    Absolutely beautiful bags! I am a retired welder and welding inspector. Now, I am taking up leather craft. Mostly to make items for myself! I need a laptop bag and love looking at these for ideas.

    I just ordered my Flight Bag in Tobacco. I cannot wait to get it. :D. Next one will be the large front pocket briefcase in chestnut. I didn’t like how it looked new but most definitely with use and patina, yours looks amazing.

    Wow. If it wasn't for your video, I wouldn't have known that the tobacco brown has been updated and isn't that 'yellowish' colour that wasn't a big fan of.
    I'm planning on getting the front pocket briefcase, but had originally planned to get it in chestnut. Now I'm reconsidering after seeing your video. The tobacco looks awesome, plus I already have a chestnut satchel so it'll be good for me to invest in different colours of the saddleback collection.
    Cheers, mate.

    Great Video! It was really interesting that a lot of your reasons for wanting the front pocket briefcase were counter points to the classic briefcase, almost as if you got the front pocket because it is so opposite from your old one. You are right, the new tobacco color ages REALLY well (plug for going to my channel and checking out my 20 month update video). Also, your old briefcase looks AMAZING, I would love to see some close ups of the wear and tear on that bad boy.

    Wish they still made these medium size FPBC. They only make large and that’s too big for me. Good looking bag.

      I wasn’t aware that they don’t carry the medium size FPBC anymore. And yes, I agree that the large size is way too big for most people. Thanks for watching! 😎👍🏼

  • @gjjakobsen
    @gjjakobsen Před 7 lety +1

    Great video. Folks like me that have their eyes on these two similar but different bags have few ways to gauge their differences. What's your impression on which would make a better everyday commuter bag? The medium classic looks a bit chunky compared with the front pocket BC, which I've read will fit a 15" laptop. I do love the looks of the classic, however. I carry a bag lunch, couple bottles of water, 4 or 5 inches of papers, maybe a paperback. The large classic seemed way too much bag for my 5'8" 170 pound frame. So similar, but I can buy only one! Cheers

    • @iBJanky
      @iBJanky  Před 7 lety +1

      Glenn Jakobsen The large would definitely be too big. I prefer the front pocket briefcase myself, but honestly, you can't go wrong with either one. It all comes down to personal preference.

    • @gjjakobsen
      @gjjakobsen Před 7 lety +1

      Thanks, man. One last question. Can the belt straps on the classic be cinched tight so the case has a slimmer profile?

    • @iBJanky
      @iBJanky  Před 7 lety +1

      Glenn Jakobsen I guess you could the two side straps to do that, but that means that you'd have to undo three straps every time you want to access the inside of the briefcase. That's too much work for me.

    great review. I like the new front pocket bag better. I am curious though. You say you travel the world with the one bag. Is it big enough to put a change of clothes in there.?I am guessing it will be. I wont put a laptop in there but a change of clothes, small camera, a pair of sunglasses, a small book and phone

    • @iBJanky
      @iBJanky  Před 7 lety

      I usually travel with a carry on bag and my Saddleback briefcase as my one personal item. The briefcase itself has more than enough room for a change of clothes. As a matter of fact, I once took it on a three day excursion, and I was able to fit all my clothes and some toiletries in it without any issues.

    • @PRicanLover70
      @PRicanLover70 Před 7 lety +1

    • @iBJanky
      @iBJanky  Před 7 lety +1

      I hope you get what you want. Saddleback Leather recently just had a BIG price increase, which upset a lot of customers. For example: I bought my front pocket briefcase for $599 shipped. After their price increase, it will now cost $810.
      Is this bag worth $810? Probably, but it's a tough pill to swallow.

    I'm about to buy one right now. I am torn between the medium and large front pocket. I will be using it everyday for full time college for 4 years. I am worried that the medium will not be able to hold a couple books and my laptop and some other stuff... But I am. Also worried that the Large will be too big and bulky to carry everywhere all the time.

    • @iBJanky
      @iBJanky  Před 7 lety

      I'd go with the medium. The large is just too big for everyday use for normal sized human beings.

      I've owned both the Medium Front Pocket Briefcase and Medium Classic Briefcases. I'm looking at getting a Large Classic Briefcase for college use (I didn't use the Medium because I was always running out of space (length wise)... the Medium Classic is too small for the 2016 15" Macbook with a protective sleeve on it ( a very snug fit and I don't want the stress on my laptop). My only concern about the Front Pocket is folks on forums have complained about the cigar pocket tearing off due to the strap being anchored to it with the buckle. Carrying the Front Pocket by the handle puts the weight of the bag onto the stitched on cigar pocket. Just something to consider if you carry the briefcase by the handle at all. Also, if you use the handle at all, the Classic is considerably more comfortable IMO.
      One other consideration is if you use the classic as a duffel, you can collapse the interior pockets and have more space opposed to the Front Pocket. If you put a lot of weight into the classic, you have the extra straps to secure the bag down. I've owned a lot of Saddleback products and you may want to look through some of my initial reviews/unboxings. The Square Backpack is an excellent choice for college students, but not that great for formal environments hence why I'm considering the Large Classic. Another informal briefcase size bag is the Large Gear Bag.
      Did you end up ordering anything from Saddleback yet?
