    I once owned an MP3 400 and I have ridden an earlier version of the 500. I feel that this version has a number of important improvements. Reverse gear and a reverse view camera are very helpful. If you live in a place that has nose to the kerb angle parking it is easy to roll the bike in on the camber of the road but hard to duck walk it out. The cruise control is also a good addition. The three wheels are good for stability and provide extra safety but in every respect, they handle like a motorcycle. Some people might have issues holding up a heavy bike so the locking suspension is a good feature also. The screen looks tall but, in my view, could be wider (based on what can be seen in the video). It could also be electrically adjustable. I've just traded from a Kawasaki Vulcan Voyager 1700 to a Can Am Spyder RT because of the extra wheel and increased stability.

      Pat go and take it for a test ride you will enjoy it once you get used to the locking system and the reverse is great as it is heavy I had the 500 without it for about 18 months and the new one for about 8 months as it was one of the first to be registered in the uk 😊🛵

    My ‘21 MP3 500 HPE is ideal and can reach 100 mph without being unstable. Once you get used to the hydraulic vertical feature it is so easy to walk it back or forward. Under seat storage is huge, no vibrations and good wind protection and a range of 150 miles plus and it has Apple play. 600 lbs is no lightweight so if it tips it’s a problem to right up but if you’re careful you’ll eliminate it

    Some suggestions for Piaggio: Need Full GPS mapping in large screen (Glass cockpit style similar to Yamaha T-max); Missing electric windshield with wiper washer (similar to T-Max and Adiva), more torque at low revs (ideally turbo charger like Fiat Twin-air turbo), higher gearing for lower rpm on highway (ideal 2000rpm @ 120kph), electronically select-able transmission response, (sport & cruise, like Fiat CVT by using a adjustable CVT pre-load. Lifetime CVT steel belt, Convertible hard top roof for rainy days (similar to Adiva). Crash bars for protection. Its a bit too expensive. Small car is same price!

    Good review on the 530 as with the app on the phone it is not very good as it worked well for a bit then crashed and spent ages trying to pair it and not working so gave up and put a Tom Tom on it and it works great so now go out and enjoy your time riding it 😊😊

    Cool video.. I gave up motorbikes a while back and moved to a trike. I had a 300 HPE and traded it in for the 530 and got a great deal otherwise I may have gone for the Kymco. I find the 530 way better and while I miss the more agile 300 at times but the 530 features are super cool. I live in the city and park mine on sidewalks and in weird situations where the reverse comes in handy. One thing regarding the bouncing or instability in corners. Its very important to have the right settings with the rear shocks. I had the same problem with my 300 and moved it up one notch on each side with the special tool and it was a night and day difference. So if this is set for two riders or you weigh too much or too little you can throw off the performance in handling. Its no sports machine but setting this is key (IMO).. As is tire pressure.. Anyway just some thoughts as from the video it does not look right..

    I have the old 2021 500 HPE Sport. I already started receiving messages from the dealer that they can give me 2000 euros discount from 13k to 11k. Issue is.. I payed 11k on the old one (top of the libe) including optionals.. because oh boy Piaggio will sell you a scooter and then you will spend easily 1-2 k on heated grips, bagster leg cover(I do a lot of winter riding), new dash and so on. Actually I think I like the old one better. What's wrong with analog dials? 13k plus extra is too much IMHO for a scooter. Blind spot and reverse cameras are useles.. will still do head checks and I still park it by locking the wheels and push it back in the tight parking spots of Paris even if I have the reverse gear. Only time it's usefull is when you park face down on heavy inclines.. which is a rare occasion

    For someone like me who has spinal issues that continue to degrade this makes a lot of sense just don’t expect a lot of dealer support with any issues. I was able to get used to locking the front end before stoping so that feature is a major plus for me. Have considered these for years might be time. It’s an expensive decision too

      @BenalRida  Před 21 dnem

      Well, as you might have noticed from the video, I was not totally happy how it handled in the corners, and the dealer insured me that the tire pressure was correct. The only three-wheeler I can recommened wholeheartedly is the TriCity 300. The TriCity rides like a bike with two wheels!! The display could be upgraded though. When it comes to the score, I would give the TriCity a score of 8 because of the display. Everything else is great, also storage space. The Piaggio I would give a 6 or 7, but mostly only because of the nice standard equipment it comes with like dispaly and radar.

    • @Mark-ev6ls
      @Mark-ev6ls Před rokem

      I had 2 previous mp3, and they are fun, safe and practical (underseat storage is bigger then Kymco CV). I loved to ride them. But take a testride of several to see which suits your needs ;. Piaggio 400hpe 2022 is lighter and cheaper, more for innercity and few highway, the mp3 500 is heavier more suited for highway but also practical in city cause it has reverse gear. The Kymco CV3 is more a highway and distance cruiser; twin engine but small underseat storage. If you want cheaper options, there are the Peugeot Metropolis400 and the Yamaha tricity 300. These are also more for inner city use. I am still hesitating between the mp3 400 2022 and the 530 2022, because the became expensive. Altaugh they are so nice and safe to ride.

      Sure, it can do motorway drives, but that 300cc single cilinder is not made for it, and if you "push" the engine at near full power or high revs, its not ideal, its better suited for city and reguonal roads. A 400cc or bicylinder is just better suited for highway use. Just the 300cc tricity or xmax300 is not suited highway 🙏.
      Best whishes for Y2023 and keep it safe, please.

