    I've never had a leather bag of any kind, I don't have a use for a brief case or laptop case but your reviews have made me interested in maybe a leather backpack or shoulder bag. Thanks fashion blogger shabazz 😂

    I like the bag for life bags, when it gets worn you pop into the supermarket and grab another one, all for just one outlay of a dollar. Lidl does one with a shoulder strap.

    FYI, for "Backpack Mode" you can just pass the buckle and shoulder pad through the O-ring, works fine and takes 1/3 the time of unbuckling the strap and removing a shoulder pad (the shoulder pad just needs to be bent a bit into a U to pass it through).

  • @d4mdcykey
    @d4mdcykey Před 5 lety

    Cool looking bag overall, however, they need to redesign the backpack strap conversion, as it were, unnecessarily complicated; and additionally I would prefer the front flap have a more secure latch system. That is a prime target for...um, --pick-- bagpockets.

    I've looked at Saddleback bags since years ago, I carried their bifold wallet for a lot of years before I swapped it for a card holder. I do appreciate the robustness and workmanship that goes into these bags, and they are probably perfect if you're going to the desert and rainforest for an expedition or something. But for regular daily commute to the office they do seem a bit too much, very much overbuilt like you say. I wish they'd make a slim-slim laptop bag without all the D-rings and whatnot, a bit lighter design, but there are other brands for that I suppose.

    • @knowyourhistory
      @knowyourhistory Před 5 lety

      There are much better bag materials for the desert, rainforest and expeditions. Saddleback is mostly marketing.

    I'd love to see you review ITS Tactical's Discreet Messenger Bag. The price is lower than this thing's, but still daunting enough where I don't want to spend on it sight unseen, but it looks like a fantastic design. ITS's boutique status and small following mean there aren't many reviews out there.

    Nice and honest review. Really got to learn a lot of things about messenger bags. I like the bag except the weight and the raw edges of leather and lack of pen and mobile phone holder. Putting all your everyday gears including a laptop the bag should weight not less than 5 Kgs which is pain in the shoulders. I would prefer the English bag even though it cost more than $200-$300. I believe the leather is also bit harder unlike the English bag.

    You should take a look at the Filson bags, something like the 257 in rugged twill, very high quality and much nice than these dead cows.

    • @HH60gPaveHawk
      @HH60gPaveHawk Před 5 lety

      They're a different look for sure, but absolutely not higher quality. Filson quality isn't anywhere near what it used to be.

    • @KeithBohling
      @KeithBohling Před 5 lety

      Unfortunately Filson stopped making the 257. I bought the 258 which was just too big so I returned it for the 256 briefcase. It’s a touch small but not annoyingly. Really wish they still made the 257 because it likely would have been perfect.

    I currently live about a six and a half hour walk from my work. I wish I lived an hour away from my work. Actually scratch that, I work in a terrible neighborhood, so I wish I worked an hour's walk from where I live, yeah that's better. I wouldn't want to have to step over needles and deal with the homeless while walking for an hour.

    Nice case. Not a bad price. love leather. Just be warned, anything rubbing on the inside will be"rubbed raw". Needs a silk sock for laptop. Some of what you consider as a"down" is explained by "Saddle" , it's a style.

    If someone offered me that Saddleback for free, and I couldn't sell it and had to use it regularly, I wouldn't take it. Other than the 'rugged cool' factor, it's a terrible bag. Very impractical and heavy.
