- After disposing of all-comers in the Third Wars, Chaos 2 returns in the first heat of the Fourth Wars looking to make a strong start to the defence of its crown. King Buxton returns as King B3 this time around and takes the 17th seeding, with newcomers Atomic and Atilla The Drum looking to surprise the odds as well.

"Hi. We're back. We won the last war. We changed nothing on the robot."
Good call, George.
I remember I had a wall poster for this series, with the names of all the robots arranged into the heats they appeared in. The first round pairings were already filled it, but after that there were columns of empty boxes going all the way to the grand final, and you had to fill in the pairings and winners as the competition progressed. Good times!
good times indeed
the evolution of robots from
2000-2021 is insane
Devolution
@@IambiguousSegment Cap. Chaos 2 wouldn't last a second against End Game. Robots have moved significantly far forward.
I know this comment is random but when the need to rewatch some RobotWars overtakes you this channel has been a goddess send. Thank you for the uploads!
You've got no idea how much this took me back to being a kid in the late 90s early 00s thank you!
Craig Charles always made hyped up for the show when he hosted. 😎
Agree 100%. He was the voice of Robot Wars and nobody could replace him
The one he hit the camera with.
Ah... the first acknowledge of George Francis' long history of breaking bits of the studio... ^^
That first heat, it was striking how much smaller Chaos 2 was, than the other two bots. But also, how it just kept on flipping and flipping and flipping... :)

The boy’s face was like: “Mission failed! We’ll get them next time.”
haha he was heartbroken
Indefatigable means "To persist tirelessly", in case anyone was interested.
I don’t think they persisted long enough to be considered tired 😂
JP: razer beat chaos 2 in the world championship
also JP, like ten seconds later: chaos 2 is seemingly unbeatable.
The beginning of my personal favourite wars
Thank you for this I don't know much about robots but I love this show. I use to catch it now and then on tv years ago. That little Chaos 2 robot is fast and efficient!
8:41 - Ah, the good old awkward interviews.
Wouldn't be Robot Wars without them.
Those Indefatigable kids are adorable. The wee one was just stunned when they lost hahaha. Good for him, it builds character.
Series 4 my favourite series and in good quality Thank you!
nice my favourite series is the Third Wars
yes it is series 4 but where is he pit release button
@@thomashewitt2713 It didn't appear until Extreme 1...
@@WillyWarby Series 3 is my favourite as well, it;s where we see the inovations that shaped robot battles in general up to this very day.
The original Free Shipping! Upside down and on fire :)
Was that a cross-reference to the current "Battlebots"?
I think this is my favorite thing craig charles did. and i really like red dwarf
He was excellent in this, plus it kept him in work between series of Red Dwarf.
Okay, this is almost certainly the series I first remember, look at how improved that set looks!
Amy's bunny mascot that brings everywhere she goes is like my wolf mascot Dawn "Little D" Jr. That I bring everywhere I go.
this is new the mini flame pit
aww. bless the pair of you.
Why do I feel a growing resentment from my computer as I watch these?
strange thing is alot of these robots in series 4 would go pretty far in series 3. There was a massive improvement with robot development between those 2 series
George Francis stated in this episode that Chaos 2 was unchanged. This was ultimately its downfall as it remained unchanged until its retirement at the end of Series 6. I seem to remember George later said that it was too expensive to modify and upgrade all the time.
Ade “Lack of time, effort and money”-George Francis xx
They made a couple of minor tweaks. Bigger gas bottle and more power in the flipper
This is brilliant to watch on the bus home from school
I was surprised Attila the drum went out in the first round the way it did I think Medusa 2000 stayed out of trouble too long. Not that it really mattered with Chaos 2 destroying everyone
PROPER ROBOT WARS!!
Whoever's idea it was to put three robots in the initial heats... I hope they got a raise.
I am so many good memories watching the show when I was young the memories stay in my head
I liked the exchange here: 29:15 Craig's gentle wisdom of "Realism, there's nothing wrong with that"
Atomic without its flipping blade is basically a Series 1 Robot.
And so it is with its flipping blade.
Eventually I'll be getting a hold of the Grand Champions series and given that it's VHS quality, I doubt it will look this good.
nice quality !
36:31 that tactic was a good idea at the time
The thumbnail is hilarious.
I'm a guy with way too much time on his hands.
That's why I've taken the time to redo the seeding for series 4.
I love the 32 seed structure, but how robots were seeding in this war, was a bit dumb.
So below this comment I'll lay down a few ground rules, then present what I think the seeding for S4 should've looked like...
Okay, first of all, I am NOT taking any international robot wars into account, this is based solely of the robots performance in series 3. I WILL however, take into account, the 1st world championship and to a certain extent, the robots experience.
1 final ground rule. If a robot exited series 3 in ROUND 1, they WILL NOT BE SEEDED. Stinger, Plunderbird, Killerhurtz. Yes, Killerhurtz did great v Choas 2 in the world championship, but that was still ROUND 1 there too.
Enough rambling, onto my seeding.
1. Choas2
2. Hypnodisc
3. Firestorm
4. Steg2
5. Razer
6. Panic Attack
7. Gemini
8. 101
9. Gravedigger
10. Wild Thing
11. Bigger Brother
12. Evil Weevil
13. Spawn of Scutter
14. Behemoth
15. Pussycat

