I am 6'4" 270, have a 2021 with wider superstock foot pegs. That helped with my size 13 boots. Otherwise, none of my other mods are related to risers and bars - they are off road mods like folding mirrors, grip guards, Ricochet engine guard, etc. The bike is great for me in town, cruising the country roads or off road! Thanks for all your videos - love em'!
Hey Carl!! Thank you, this is what I was hoping someone would share! This comment is gonna be pinned for sure!
For sure, thanks for sharing. Matt you did great on this one. Thanks a lot
@@roberthathon4966 Thanks Robert!! I appreciate it!
Thank you for commenting that, we are the same size, I'm just a couple pounds heavier. Do you think a heavier spring would be nice? Does it sag more than you would like?
@@ericbest9562 I haven't run into any sag or bottoming out on or off road. The stock spring has been working great for me.
I'm glad to read these comments. I'm 6'2" 275 pounds. I'm 62 years old, retired and not looking to go anywhere fast. Most of my riding will be in the Daniel Boone National Forest. I can ride there providing it is tagged and street legal. I appreciate your channel and information. It has helped me to decide on a TW. I was lucky enough to find a 2023 for MSRP plus freight. I am picking it up Tuesday. 450 miles round trip, but closest I could find. Again, thanks.
Sweet Mark!! I am glad they helped and I think this bike is seriously one of the best machines still available today. Thanks for watching and for the comment!
Hey Matt, enjoy your videos emencely ... I'm 6'5' with a 38 inseam / 195 lbs and I love my TW ... I replaced the stock seat with a Seat Concepts (Tall) and installed new ProTaper (high extension) handlebars with 1.5" risers without having to change wiring / cables on the bike ... Those mods have made the TW super comfortable for both on and off road conditions. Although, I use the TW almost exclusively off road (ranch related work / transport). Love the damn thing ...
Hey Don! Thanks for being part of the channel, I really appreciate it! I might have to try different bars and risers on mine again. I don't think I need the tall seat though....I am vertically challenged. I would love to have a ranch and do stuff like that with the TW. Thanks again!
Handsome family there Matt. Whole lotta clean living in beautiful UTAH USA
Thanks! They are great and I am truly blessed that I've got them! Yep, clean living never hurt no one! 😂
Also 6’2”. I love this bike. I think many people (guys) are afraid of how they’ll look and get made made fun of. Life is too short to worry about that nonsense. If you don’t want to ride on the interstate then theres nothing better than TW or similar displacement dual sports.
👏👏👏 Well said Charley, well said!! Thanks for the comment!
Just picked up a 2020 T Dub last weekend. I had the same my question myself and your channel gave me the confidence to buy one! So thank you for creating this content!
I'm 6ft, 280lbs, with a 32" inseam. The stock T Dub fits me well and by no means does it feel bogged down. I can't wait to load it up with camping gear this fall!
Sweet!! Congrats Chris, that is good to hear! I had a good time on our camping trip and I wish I would have drawn out for the hunts this year cause this thing would be going for sure!
5' 10" ish and 300 lbs. Now I ain't sayin it's a pretty sight, but my Tdub doesn't seem to care that I'm such a big boy. I DID switch out the seat for a Seat Concepts seat and it was the best $200 I've spent on it. It makes a huge difference. I find that I DO need to let it warm up before I ask too much of the engine, because the clutch slips for about the first 10 minutes.
Hey Tom! Thanks for the awesome insight! I appreciate it!
I’m 6’2” and 250 pounds. My 2022 fits me perfect. I wouldn’t change anything!
Nice!! That's what we like to hear!
6',250, 2024 fits just fine. Just needed to upgrade the springs...My back is old!
Perfect!! Thanks for letting us know!
