for and sold it for £45. It was modern but by a silversmith whose items are highly sought after.

My son just picked up an .800 makeup compact with 1580 hallmark.
There's a lot of nice stuff out there when you look for it.

Got a silver ing with a five prong crown / tiara stamped on it. Next to the 925. Have not been been able to find information about this mark.
Does it have the numbers "925" ? It may be an imported piece.

I got a purse from an antique store. I was told it was possibly silver but not sure. It has a silver (?) upper with felt bag on the bottom. Marked Netherlands and has some hallmarks that I can’t identify. A honey bee (?), crown and a letter B. I have been searching for months online and I have only found one document that spans about 100 years of hallmarks. Any assistance is appreciated. Thanks for the reply!

you have nice things, but you show little of the actual marks. if you just showed the marks, you wouldnt have to worry about showing your face

The 925 sounds like silver purity. Not sure on the other marks. You could email me photos and I'll try and help.