27. Darke Destroyer II
28. Mortis
29. Weld-Dor
30. Raizor Blade
31. Onslaught
32. Sir Chromalot
darn, really liked that pit girl, but that exchange was pretty nice, hope the new pit girl did well.
King B3 has some blue on it. I bet it identified the shade of it to become a King in the first place.
So, here's the first heat of the Fourth Wars. My apologies for the slight delay, but I've been experimenting with 16:9 aspect ratio for videos, and only Movie Studio Platinum seems to be a reliable source of being able to convert the file into that size, followed by very, very slow render times (i.e. 2 hours for a 15 minute section). If anybody has any tips on either another programme that can make videos 16:9 or simply have any tips on making Movie Studio's rendering times quicker, then feel free to give me advice. I'm a bit of a novice on both in the aforementioned areas afterall.
Also, feel free to tell me if you actually like the aspect ratio like this. H2 - the channel which broadcast the repeats - broadcast the show in 4:3, just as a side note, so that would be the default upload size if not.
Also, the random black pauses for a second or two are where H2 cut off for an advert break. Yes, they were very incompetent in that regard, because they tended to cut off the last part of an interview that Julia was carrying out.
NJGW Once you've uploaded every classic Robot Wars TV series episode, you might consider uploading the 2016 Robot Wars episodes.
The 2016 series of Robot Wars will most likely end up getting region-locked to UK only if he uploads them.
I would say that for Series 4, you didn't need to make it 16:9. Widescreen kicked in for Extreme and S5
TaleOfTheToaster I agree with Toaster.
if you need any help with editing i'm an editor i use studio platinum so i can help
hello if matilda has enough of that chainsaw will she have a flywheel in extreme and the pit release button to be introduced
JP Matilda's tusks are not both hydraulic and pneumatic get your head in the game man.
if matilda gets pireced by razer will she be able to get a new weapon called a flywheel which weighs 27 kilograms
I think that George Francis is the Team Captain of Chaos 2 he is going up against his brother Paul Francis of Atomic 2 😜😜
You mean like a sibling rivalry kinda stuff?
this is refbot's first time on robot wars
I don't think they're related at all. They would have mentioned it for the drama. Plus, Worcester and Ipswich are pretty far apart and Paul looks a lot younger than George and also nothing like him.
the 2nd first round battle. i saw the pit open.
19:35 the RW judges for series 4
This is the fourth series bjt during the opening he talks about the fourth series in the past tense? Wha?
Does anyone else think that Julia Reed was a way better pit reporter then Philippa Forrester was 3:33
so how regular will the forth wars episodes be uploaded?
I replied in another comment, but currently three times a week. It's likely I'll get help soon though, so it will no doubt be more than that in the near future
Who is the voice heard between Julia and before Jonathan Pearce starts reading out the seads?
Do you mean Craig Charles or the team member?
NJGW Neither. The voice heard at 4:39.
Yeah, that's Craig's voice
That's not Craig.
Yes it is. He's just in a recording booth rather than an echoy warehouse.
Enter Atomic!
23:54 they hit the jackpot target 75 points
I did like the series 3 1 vs 1 setup but series 4 was ok
101's driving was questionable during that pinball run.
Fuck the house robots right?
So what did y'all think of Julia?
Felice Graziano she's fit
8:41
Holds my attention
I liked her better even back then
hello
The quality is great as always however it does look a little blury and I think that's due to something else I've noticed. In the top corner you can see text which appears to be cut off, meaning that it's possibly cropped the original version when you changed it to the 16:9 resolution in Movie Studio Platinum.
Maybe do a test with with the aspect ration you used for Series 7 because it looked just as good even with the black bars. And keep em coming too!
The text being cut off is actually to do with H2 - it overlapped onto the black borders. I just manually cropped out all of the black borders as apposed to simply making it 16:9.
For the next episode, I'll simply upload the H2 version and we'll see how people like it. I can always upload Heat A/B into the format that people prefer afterwards
NJGW Sounds like a decent way to test things.
Also, what's your schedule for uploading the episodes? is it one Heat every few days or something? I assume it takes several hours to edit and render the whole thing. I say this because I wish they came quicker xD
Yep, sadly it's just whenever I can, but I plan to upload three heats a week, with Heat B being uploaded right now
Three heats a week is a decent pace, but it'd be nice if we could get more than that.
I'm happy to help when it comes to editing & rendering. I use Aiseesoft Total Video Converter Platinum so if you need some support get in touch and we can tackle this together.

