- Welcome to Campbell's Coins. In this episode we take a look at E-Zest and it's affects on coins and silver. While E-Zest excels at cleaning proof or proof-like coins and bar, it does a great job with other coins too. E-Zest might be a solution for you if you don't want to polish your coins, which leaves micro scratches on your coins or bars. There is a lot of misconceptions when it comes to "cleaning" ones' coins. Some feel dipping is cleaning. But the true definition of cleaning is applying a frictional force to another object. In this video we are only DIPPING coins, we are not apply any frictional force to these coins and bars. A few caveats I must mention. Do not use this on numismatic coins or coins of value. E-Zest is a very potent liquid and can damage a coin or silver if it is left on too long. Please follow the instructions listed on the jar and thoroughly rinse off the metal under running water. I hope you enjoy watching.

Great information, thank you.
Where could I find a carousel like the one used in this video?
Best to use distilled water rather than tap water to rinse, but great demonstration overall!
You're absolutely correct. Since it wasn't premium silver, I wasn't worried and I wanted to see if tap water would make a difference. It's doesn't
I have an Asahi 1oz bar that was in a flip, half was out and exposed for a while and turned a very very light shade of tan....I was wonder if EZ est would work for this?
Probably will. Do it for a few seconds and rinse thoroughly.
LOVE THE STAR WARS!!
👊
Thanks for the tutorial. One question, where did you get the strainer?
I believe it came with the EZest container when I bought off eBay.
Thank you for responding. Shortly after I contacted you, I found a version that comes with a strainer. It's a two pack.
Where did you get that tray for the smaller coins?
I noticed that tray too. I have one that i used to use for cleaning silver jewelry. I believe I still have an old bottle. You probably can pick up the jewelry cleaner at Target, Walmart, or Macy’s jewelry departments.
Sum Dood came with the bottle. I’m sure one can find them on Amazon too in the Jewelry section
someone help with that cleaner? i live in EU, but cannot find any who can send here
buy it from desert cart
How many times can u dip a single coin ?
Jeff Ortberg not entirely sure but I wouldn’t do it more than three times.
Sir, how do you keep the coins from re-tarnishing after you clean them?
Store them in a cool, dry place away from the sun, sources of heat and cold and hope for the best.
Do you have any ASEs for spot? I heard I should ask for them at spot! LOL
Silver Trooper 🤣🤣🤣👊
Fwiw, I believe it's E-Z-EST, as in EASIEST; not E-ZEST. Three syllables; not two. 😉
How much does cleaning a coin hurt its value?? I recently purchased a 1859 Indian Head 1¢. It was sent to PCGS who did not grade the coin. However, PCGS packaged the coin and labeled the coin as "PCGS Genuine Cleaned-VF Detail". On the back it says "Genuine Not Gradable" It is a good looking coin. and I can't see/tell that it had been cleaned. Good Video, Thumbs Up, Subscribed etc., etc., It is all I currently have to offer. I also wish someone can help me find out how much cleaning a coin hurts its value?
a question where i get the ezest is i'm new to numismatics
Your local coin shop might have some. I got mine off eBay.
@@CampbellsCoins thanks you have a new sub
@@llawliet4524 appreciate it! Hopefully it helps your coins
@@CampbellsCoins thanks ☺️
They have it on amazon!
Bro where are you? I have some American silver eagles that are crazy toned and or spotted let's find out what happens
I'm on the Oregon coast
Cracks me up all these coin people pronounce the product ez-est. I believe the intended pronunciation would be E Z est like easyist.
Let's take a vote on that am I right or wrong?
I bought very dirty junk Morgans at a coin show, everyone said dont clean them, I asked why not? & none of them had an answer, just said dont do it. I said they are already junk, so what's the big deal? they had no answer. I used MS 70.
66Block haha sounds right. The answer they should have given you is, it lowers the value if not done properly. It will also show uneven dirt if not well. Uneven dirt is a clear indication of cleaning
Do not used this on your coins; it is only good for those shinny proof coins or silver. It will damage this rest.
Dang man you sitting there under the sink rubbing your fingers all over the coin but the you scared to dry it with the towel lol... no need to rub it at all when rinsing the zest off
I think you're underestimating the pressure I'm using with "rubbing". Running my fingers gently over the coin isn't to get the zest off.
@@CampbellsCoins if its not to get it off then you shouldn't be doing it at all... not underestimating anything there is no reason to rub your coins like that... certainly not supposed to when doing this thats for sure... and it doesn't matter how hard or not hard you are rubbing... fingers shouldn't even be grazing the coins surface
Use acetone first, dip,and acetone again.
Mike Guido acetone works but not as well. Or are you saying acetone, then dip in E Z EST, then acetone? Thanks!
Pronounced 'easy est'
Thanks for the correction. Appreciate you watching.
Where are your safety goggles and gloves? Safety first!!
Hurts the value of coins
EEE ZEEE EST NOT E ZEST
Never EVER clean your coins
100% agree.
I would agree, within reason. For example, there are ebay auctions with some extremely grimey old nickels like shield nickels. There is plenty of detail there, but it's covered in green grime or oxidation. A quick dip would really increase the resale value. But I agree not to do it on anything where lost patina would ruin resale value.
A quick dip to coins with PVC damage is pretty much necessary if done properly