    Having the previous Mp500 sport I most say what on earth are Piaggio thinking?
    In my mind they ruined a perfect machine re making it to bee a larger Yamaha Tricity that we know is grately inferior to Piaggio.
    This Asian styling (looks as made by Kymco) takes its soul away.
    I am glad to have the previous one that runs like a charm and looks Piaggio/Italian.

    It would be so much better if it didn't have the foot brake!! Giving you more room. And why couldn't they make it so you can put your legs out more
    Much more comfortable.

    • @Mark-ev6ls
      @Mark-ev6ls Před rokem +4

      With the footbrake, you can ride it on a car licence, without, you need a motor licence. You can stretch your legs a bit more on the new model, cause they lowerred the footing and the stear is closer, so you have better position. Unfortunately, because of the 2 front wheels, you can not sit with streched legs as on a xmax or tmax lets say. I had 2 previous mp3, and they are fun and safe to ride in al conditions.

    • @Mark-ev6ls
      @Mark-ev6ls Před rokem

      What is that thing at around 7 minutes that you can only swtch on or off 1 time, then it has to be reset in the shop?
      One more negative for the mp3 500, the fueltank should be 15liter, the fuel consumption is around the 5 liter actual and going 5,5 to 6 liter if you drive it fast, so the range is limited; the 530 is mote focused on highway, so a longer range is preferred. The underseat is still large considerred its a big engine in the frame. Very nice review!!!
      I am still hesitating between the new 530 or the new 400, in view of the price and the weight and the options.

    • @adamhughes5358

      The foot brake is so that they can get around the car licence and not the bike license rider which makes sense

  • @redbull4fly797
    @redbull4fly797 Před rokem +5

    Honestly I think it is pointless to buy this for so much money. Much better to make a driving licence and buy something else (Tmax or similar if you want a 500cc scooter) or buy 300cc 3 wheeler for 7-8 thousand. It costs and weight less and also has decent performance as well. For long trips they are all uncomfortable anyway.
    Also this is almost a proper bike and without a licence for a motorcycle and experiences I really woudn't recommend it (much better to make a licence and get some skills).

    • @Mark-ev6ls
      @Mark-ev6ls Před rokem +3

      Unfurtunately, you did not get it, i had 2 previous models, and because of the extra wheel, its always safe to ride, especially on slippery and/or wet roads, it gives you that secirity. For those who need ride more highway, its better the 530, for the city, the 400 is better suited and still cheaper and little lighter. I agree with you that the price is very high, there are cheaper versions and competitors. And there is the Kymco CV3, that has a twin engine, but does not have the underseat capacity as this Mp3.
      Take them for a testride, and compare the mp3 400 2022 vs 530 2022 and also Kymco CV3, after a short time, they are so nice and fun and safe to ride.😉

    • @redbull4fly797
      @redbull4fly797 Před rokem +1

      @@Mark-ev6ls I had one too. It was great (as you said nice, fun, safe), but only for city riding - what I liked the most was to lock the front wheels while waiting for a green light. I didn't enjoy that much on longer trips and for that price I would rather get for sure Tmax > less weight, better performance, more agile, better looking, twin (better sound), better feedback from the road/cornering.
      Slippery/wet roads aren't such a big deal for me, never really have had problems with that, but I guess it is a little safer.

    • @Mark-ev6ls
      @Mark-ev6ls Před rokem

      Yes, the Tmax is more close to a motorbike without the hassle of shifting, unless your a motorist who like to ride motors and sound. And the seat of the second version of mp3 improoved, i am currious if this 3 edition, the seat got thinner, is as comfortable for long rides. Shame about the high price. Wonder too about the Kymco CV3 ride quality, that is a twin engine. But i like the underseat storage, a topcase is even more ugly.
      In more and more city, the parking is getting expensive, so you ride your scooter single or duo, park on a free spot, and visit or shop in town, no traffic hassle. Enjoy your safe rides and take care.

    • @Mark-ev6ls
      @Mark-ev6ls Před rokem

      And for my city or daily ride, i use my economical xmax400. Thats the best inbetween for affordable money. Shame they stopped production, cause its better as the xmax300 for highway use and in duo.

  • @1zanglang

    Full of quite useless bling bling stuff. Rear camera, and rear radar? Is this for riders with cervical spine problems? Turning head to look back, or blind spot mirrors are obsolete things? And the price... 4000 plus euros more expensive than Tricity 300? For that money you got the T-Max, which is far, far away ahead of anything Piaggio can make.
    If you're a car driver, with that money, you get your riding school, tests and licence, you buy a Honda Forza 750, and top notch riding helmet and gear. Or just get an X-ADV, instead of this heavy, ugly, clumsy MP3. Yikes!

    • @Mark-ev6ls
      @Mark-ev6ls Před rokem +2

      You are right, they look clumsy, but maybe you did not ride test ride it? They are safe to ride in all conditions, especially wer and rain, slippery roads and wet pavement. Of course they became way expensive, ouch. But the new Tmax also is more expensive. I had 2 MP 3 before, and love to ride them, practical and fun and safe. But i agree, they look clumsy and the new is expensive. Still i recommand to test ride them mp3 new 400 and new 530 and see for yourselve, and maybe also the Kymco CV 3.
