  • The new Piaggio MP3 features a new engine (300 hpE), ABS and traction control. With two wheels on the front, it offers more confidence than a classic scooter. But is it, actually, better? We took a 150 cc Piaggio Medley to make a comparison.

    So, lets do a rehearsal:
    MP3 300 hpe brakes better than the medley,grips better on the corners,has better weather protection and abs with asr as standard.Also is more comfortable and faster too,even if you din't said it clearly.Moreover has an instrument panel with all the info you would ever want,with Piaggio s MIA interface available if wanted.
    On the other hand,medley splits lanes more easily and is cheaper to get and maintain.We didn't see if those 2 helmets actually fitted in the medley.
    The decision is to the people who are interested in buying them and not to you two!!!

    On my MP3 I find it is better when you have the steering locked to not give it just a little bit of throttle when you take off from a dead stop give it about half throttle and it will take off in a straight line no problem if you do not they have a tendency to lean a little bit to the left or to the right that you have to correct right away

    The 300 is much heavier than the 150 so at low speed it is going to feel more unstable. Lane filtering or splitting is going to be more difficult because it is wider at the front so approach the idea with caution. Tow contact patches is much safer and the locking of the front wheel means you don't put your feet down at the lights. It has plenty of speed and power and would be ideal for those who haven't ridden before and also for older riders who are finding holding up a bigger bike difficult.

    I got myself a 500cc HPE MP3 LT 2019. It have room for 2 full-helmets. But both helmets has to be on the side. I don't understand the problem with the wide wheel base. Handlebar are wider the the weels. And you don't get more balance, then you got. Just for adding another wheel. You still fall over, if you tink its like a car or a trike/ATV, with to wheels at the back. But you get more grip with 3-wheels. I hardly use the locking system on the front wheels. It can quickly make the bike fall to one of the sides. It tends to push the bike over to one of the sides when unlocking. It may be that one of the locks will release before the other. Will check with the garage, if they can do something about the problem.

      Sa Fugim Salutare. Noi, motociclisti fiind, intotodeauna vom prefera un scuter normal - mai simplu, mai usor, mai ieftin. Dar daca n-ai chef sa-ti iei permisul de A, poti folosi un MP3 fara probleme. E simplu de pilotat, sigur, comod. Viteza maxima e de 120 km/h. Nu te poate opri nimeni sa mergi la mare cu el, dar trebuie sa stii ca vei merge cu 80-100, in general. Apropo, saua este suficient de comoda pentru o astfel de calatorie :)

    • @paladino444
      @paladino444 Před 4 lety +4

      How a cycle brakes and handles in the rain is the most important feature to me because I ride wet or dry and I ride in third world countries with extra dangers and they never talk about it. Why do I say so? Because during or immediately after rain is when more accidents happen. The dual disk ABS on the MP3 will absolutely kick the ass of any two wheel braking scooter. It has been shown in test that the stand mp3 braking matches the braking distances of Gran Prix racing bikes. Other than my comment it was a very extensive review and discusssion and I enjoyed it a lot. I just wish that MP3 where available worldwide
