    I've had my side pocket duffel for 51 months in tobacco brown and still use it whenever I go out if town which is alot. I've used this bag ever since I received it on 7/11/14 and it still looks amazing and I still get compliments on it all the time.

    Love the videos! The bag look better every time I see it. It is also nice to see someone who is also using the bags the way they were meant to be used. My bags are loved but used. They only get better looking with use.

    When I lived in Mexico, and was going to school. There were this 3 sisters and were some of the rich kids around. Each one used to carry a bag like that one as back packs. I remember looking at those bags and thinking they looked awesome.

    I've had a Saddleback bag for about 5 years... and I use it very often... now I go back and forth between my briefcase and backpack (both Saddleback). I'd say that "some" people stop using their bags... not most... especially if you're on the Facebook group... those people are fanatics!

    It looks fine for a bag that has been used every day for 420 months; however, for being only 42 months old, it is too aged. The fraying of the edges is the part that has me the most concerned. The scratches and the darkening of the leather are too be expected of any leather goods, but Saddleback should burnish the edges, and it really shows that they do not.

      Yeah man. I ran over my blue ones on accident and when I went to replace them with my best buy geek squad protection, they didn't have blue and I didn't want black or white so I got pink. Easy to spot. They have raised a few eyebrows for sure. I'm secure though so it's all good. I like pink.

    I wouldn't reccommend waiting 42 months to condition a $500+ leather item. I would apply conditioner biannually or more frequently if I lived in a dry area.

    They don't finish their leather products, I have yet to see their edges beveled and burnished on anything. Need to do that to stop the edges from fraying and looking like crap and it makes them easier to tear. How much was that new?

    • @aaronm9139
      @aaronm9139 Před 6 lety +5

      You can't burnish chrome tanned leather. If everyone finished them the same way they'd all look the same. SBL has a more rugged look for sure. There are other companies that burnish their veg tanned leather, but obviously the look is completely different - works for some, not for others.

    • @kennethnied5242
      @kennethnied5242 Před 2 lety

      You certainly can burnish chrome tanned leather. Just use the same method as veg leather: Tokonole cream and a wooden hand burnisher. I own two SBL products, a Moleskine notebook cover and a tri-fold wallet, and finished the ragged edges of both. Night and day difference.
