Thanks had mine done 2wks ago hard to stop it sticking to skin/cartilage. Using methylated spirits no effect at all for sticking issue but does keep it clean.

Also had the question of how do I clean my nose? Especially during the healing stage. Been contemplating getting on for a while now but that's one of the main reasons why I haven't.

Yo can use warm water because the body will heal on its own and twice a day you can soak it or use a syringe always use clean hands or you can also do a salt soak

You shouldn’t rely on just water as the whole point of the saline is that it keeps bacteria away and cleans the fistula, salt soaks shouldn’t be done unless there’s an infection and should only be done with non-table salt. I have had a stretched septum piercing for about 5 years now and have grown very used to caring for it. OP, buy yourself a saline solution (saline-based contact solution is fairly cheap and easy to find) and some cotton buds. Put some warm (not hot) water on the cotton bud followed by a bit of saline solution and very gently clean any crusties- do NOT move the bar if you can help it, just gently clean any gunk away which should be easier with the warm water. Do this twice a day and it should be mostly healed after a few weeks. If you decide to get one, they’re a really great piercing and there’s tons of jewellery options :)

@@Theunknownones. I'd recommend wearing rubber gloves to get a good grab both sides and pull it down, otherwise use tweezers if you feel comfortable, if all else fails go to a piercer and they can help same thing happened to me a while back too