I am 6ft 1, 215 lbs, fits me great. Me, I have put handle bar risers and larger IMS footpegs on as well as the seat concepts seat foam & cover (this seat raises you slightly, which I like also). The stock rear sprocket is a 50-tooth - I went down to a 47-tooth (same chain) for more top end & lower revs at higher speeds and it still pulls well in 1st gear - with the 50-tooth you can get about 10ft in first, lol, with the 47-tooth, a lot further. If you are at elevation or ride in hilly terrain, you may want a 52-tooth rear sprocket - but it will be screaming into higher revs at 55mph. Most folks I speak with find the 47-tooth is a good compromise and a good bit lower revs with this on the engine at speed. Many are fine with the stock 50 tooth. To each his own, enjoy. Cheers, Ronny
Did you go with the regular seat or their Tall seat?
@@CD-hc5ds I went with the regular seat concepts seat foam. My wife is 5ft 6" and she sat on the stock one, then the seat concepts right after I installed it and we could see the slight difference, she could still touch feet to the ground, but not as easily.
Hmm, Im 6'1" & have trying to decide between the reg or tall 🤔 .
Did you see Jackwagon Hoedown's comment? He is 6'2" and loves it.
Thanks for the comment and the advice Ronny!!
The good news is, that when you have minimal suspension, there's not much to compress :) :). But heightwise, I don't think there's going to be an issue all.
Fair point! 😂
Another great video! I just picked up a 2022, and I love it. Im 5'11", with a 34 inseam. I can honestly say after half an hour of road riding my legs feel a little cramped. Also standing up riding the bike is uncomfortable with the bars being so low. This is my second TW, I absolutely love them. Going to add some bar risers, and foot pegs to make it more comfortable for me. I really enjoy your video's, definitely added to my want factor for buying a 2022. Keep up the great video's!
Thanks! If I were in Oregon I'd ask if I could go prospecting with you and take the Tdubs! That looks like a great time. I should watch more of your videos and see how it's done. I have heard there is some of that rock out here in Utah still. I hope the mods make the Tdub more comfortable for you. Let me know how it goes! Thanks for taking the time to watch, I really appreciate it!
@@MOBStreet83 I would gladly take you on a prospecting trip with the tdubs, that would be a lot of fun. I will have to make a video going prospecting with the bike. I will let you know how the mods work out for me : )
I'm 5'10" and weigh 265#. The T-Dub works great for me. It's not a speed demon, it's a trail tractor. I have a 47 tooth rear sprocket for 1-3 mph more speed, and it runs at 55 mph full speed, comfortable at 45 mph.
Nice! That's good to know!
i'm 6ft 220. the bigger issue i have with speed is having a maxxis atv tire on back and a a dunlop d606 rear tire on front. have done some trails with a passenger, so 400 lbs, bottomed out a lot through dips, had passenger get off to do water crossings and steep step-ups. otherwise first gear half throttle got us through it lol.
have peg weld on extensions, inch riser, the upgraded tires raise the overall height by a couple inches at least. one thing i need to do is upgrade front suspension
Sounds like that bikes ready for the mountains! I've bottomed mine a couple times, but usually it's only when I'm jumping the bike! 😁
@@MOBStreet83 i forgot to mention i have 55t rear and 12t front as well. i think i'm pretty much redlined at 55-60mph
As a big and tall my Honda ruckus has a hot supper every time I ride it and that's way I'm wanting a tw200 so I can do "highway speeds" 45mph vs 35mph on flat and 25mph with hills in a 55mph zone is a little too slow but love riding. Looking forward to the day I get a tw200.
Man, I want a Ruckus so bad!! That is the only scooter I have ever seen where I can honestly say that I want one! Yeah, the TW would be an upgrade for sure, but that Ruckus has a pretty sweet following as well.
@@MOBStreet83 trade '09 with 7100 miles 🤣 just kidding I love Ruckus but too many great joy ride with my son from 6 months old to now almost 5y
I know what you mean! These bikes have done that for me and my kids and my Harley is the same since it was my dad's bike.
I'm 5'10" 260 lbs. Stock works great for me.
Nice! Thanks Mike!
I’m 5’10 and weigh in at 290lbs and this can carry me no problem
Excellent!! Thanks for letting us know!
I got you by 10 lbs. As long as nobody tells the TW, we're fine. I don't think 300 pounders faze it.
