      They should build something like this (the 500cc) with a removable, lightweight, aerodynamic , weather enclosure. You'd be able to ride in wet & cold weather year round . If you keep a bottle of Rain-X for the windshield, it'd stop the windshields from fogging up and keeps the water from sticking to the windshield so you wouldn't need a windshield wiper.

      Insurance is a bit more than you'd pay for a normal 300cc scooter probably because of the non bike license and I think that is fine. What I didn't know was the price of the road tax for them is the same as a medium sized car about £ 100 quid per year. Didn't know about that before I purchased it. But guys its quick its fun and you can go touring on it almost anywhere 😎

    Buying a 500 hpe ABS with custom seat and black carbon with red and black carbon camo wrap, hand warmers, alarm, the whole shebang 🤗 just a few weeks saving left...
    Had a testdrive first, also on the Gilera Fuoco, it looks cooler but Fuocos do not have ABS and ASR so they slide with a emergency braking test,wich I did. The MP3 ABS does not slip.
    Since I drive always even on snow and ice, this beats driving on a 2 wheel Piaggio Zip scooter in the winter.
    I'm probably gonna put white horizontal bar stickers at 50 km , 80 and 100 and 130 km per hour, so it should be easier to see the speed.

  • @artboymoy
    @artboymoy Před 3 lety +3

    I have a 2010 500cc MP3. I like it so much better over my previous maxi scooter the 2007 Piaggio 500cc X-9. The Sport MP3 looks like it is has a wider tire distance compared to mine. The two wheels offer a lot more stability at higher speeds, going over bumps and passing trucks. Before I would get buffeted a little and the front end would be a bit bouncier. I've taken mine down to Chicago from Madison WI (about 150) and it's comfy as I take it on the country roads. I like it and it does draw some attention.

  • @bertiesworld
    @bertiesworld Před 8 měsíci

    That is my real complaint about the MP3 300 as well. The speedo. KMH is the dominant scale, with MPH being sunk down and in some weather conditions much more difficult to see at a quick glance. Yes, there are the red dots at 30 etc but not ideal. Shame they didn't think about adding the speedo reading to the large display in the centre, as part of the menu. I've invested in a USB powered GPS HUD with a larger green LED display. But otherwise it goes ok. One soon gets use to going around corners. I tend to use the same technique I tended to use on my SV1000SZ. Good practical review. And its even cheaper now.

  • @luisfelipelagunarivero2699

    As a passionate motorcyclist I can say that I do not understand why manufacturers make us want a concept motorcycle covered in the elements and in the end they do not put it on the market. MP3 only lacks weather protection.

    Excellent video, have been thinking about one of these for a while and have now ordered one today. One question, when it comes to MOT time is it a standard bike MOT or does it have to be taken to a specialist? There are a few motorcycle dealers near me but none sell these and therefore I had to order from a dealer 80 miles from where I live. Any info about MOT'S would be appreciated.

    New beginner rider beware thinking this is a safe option because it has 2 wheels in the front: It has a high center of gravity as you sit up high too. Notice he is on his tippy toes. If he sat on a Honda Goldwing, his feet would be flat on the floor. This scooter will want to tip as soon as you release the locked front wheels to go. It is not a typical small scooter. It is large and heavy and only an experienced rider should drive this scooter. An inexperienced rider has to remember to lock those front wheels when stopped before getting off as it will balance on its own a bit. You can get off and not realize you didn't lock the wheels and the scooter will go right over. Happened to a friend of mine. It is fun to ride, has great stopping power with 3 brakes and is way safer on uneven surfaces as well as going over RR tracks. Try to buy used as new buyers will tend to sell this after a year or so. High price end new.

    Nice machines but very heavy, fuel consumption realistically 55 to 60 mpg. I got to the point of having to fill up every time I did a decent local ride. The idea that a car driver can simply get on one and drive away is dangerous. It is a heavy motor cycle and initially needs to be ridden with care. Then at MOT time they need specific MOT stations for 3 wheelers. May motor cycle MOT stations are not able to cover them. Nice machines but be carefull.

      Depends on the state. Some states don't hate motorcycles and scooters. Others do. My state (Connecticut) wants to discourage two wheels as much as possible and so requires a crapton of bullshit to get licensed, including a safety course. Now, that latter would be great IF there were more than five places in the entire state to take the course. Anyone who lives in the Northwest section has to drive at least 1-1/2 hours to get to the nearest location and the course is spread over three days. What a colossal joke.
