Well, American Indians have a different culture to the Maori. The reason for NZ having it so different is the extent the Maori have been involved in the founding of the nation unlike in the case of the U.S.A over its long history.
I am an American and as a father of a daughter who is part Cherokee, watching and listening to this strong and powerful young woman who is the same age as my daughter it brings me hope in this world. I wish her gods speed as she fights for her people and for her culture. ❤
As Malay Singaporean, I'm so proud of you. Not only are we related by way of blood and language, we are also bonded by the fact that both of our peoples have become a minority in our own homelands.
Your culture survives well. It has much more ground than the Maori. Despite that, the Maori have succeeded. Many got off the bus and pushed. It's time for Irish people to sit down and actually think if they genuinely care for their history or aren't willing to get involved to preserve it like their forefathers. You have a lot less to travel compared to the Scots.
Me from south part of india, i dont understand single words from her, but her vibration and patriotism towards her people, which i never felt in my 40 years of life... Go girl Go..
For your information I am Marathi guy, I know about this and the girl is Māori and Māoris are the whole soul Native New Zealanders i.e. Aoteāroān. The Racist English are outsiders looters invaders just like they stepped in India they did the same in Aoteāroā. Aoteāroā is the aboriginal country name for New Zealand. The Girl Performed the Haka which is a traditional War Dance performed to infuriate fear in the eyes of enemies but nowadays performed to show respect dignity on occasions like Funeral, Marriage, Ceremonies, Rugby Matches etc
It is not just war cry....it's a cry from deepest part of her heart, she deserves every right to express her heart........ every one will have tears in their eyes.....

Our climate change response has reduced. God, it's embarrassing. I won't stay sitting down, though. I will join protests, see my National MP who is a Maori, write letters and whatever else I can do. It is not only Maori who are shocked by all this regression. You know, mate, I really felt awesome progress, unity and respect around me under Labour. I could feel people looking a lot more proud. I feel always astonished when I see a different tradition, language, nation, from mine, it makes me feel rich in my humanity, bcz I realize that God created us different and this is the beauty and peak of his creation.
To those who waited for centuries to sing your song and speak your language. I first heard, it is authentic and utterly beautiful. I am deeply moved and in tears that i feel your struggle and pain. Thank you for putting this Young Lady on the Map.
My God, U hammered in on..❤
Today I'm thankful for social media. I wouldn't have known about such a beautiful culture. Her courage, enthusiasm, and optimism are glaring. I wish her the absolute best. Let me go watch Moana again 🥲
I can't believe how lucky I am to live in a beautiful country like New Zealand AND to witness the beauty of this culture and language. I have looked at many religions and all have something to offer.
But the Maori ways are so simple, so caring, strong, spiritual, connected, sustainable and unifying.
well support
Love from india..... She love her culture.. Proud of her indentity ❤❤❤
What a beautiful war cry and oath taken by this young woman.. love from India. ❤

Her speech brought tears to my eyes! Beautiful! I wish her nothing but success for her and her people!
Get a job, contribute, and pay the taxes, which are the basic fundamentals of contributing an opinion
@@user-uz7of5sc2qyou can’t paint all maori with the same brush because i also see white kiwi on benefits not paying taxes and not contributing and don’t got jobs so instead of writing something negative make sure your back yard of people are clear 🎉
What great frequencies coming from just one being!!!! I’m engulfed in you and your presence!
What an experience to listen and watch you! WOW!!!!
Her speech later on the part in English is amazing as well, I hope people don’t stop watching after the haka is done!
I am touched by the emotions and the love of this young lady towards her heritage and culture.
Lots of love and best wishes for her political future from India...

This is what I feel. She is so strong.
So young.
So beautiful.
So authentic.
So grounded in Te Ao Maori.
So fluent and well-spoken.
So driven by her people past, future and present. She is a true, true leader.
She is so strong.
Has a great smile too and a great voice.
Do you pay taxes? If you are a beneficiary of the state you are committing a criminal act by using your idle time to undermine the greatest country on earth
Me too like I cryed really hard and feel really sad even though I don’t understand one word of what she said
@@nada9285 Make me cry too, as a taxpayer I would prefer to see her doing something actually tangibly constructive.
As a Tamilian, her war cry brings tears in my eyes.
For those of us who don't speak it, what did she say??

Deep respect for keeping traditions.
This is the best speech / ritual I have ever heard in my life ... congratulations. Blessings from Austria
She unapologetically embraces her culture. Wish we could all be so proud of our roots.
Which culture considering she has white ancestry as well which she fails to acknowledge all Maori are mixed race full blooded Maori no longer exist
Such passion!!!! I played this so many times and never get tired of it. Love from the Philippines!!

I'm already her big fan! Incredible charisma and intelligence! Real, authentic cultural messages! She is an example for every young person in the world!❤❤❤
It’s wonderful to enjoy words, but cruel to give false hope to ignorant children who know little. If you are sincere in your thoughts and wishes, then please get the farnow of the couch and in to a job to start paying for all this nonsense
@@user-uz7of5sc2q Dude, what is Cruel? 😂That the Maori are in their own home? In that some Englishmen have come to their land and are now telling them what they have the right to do and what not? Believe me, anywhere else in the world they would have been kicked out long ago!
I just watched this as a Muslim American and I was crying with the aunty in the back, you must know that I am rooting for you just like your dad, just like all the oppressed, abused, enslaved, wronged, robbed people of the world… god bless you, I made my elder mom and aunt watch this and explained (they are from Middle East), they are all proud of you… god speed

Native Maori, you are beautiful. This young lady is beautiful. My heart swelled listening to this. Protect your language, heritage, culture, customs, language because it is the most beautiful thing in this world to hear that you still maintain the essence despite everything and all those who want and impose this world to be uniform and the same. The differences are wonderful, your language and song is something especially wonderful to hear. Stay strong as you are, big greetings from Croatia.
What a beautiful speech, and waiata. Can't wait to see how much change for good she brings throughout her career xxx
You mean young naive activist abusing her privileged political position to grandstand. Amazed she wasn't part of the green filth party, she fits the demographics.
Beautiful. What a speech. And the grace shown by other parliamentarians in welcoming her with open arms. The exuberance shown by her supporters in the visitors gallery and the patience exhibited by the speaker is exemplary and worth emulating.

Watch this over and over, pure inspiration, God bless you 🙏
It's beautiful when people embrace who they are.
Instead of denying who you are, take drugs and undergo surgical mutilations to be who you want to be or who you think you are, have the courage own who you are and manifest your true self❤

I'm actually form Philippines and I don't understand in some words she spoken but I got tears in my eye drops because she's 21 yrs old and I feel his love in the country and to the culture.
If you're native Filipino, then she is a your relative because Filipinos and Maoris are related by way of blood and language. From Malaysia to Indonesia to the Philippines to the Polynesia, we are one family.
My heart goes out to these purest of the humans -- the Maoris-- who endured the atrocities of the invaders but stood their ground with such perseverance that their norms are still upheld with strength by the likes of this young MP. ❤

Truth and justice. Pure activism grandstanding abusing her political platform. She's young and naive its not her fault.

@@backindabayhow is the truth she is telling her being a activist?
@hineataeparaima8854 The truth yeah right. Politicians are supposedly representing all people's of this country. Separatism is activism and helps no one moving forward.
@backindabay a member of the Parliament represents voters in their electoral seat who elected him/her and their political party (if they are affiliated with any), not all people of the country.