The very famous and intelligent Craig Charles with Robot Wars, Coronation Street, Red Dwarf and many more hits with Fan base 😊👍
Series 4 was in... 2001? Wait, no, the copyright at 43:39 says "©BBC MM" so this has to be 2000. I find it amazing how much not only robotics technology has improved in the 22 years since this was made (Carbide or Eruption would make mincemeat of most of these robots), but even more so how much television technology has improved (Robot Wars serieses 1-7 look blurry compared to serieses 8-10).
I'm sad the show got cancelled, and I hope it eventually gets restarted. I have to wonder what Series 11 (2025?) would look like. What robotic technologies will be available by then we can only guess.
And, I'm surprised no one has made a shredbot yet. Imagine an SSI shredder, but scaled down to about 110kg. Imagine it grabbing robots and giving them a slow shred, turning them to metal confetti. Ya, someone should build that.

Atomic was immobilized before indefatigable
Based on what was shown on TV, Atilla the drum should've gone though the first round
But if that'd happened, Chaos 2 would've been SCREWED :-p
Atilla couldn't really do damage to Chaos anyways, so even if both survived, chaos would probably still win based on agression.
Are u the creator of Attila? Well i can agree, but they had no chances with Chaos 2. I'd say Even Atomic + Medusa + Atilla 3v1 vs Chaos would have little chances
@@burzaburza2970 they had a very very small chance. Use the pick axe and hit the co2 cannester. Unlikely but possible
i think this was the first show that actually explained why the change in interviewer julia was 8/10 where i like Philippa best still sad as i never heard why she left after 6 Middlemiss was ok another 8/10 for 7 and i liked angela. but Philippa was always my fav
never saw julia reed after she did her stint, she was just as tasty. Shame they never brought her back
That new girl seems ok
julia reed vanished after she did her stint on robot wars,
@@procta2343 Vanished? You mean from tv?
@@greggreg2458 yeah from TV, never saw her on anything else at all after robot wars
@@procta2343 That's strange, i'm re-watching series 4 and i find her capable and entertaining.
IIRC she didn't go down all that well, neither did the other girl that took on the role while Philippa was absent (I forget her name though). Points of View was full of letters complaining about Julia.
Indefatigable's team are so goddamn awkward wtf
Smartphones didn't exist dude. 90s kids weren't on camera 24/7. And the younger one has to be what, six? Memorizing lines and sh!t. Think about it.
@@ghouliethousandtrouser2905 Does it change anything about what I said?
@@MansMan42069 No, they're still a couple of weirdo posh kids, but what the fuck kinda loser has to shit-talk little kids on the internet? You're not makin yaself look good, mate.
This whole show is cringey with the wwe wrestling acting and drama...and you pick the little kids out of all that cringey material to bash? Speaks volumes on your low IQ and lack of character. If I were you...I wouldn't draw attention to myself bud.
I did not get my girl pregnant but she still got fat
Kinda bullshit the 17 seed has to go against the 1 seed. You would think the 1 seed would go against the 32 seed
Where's the personalities of these people??? Its like drawing teeth getting simple sentences out of them.
I remember this series, I really enjoyed it the first time round. Now the robots seem really dated and stayed.
Urgh, the children interviews are always cringe.
I just just tired of all the commercials every two seconds