Hey Matt, great subject! I'm 6'3", 240lbs and am comfortable on my 2005 TW. I've installed bigger footpegs, 2" risers and a longer shift lever to help. 50-55mph is comfortable, but I avoid the highways anyway. I feel more comfortable going 50 on a gravel road than on the highway... YMMV
Thanks Gene! Thanks for chiming in! I know I am on the shorter scale of who rides the bike so the input from those of you who are taller is great!
I trust Matt, when it comes to the TW 200 over any other channel.
Thanks Mike!! That means a lot!
Great Video Matt! Stay cool out there in the desert =)
Thanks Julian! I Love our Utah Desert!
5' 8'' 160lbs just upgraded springs, Pro Cycle, no more bottoming out for me. Best upgrade for any TW200.
Sweet! That is something that I still need to do with mine!
I am 285 and I have changed the rear mono-shock spring. I have also swapped the front springs and added proportional valves. As for top speed...if that's an issue...this is not the bike for you! 😂🏍
😂 Yes!! That is absolutely right. What springs did you go with?
180lbs. 15/50 sprockets
1st gear 1/2 throttle. Climb any hill no problem.
I always carry a backpack filled with tools and drinks and front and rear tube adds up to about 40lbs. Plus my 180 plus a 1.5 gallon gas jug. Tw has no issue climbing these steep mountains in Canada 🇨🇦 🤟🍺👍
NOTE TO SELF......lose a lot of weight so my TW won't have any issues either! 😂 I would love to ride up there in Canada one day. Thanks Anthony, I appreciate it! 🍻
5"10" 240lbs Use Protaper ATV high bars and Rox risers. Love it. Also there are some pretty inexpensive suspension upgrades you can do.
Nice!! What height risers did you go with? Maybe I should start working on my suspension next!
@@MOBStreet83 Ape Racing not Rox and they are 2"
My latest mod on my Tdub is a Clarke XT350 tank in natural. Four gallons is very nice. Louder horns are next. That little beep in traffic doesn’t do beans.
Nice! Yeah, the horn on these I think is still the one they used for the original "Ag Bike" 😂
So what I am hearing is, in oder to have a bike to ride off-road and on the street I need two bikes? I guess that is much easier than changing the sprocket! 😂😂
Well, I am not gonna tell you not to get two of them.......what kinda person would I be if I did that? 😂
5'9" 210lbs, with 45T rear I've had it up to 70mph, probably could have gone a little higher but traffic held me up. Bike came with risers and some cheap Amazon atv bars (too flat for my liking). Plan on swapping to protaper adventure bar I have on my DR650.
P.S. I'm the fellow Matt from the FB group.
Sweet!! Thanks for letting me know! How does that 45 tooth do on the hills? This is motivating me to lose some weight! 😂
@@MOBStreet83 I live in southern Indiana... not much hills or elevation here. I drove around a state park with hills and it did ok but that was only 30mph road. The DR feels like a rocket after I ride the TW.
I'm 6ft. 250lb and running a 45 tooth sprocket on the back. i can cruse down the highway 60mh. all day no problem. i live in the hilly Ohio valley going up hills isn't a problem . you still have to down shift were you would with the stock gear setup. Off road ? I still have to shift 3 times to get out of my yard. Still lots of torque down low.
Thanks David! I've been told to try that setup but didn't know how it would do with my weight. I appreciate it!
I bought my first bike 2 weeks ago. I found a 2004 tw200 with 418 miles for $2,900. I just got it back from the mechanic and after a tune up, new chain, etc. It's perfect. With that said, I've watch a ton of your videos! I've learned a lot, but I'd like to ask what kind of street tire options would you recommend? I'm in the blue ridge mountains, so I have plenty of places to ride off road, but I want a nice set of street tires for the first few months so I can learn to properly ride first.
I'm 6'1 and 270 pounds. The TW 200 has the same comfort as the klr 650 I sat on, but better imo since I can plant my feet on the ground.
Thanks for all the content!
Hey Matthew! Actually, the stock tires aren't a bad street tire to learn with really. I put 2,500 miles on my 2019 with the stock tires and I rode that thing all over the place. They do really well on the road and as long as you are running and maintaining proper tire pressure they are a good tire. I have the Dunlop K180's and they are awesome on the road but I am not the biggest fan of them on the dirt. I really like my Shinko SR241 Front tire and the stock rear tire though, they seem to be a great setup for pretty much anything for the TW! I hope that helps! Excellent find with the bike as well!
@@MOBStreet83 When you run the k80s do you have both front and rear, or do you leave the stock rear on and only change the front? I'm in mountain town, plenty of trails, etc., but I definitely plan to spend the vast majority on the pavement until I get a really confident. Thanks man!
I have the matching set of the K180's. Front and rear in the stock sizes for the TW.
Im 6'5 300 lbs and the bike is essentially bone stock absolutely love the bike but the suspension does bottom out on jumps and the handles bars make standing impossible but luckily procycle makes an awesome 5" riser kit that im about to pick up that should change that
I need to get some suspension done on mine too! Just to show what is out there. I know Bradley Performance has a beefy rear shock for it! www.bradleyperformanceproducts.net/?ref=bfjxsx34
A+ love your vids.
Thanks Clark! I really appreciate it and I am glad you like them!
Hey Mobstreet! I got my TW200 recently and love it to death, it is brand new and I just added the cycle racks rack and ricochet plate. I took it for a spin yesterday and now the front tire is squeaking when pushing in neutral, what do you think the problem is? And if you know a solution could you make a video about it for us new to motorcycles?
Congrats on the new bike! Yeah, it might be just some dust in-between the brakes and rotor. Some break cleaner and compressed air might do it. I'll get a video on it for you!
I am 205 and 6'1" with a 2005. The bike can easily ride at around 50-55, but it will get up to 60-65 although the engine will be revved up pretty high. Completely stock bike. This bike can do a lot but don't expect it to be super fast.
Excellent point Nathan! It can do a lot just don't expect it to be fast, well said!
You still the man matt!!
Thanks Nathan! 👍
I'm 6'2 and 210 lbs. I upgraded all my springs, which should've been my first upgrade but I may look like a Circus bear on it I don't care, it'll go anywhere with me on it
Sweet! What springs did you go with?
They are the heaviest springs you can get for it.
Thanks for making this video, this is exactly what I wanted to know.. . I have been looking for a dual sport that can carry me around since I am 6 feet tall and about 250lbs butt naked 😁. I want something under 250cc so my son or daughter can use it if they want to.
You bet Roberto! This is the bike you'd want then. My kids are learning to ride them also and they love them! This is my daughter learning to ride it. czcams.com/users/shortsAKgvANhfhxY?feature=share
@@MOBStreet83 Nice! Both of my kids started riding when they were 6 and 8 years old. They started on 125cc ATVs and now they both have KLX 110 semi-auto dirt bikes. 🙂 I will start looking for a new T-Dub or an XT250 I will see in which of those two I can find the best deal.
How tall of risers can I go before I have change the cables
Hey Mike! I have heard that you are good with 2" risers before you have to do anything, but I am not certain.
@@MOBStreet83 thanks,by chance do you know if there is packing inside the stock muffler
I don't Mike, but I will soon and let you know.
I put on 2'' risers and had plenty of cable
Good to know James! So far I have only added the 30mm risers and same, no issues with cables.
I'm 6'4 210 weight not a problem. Height is a problem. It sucks but I ride it anyways. It's not comfortable for me. I wont sell it though.
Nice! Have you done any mods to help with the comfort of the bike?
6’3 155lbs. How’d that be?
With a set of risers for the bars, I'd say it would be fine for you!
I was 6'1 296lbs when i got my 21 Tdub. Heck it runs better and better all the time. Lol of course I'm down to 260 now LoL 36lb tune up
Nice!! Good job on the tune up. I need to do that myself! 😂
I'm 6'6 I'm hoping I'm not to big and my legs can hold me up
Some have installed the Seat Concepts taller seat and installed some handlebar risers and taller bars and have been happy with the results!
I am 4.7 can i ride this beast please tell me someone
My kids are that height and they can ride it just fine. It'll be a bit of a reach for you, but it should be okay.
